Put everything we've said before in other topics and forums RIGHT HERE....about reducing. We could stack it together to make a campaign in real life. I count on you to pass it to fellow gaians but also to people in real life that you know.
Recycling can take over reducing, not only that, but reusing too. Personally, I think that point that we called it Reduce Reuse Recycle came in order.
If it were in order from what we mainly did..it'd be...
Recycle 1/2 Reuse 1/4 Reduce.
Hmm...that won't work.
That states it. As I've said before, there is a reason we Reduce what we can use, we Reuse what we Reduced till it doesn't worked, and then finally we Recycle it. THE WORST OPTION IS THROWING IT AWAY.
Other points in reducing is reducing the percentage of what we waist. That is also a something like reducing. For instant, recycling reduces puting it in the garbage. Do you know where that garbage goes though? To the the ground! Marshy bad ground! The dumpers aren't scientists. They are not realistic in understanding the worst of things. All they have to do is :
Sort. Drive. Find. Dump. Sort. Drive. Find. Dump.
And so on.
Aboslutely not there fault...but that stuff that is thrown..it doesn't decompose JUST because it's underground. Yes it could help a little but only like half a second (sarcasm). Did you know that they dump it in the ocean? That links to oil spills...but that's pollution. Which I will post about in another forum (made later). Disgusting! They had to clean up the Chesapeake Bay because of all the exhaust, things we produce from our rear end, garbage...etc.
Reduce...BACK ON TOPIC!
That's not my point about recycling though. If we reduce the amount of waist we produce (garbage), then we could be recycling tons of stuff. But if you happen to have a reusable container or canteen, don't bother to use the water bottles even though you could recycle it. Reuse them...to reduce some of the recycling that is not needed and to reduce the amount of waist we produce... It's a better idea.
That's it for now.

One easy thing we can do to reduce is to take full advantage of sunlight. If its a sunny day and the room you'r in has a window; often you won't need to turn on a light. Just remember to pull those shades out of the way, and enjoy the natural light. Brake the habit of automatically turning on a light when you enter a room, and take a second to think: do i need to turn on this light to see?
Keeping you'r frig neat also helps. The faster you get the goods out of the frig, the less energy you'r frig uses to "re-cool" the inside.
