Here announcements are made along with the place to ask questions about the guild or to make requests, here, you will also inform the guild of any vacations, leave of abscenses, etc. Also, below will be the Rules of the guild and a general FAQ which we encourage you to read to maybe answer your question. If the FAQ does not cover the question your wishing to ask, feel free to ask it in this thread.
Rules and Procedures of the Guild:
Every member must read every word of this and understand what is said.
Every Soldier Knows, that leaders define rules, and Rules shape the Brotherhood...
For everyone to get a idea on the guild structure, I command the Paladins only, the Paladins commands the member's of their Divisions. So that means do not PM me with a idea, request, or questions, PM your Paladin, he/she is your leader, not myself. If I get a PM asking a question from a member, I'll redirect you to ask your question to your Paladin. The Paladins are the heart of the guild and handle almost everything.
The Main Guild Forum is for posting Out Of Character or known as OOC. The Subforums if you choose to post in them MUST be in some type of RP form, even if it's simple. If you talk OOC in the Subforums, please use brackets surrounding your sentence, such as ((Insert OOC sentence here.)) Please keep OOC chatter down to minimal. The threads in the Main Guild forum is meant for Out Of Character speech, normal talking, in which case, the Main Guild Thread and Barracks will be the hubs of communication. This rule WILL be enforced and required.
Posting Requirements:
You must post once ever three days at the very least to be counted as active. You must check into your barracks, posting in other threads will not count you as active, this makes it easier for the Paladins to keep track of their members instead of having to look at every thread to see if you've posted recently. Even though RPing isn't required in your posts in the Barracks to check in, we encourage you in order to stimulate RPing for others.
First Thing to do after Joining and being accepted into the Guild:
You get assigned to a Division. Look at the type of Job Occupations available listed in the sticky named "Occupations, Weaponry, and Banner", select your job and PM your Paladin with your job selection. Each member is allowed only one job occupation, there are no exceptions. After you select your job occupation, then it's a good idea to go to your Division's Barracks and start posting in there to remain active. You must post in your Division's Barracks around every three days to meet the posting requirements of the guild. If you become inactive, you'll receive one warning. Once you receive a warning, you must post and keep up with the posting requirements to prove yourself again. If you become inactive again, you will be removed from the guild by your Paladin.
Rules of the Guild Forum:
To create a thread, you must get the permission from me unless creating your own thread in the Chatterbox Subforum, which is allowed only in that subforum. If requesting to make a thread in the main guild forum or any of the other subforums, please post your request to create a thread in this thread. Do not PM me with a request to create a thread, only post it in this thread. You must list the reason for the thread you wish to create, what you are setting out to achieve with the creation of the thread that your requesting. If your request to create a thread is accepted or denied, I'll either accept or deny it by responding to your post in this thread. I will not PM you that your request to create a thread is either accepted or denied. If you request to make the thread, it's your duty to check to see if I have gave you permission to make it or not, not mine.
Any thread that is created without permission outside of the Chatterbox Subforum to be created will be deleted by me immediately.
No spam threads, any spam threads will be deleted immediately upon notice. A example of a spam thread is "spam here for gold", "hello, I'm new to the guild", "post here for gold", "count to 100", "bump here for gold". Any threads like that will be deleted by either the Paladins or myself.
All threads and posts must meet to the standards of the Terms Of Service agreement of Gaia. Any post or thread that does not meet the TOS agreement of Gaia, the post or thread will be deleted. When thinking about if something is appropriate, think PG-13.
Weaponry Rules:
Your only permitted to use weapons by what rank you are. To see what type of weaponry your permitted to use, go to the sticky called "Occupations, Weaponry, and Banner Listing". It'll show you what each rank is permitted to use in the means of weaponry. If your job occupation is Demolitions and a low rank, use common sense, you can use mines and demolition type of charges because that is your job field. Any member using weaponry outside of their rank will be warned about this by another member.
Duties of the Squad Leaders:
You're a representative to those in your squad. As a representative, you must display what it's like to be a good member, meaning posting often and displaying a professional attitude towards others. Your duties are to keep track of your members posting habits and to warn them if they fall under the minimum posting requirements, if they proceed to be inactive, then you PM your Division Leader to remove them from the guild. Also, it's your duty to be helpful to any new members of your squad or division in general, to help them get started. These are the basic functions of the role of squad leader.
Duties of the Paladins:
You're a representative of the members under your command. If they have a question, comment, request, or a suggestion about the guild, they'll PM you. Your duty is to your members and to answer everything they ask you to the best of your ability. I rely on the Paladins to carry out my orders and command them, but they command the members of their Division.
Keep track of your members. They must post in your Division's Barracks to be considered active in the guild and meet the posting requirements. If you notice a member not keeping up with these requirements, send them a warning about them being inactive. This gives them a chance to redeem themselves and become active again. If the member persists to be inactive, it's your duty to remove them from the guild, you don't have to tell me that your removing them. To remove them, send them a PM saying their removed. Then go to the Member Listing and find their name in the listing, then click on Ban. Once that's done, go to the "Rank and Division Listing" sticky and go to my post there and click Edit. Find their name under the rank listing and delete their name off the list. Then go down to under your Division and delete their name there also. I expect you to do this and put full trust in all Paladins to keep track and remove their members if needed, putting all trust in them to carry out these duties.
Giving Rank Upgrades to active and dedicated members and informing them of their rank upgrade as well as announcing it in the Main Guild Thread and in this thread so that other members know of rank upgrades.
When I have orders or something the Paladins need to know, I'll PM them. This can range from telling you of new members being assigned to your Division to voting on issues about a war with another guild.
You have the power of Moderator in the forum, if you see a spam thread, delete it. If it doesn't meet with the terms of service agreement of Gaia, delete it.
Duties of the General:
Answering any questions in this thread.
Being the Administrator of the entire Forum and looking at threads and posts to make sure they meet the ToS agreement of Gaia and to keep the forum running properly.
Commanding the Paladins and making decisions with them, keeping them well informed and to pass on information about the guild to them.
Keeping track of events and problems happening in the "Guild Council" in which every guild captain is a member of the Guild Council. This ensures that the guild runs smoothly with events happening with other guilds and any problems that could effect the guild. Also, keeping track of other guilds to make note on potential enemies or allies.

The following has been created by Lucimorth:
Rules for the Research and Development Department
1. Research has to be based on existing technology in the fallout universe [either Raiders or Reavers or the BoS] or technology that actually exists in the real world.
Technology from the fallout universe:
Any piece of equipment and/or machinery that is listed in the BoS base can be used as schematics, plans, or backwards engineering material. If it is not in the base but you know it from the game [perhaps from Raiders or Reavers] you should request a mission that will retrieve the items and/or schematics. If it is items, then a reverse engineering process must take place. The duration shall be determined by the complexity of the piece of technology. In any case, the simplest items should take one day [real life] and complex items can take months [complex items are some sort of complex computer console with many parts and strange designs.] As some of the technology developed technology can be as powerful as Paladin level items, prolonged periods of development are only reasonable.
Technology from the real world:
If you know of any REAL technology from our own world, you may use it in your research. The technology will be subject to material and energy constraints of a post apocalyptic universe. [For example; an airplane carrier will be rejected due to massive amounts of material and energy required.] If you decide to bring real world technology, it is your responsibility and duty to provide reasonable and brief knowledge of the actual operations of the device you wish to use as well as a brief explanation of how current materials and energy will be used with a note about the relative equivalence to an existing item. [For example; a small boat will require 1000 kilograms of metal and one main consol worth of computer equipment. The energy will require 3 power armor power sources.] I know it is a very complex process, however for the sake of reason, if you want to bring technology from outside we must know exactly where it lies in relation to existing fallout technology.
2. The duration of any development must be more then one post at the very least, even for the simplest items. For anything you develop, you must list every single step and little stages you go through, down to workplace preparation and maintenance.
Example: If you design a new sniper rifle with extended range, the stages will be roughly as follows:
1.Researching the properties of the existing sniper rifles.
2.Conducting experiments on above mentioned properties and creating a theory about how to extend the range.
3.Acquiring any required technology; going to outside missions to retrieve it if needed.
4.Analyzing said technology and creating several different prototypes
5.Testing the prototypes [remember, most of them will fail, you will find something that works on maybe the tenth attempt if you are lucky.]
6.Optimizing the efficiency of the successful experiment and conducting new experiments to make sure it works.
7.Finalizing the design, maintenance and manufacturing procedures of the weapon.
That will last about two real life weeks for a 10% range increase. If it is something like double range, than expect it to last as much as getting from Initiate to Senior Squire.
Quote:
I understand that these rules make things complicated a little, but I sincerely believe that it will limit debate and arguments about the validity of any technology that is researched and developed in the BoS.
