Is there anything special to be said about a lunar eclipse that happens to coincide with the Winter Solstice? Other than just an interesting coincidence, I mean.

I had a look for info on eclipse lore last time there was one here, and there's surprisingly little about it. Generally it seems to be linked to something eating the moon, and was considered more scary than anything else really.
But that search was done a few years ago. So who knows.

So, for the moment, I'm going to assume nothing special.

People might have their own ideas. I'd find it slightly irritating if it were happening here, as the lunar eclipse is an interesting thing to watch in its own right and combining various religious wotsits into one day is annoying. I like having the time to focus on them separately.
To anyone holding a special ritual on this night, don't expect a rush of energy when the moment of the eclipse occurs. If you get one, great, but don't organise a ritual expecting one.

I was watching a documentary about Cassandra Latham, ex-village wisewoman, who commented about the coming eclipse some ten odd years ago. She stated that it should be something not to look at. She felt that it was the sun and the moon have sexual relations, and we should avert her eyes.
An interesting interpretation, no?

That's... that's certainly something...
