The young twins Anaryn and Arlen (more Anaryn than her brother) plan on holding their very first Christmas party, and everyone was invited! They were able, with permission, to use the lobby in the hotel that most everyone stayed at and decorate it for the party. With warm holiday greetings, welcome to the twins' Christmas party!

The lobby of the hotel was brightly decorated in red and green, with poinsettias and holly decorating every corner. Garland was draped around the ceiling and around the long table that held many different holiday treats for the guests to enjoy. Wreaths with pretty red bows hung on the walls, giving the room an even more Christmas-y look, if it didn't look like it enough. Then, the grand master piece was the tall, proud Christmas tree that stood in one corner, decorated with white Christmas lights and many colorful ornaments. On top of the tree was a star, which glowed bright silver, though it was attached to no wires, nor did it have batteries. The foot of the tree held Christmas presents from the twins to guests, with room to spare for any that brought gifts with them. And, for added fun, a small clump of mistletoe, tied with a small red ribbon with a tiny gold bell on it, hung over a doorway to catch any unsuspecting guests unawares, especially if it were two people.

Anaryn was standing on a ladder, holding a wreath in one hand and steadying herself with her other on the wall. She was dressed in a pretty red-and-white dress, with a red bow in her long blue hair. "Almost got it." she murmured, steadying herself. She wobbled and almost fell over.
"Careful!!" Arlen snapped, holding the ladder. He was also dressed in red-and-white, but it wasn't by choice. He glared at her. "Have someone holding that stupid ladder to keep from killing yourself!"

The twins were so excited! They did enjoy a good party, and how could they resist a Christmas party?! They came into the lobby, their pets in toe, carrying a large bag in their mouths. "Anaryn! Arlen! This is amazing! The aesthetic quality brilliant! Did you make this yourself itty bittys!?" Thorn asked excitedly as she examined the decorated lobby. Clair walked in behind and ordered her pets to go sit and they obeyed. .They They politely sat by a wall and waited to be addressed by their masters. Clair looked around and smiled. It was nice. "Sup kiddies? Gotta admit, this was an awesome idea." she said smoothly.
Kitsune and her nine foxes filed in after the twins. All wearing Christmas collars, their master having an elegant wreath around her neck. "Well this is nice. You all go have fun. Don't forget to greet your host." she said as she walked over to say hello once the twins( Clair and Thorn) were done with their conversation.

"Oh! Hi, everyone!" Anaryn said, slipping down the ladder after fixing her wreath on the nail perfectly. "Yes, we did! I hope you all have fun! We have hot cocoa, gingerbread men, candy canes, everything! I just hope that there's enough for everyone. And that Arlen doesn't try eating it all."
"Oh, come on, I had to pay for a lot of the stuff!" he snapped.
"You mean we, Arlen. I paid for it, too." Anaryn said.
"This is an entire waste of money!" he snapped. "It could have been for something better! Like potions and...stuff." One thing for certain that Arlen didn't like was the amount of money spent on it. It wasn't a pretty penny, as the term goes, but he still didn't like it.
Anaryn rolled her eyes at her brother and turned back to the older twins. "And we've got presents by the tree, too, so if you have anything, just leave it there." Kyran came scampering at her feet, wearing a bright red collar that jingled with the tiny silver bells that hung from it. He wagged his tail playfully as he jumped into his master's arms. Anaryn giggled when he began giving her kisses.

Thorn giggled in delight but gasped. "Clairie! We forgot our presents!" she said worriedly. Clair rolled her eyes. "I thought you had it...fine. I'll be back.." Clair moaned and left through a portal. Thorn smiled. "Well its all quite impressive! You've outdone yourself, expensive or not! Now...you said we all got presents?" She cooed, very interested in the prospect of getting something nice.

"Yes, everyone got a gift from the two of us." Anaryn answered, holding her hell hound's head down for a little while. "I hope you like it, too. I was worried most about what to get each for each person....."
"Who cares? What's with the whole 'gift-exchanging' thing, anyway?" Arlen said loudly, being an a** on purpose.
(That was the best way for me to describe him at that moment.)

Thorn smiled and turned her head up to Arlen. "Some one's being a scrooge. You have a bad experience with the holiday sweetie?" she asked sweetly. The season always put her in a good mood. Clair didn't seem to care.
]Kitsune and her foxes trotted up to Anaryn. "Hello there Anaryn, you and your brother sure did a nice job decorating the lobby. I should hire you all to decorated the castle back on my world." she said as her foxes crowded the girl, happily greeting her in their own special ways.

Arlen squirmed, looking down at the ground. "Um....I never had a Christmas, since-since our parents died." He then turned and left to suddenly adjust something on the far corner of the room.
Anaryn turned to watch her brother leave, about to follow him when the foxes came up. "Hi. I did most of the decorating, though it took both of us to get the garland up. It's kinda hard to put it up that high and hold onto something at the same time when you're nothing but a small wisp of light or shadow. It took forever."

"I bet it did. But it looks nice. We brought Sweet Cookies. I didn't know if we were supposed to bring something." Kitsune said as her foxes offered several platters. The cookies them selves were soft and sugary, tasting like raw cookie dough and honey, but they were fully cooked.
Thorn watched Arlen go and wondered if she should follow. She looked like she upset him but she didn't want to leave him like that. She followed after him, an apologetic look on her face. "Aww. Arlen. I'm sorry I didn't mean to upset you...well...you have your sister now. And your surrounded by friends. You won't have to be alone during the holidays ever again." she said kindly, hoping to cheer Arlen up.

"Oh! That's so kind of you! It's quite alright if you brought something. They look delicious!" Anaryn took two of the platters and carried them to the table to set them with the rest of the goodies. "I hope you enjoy the party!"
Arlen sighed when he heard Thorn's apology. "No, I should be sorry. I let my...emotions on this time of year get the better of me. I remember things a little more clearly than Anaryn about when we were kids, and I remember that they were always good times at this time of year. And when I was captive of the thieves, well, do you think they had Christmas parties?" he said, smirking a little. "It's okay. I'm not mad at ya. I was just being a little too emotional. I think it probably has something to do with the fact of how much money was wasted on this thing." His head looked like it was sizzling. "Unfortunately, she gave me that puppy eye look, and it didn't help that that stupid dog of hers was doing the same thing, either!"

Thorn giggled. "Aww! It's ok! And Kyran's adorable!" she said cheerfully. "Ah I remember Christmas before we died. Our whole family would decorate the the together. " She sighed upon reminiscing and finally realized something. "Where is my lazy sister? She should totally be back by now." Thorn glanced at Arlen and smirked, suddenly grabbing him and trapping him in a bear hug. "Smile smile smile!" she cheered. She squeezed him tighter.
Clair showed back up, a large sack slung over her shoulder. "Seesh. I thought we had fewer than this..." she groaned. She had been wrapping the rest of the presents since her dear sister was being two lazy to finish. She dropped the presents at the tree and went to say hi to Anaryn, but ran into Kitsune. She glared.
Kitsune turned and glared back. Each woman stared for a long time, their eyes boring into each other. They finally calmed and called a truce for now...it was the season of happiness and friendship...they supposed. Kitsune nodded her head. "Hello Clair..." Kitsune replied.
"Sup? So...I see you brought Sweet Cookies....awesome." Clair said back. Kitsune and Clair didn't like each other that much was obvious but they both they decided to put their feelings aside and get along.

"That dog sure as heck ain't." he growled, glowering at the Hell Hound for a brief second. He then wheezed out a gasp when Thorn hugged him close to her. "Hey, leggo, leggo!" he growled, his face red. With embarassment or fury, no one knew; not even him.
Anaryn saw the tension between Kitsune and Clair when the older of the older twins arrived once more. "You know what this calls for?" she asked cheerfully, hoping to help break the tension a little more. "Some hot cocoa with candy canes! I'll go get them for you. I wonder where everyone else is? There should be more people here by now." She flounced over to the food, where she made two hot cocoas and dunked a peppermint candy cane into each cup. She brought them back to the fox and woman, smiling brightly. "Here you are!" she said happily, holding a cup tp each one.

Kitsune nodded and both women looked to Anaryn. Hot cocoa and candy canes did seem nice. They thanked the the younger and both seemed to calm down a little, but they still glared at each other. "I don't know....Xeeres said he'd be coming...or at least I think that's what he said. I hope Zeke does. I have a mistletoe with his name on it." Clair purred and chuckled deviously.
Mean while Aztec and Maya caught a glimpse of Kyran and couldn't help but go and check him out. They walked up to him steadily and sniffed his rear as all dogs do to say hello.
Thorn only squeezed tighter. "Not till you smile!" she chirped and purred happily. She wanted the boy to be in a good mood so she'd squeeze the anger out of him only leaving the joy of the holidays behind...or she'd squeeze out his guts like a tube of toothpaste. Whichever came first.

Anaryn giggled. "That sounds fun! It's over there if you want to lead him to it without him knowing." she said, pointing to the doorway that held the mistletoe.
Kyran yelped when Aztec and Maya began sniffing at him. He turned and growled at them, and also suddenly became twenty five times his own puppy size, towering over the two other dogs. His friendly blue eyes became fiery red, and fire blazed down his back like a mane. He bared his fangs viciously at them, warning them that any closer he would bite their heads off....literally.
Arlen struggled from Thorn's arms, gnashing his teeth at her. "No, no, no! I don't feel like it!" He didn't like getting hugged, so it only put him in a bad mood. Despite his Kelpie blood in him, which made him stronger than any normal human teen, he still was a pup, as they were called, and only half, so he couldn't force himself out of Thorn's arms no matter how much he wanted to.
(pup = Kelpie young (liked the term.))
