Normally, I'm not a big fan of television comedies. But this amazingly brilliant show has won over my heart. A smart comedy that will have you rolling.

If you don't know the premise check this out: The Big Bang Theory

Anyone here a fan?

I am a fan of the Big Bang Theory. It is a comedic show which captures so many elements from my friends and my life... minus about 50 IQ points or so.

It is very sad when I watch one of their nerdy conversations like the science behind Superman's powers and whether if he would have sliced Louis Lane into three different pieces in catching her from a falling helicopter (Episode 102) And think to myself I've had conversations like that and many others like them so many times over the years.

For so long I've lost interest in television, but with the premier of several good shows like Big Bang Theory, Rules of Engagement, How I Met Your Mother, and a few others I found myself watching more television now than I have in the past 5-6 years.

When I first heard about this show in 2007, I thought it was completely stupid. It's only purpose: to waste time on my televsion in the 7 o'clock slot.

I didn't start watching it until I grew bored one night and thought 'What the hell. I can waste 30 minutes of my life, why not?' To this day I don't remember if the episode was 'The Adhesive Duck Deficiency' or 'The Pants Alternative', all I do know was after that my opinion of this show did a complete 180 turn and I've been a fan every since.

Despite some broadly-drawn characters (the nebbishy, shy nerds, the dumb, dumb blonde), the show does succeed where it most counts for a sitcom. It's hysterical. Not just funny, but absolutely hysterical. As well, all four male leads have settled nicely into their characters, with Jim Parsons delivering laugh-out-loud moments from moment one. Even more so when paried with lovely Kaley Cuoco.

The supposedly canon couple of the show is Leonard/Penny, but I've found myself drawn to Sheldon/Penny. On the shallow end, first of all, I perfer some height difference in my couples, and there is a lovely one between Sheldon and Penny. Another reason I prefer Sheldon and Penny in the shipping equation is because I think that the actors Jim Parsons and Kaley Cuoco have some great chemistry (while Cuoco and Johnny Galecki do not). I know this likely won't happen, but *sigh* a girl can dream.

I love The Big Bang Theory.
It's definitely one of, possibly even, the funniest shows on tv right now. Almost every episode has me laughing so much that it literally hurts. Plus, I've always been a sucker for the geeky type.
Though I'm nowhere near as smart as they are, I find myself connecting with the show due to it's intellectual aspects.

Jim Parsons really owns the character of Sheldon, and I couldn't imagine anyone else doing a better job. He's my favorite character, along with Howard, who I seem to love for his perverse humor.
