So I saw the movie yesterday, and a sort of religious idea came to me.
Okay, so let's assume that God exists and consists of everything in the universe including us, and that everything is made up of His consciousness. Let's also assume that "Heaven" has several layers or dimensions and that the higher the dimension you are in, the more awareness you have of everything there is.
If this is the case, in relation to the movie plot of Inception, couldn't we then assume, (being a few layers below His awareness), that we are then God's own subconscious mind stuck in Limbo and that religion is a concept He made up to try and wake up?
Discuss.

There are some theories that we are merely a dream and it is only a matter of time before the dreamer will awaken
But others are that these layers of consciousness and dimensions are actually a learning process set up by the diety, either for us or for him to experience things that he/she/we couldn't normally.

This concept is one of the most logical I've heard so far.
