Tell us about something you saw recently, whether it was good or if we should stay clear of it like the plague. Or something.
Just got back from seeing The Producers, which was great. Always thought I would've liked to have seen the stage show, but the movie was good enough for me.

I haven't seen the new version of The Producers (or the stage version, for that matter), but I loved the original 1968 version. Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder are just so hilarious.

Woebe Tide Would you believe I saw that at the casino down in Sydney just before we went off for the honeymoon. surprised I've never felt such love for Bert Newton as I did that night. rofl The movie scares me for some reason, I don't think I'll see it. confused lol Upon rethinking about the movie today, (I think that's called reflecting XP) I'm starting to think it wasn't as great as I thought. I mean I loved the story, and the characters where well played and it was enjoyable all round. But It did feel like it was just the stage show shot on film. The sets were all only from one angle. I couldn't put my finger on it before but that gave a bizarre feeling. I think if it had've been shot more like an actual movie rather than how it is, it would've been a whole lot better

Last night I watched half of Robert Altman's Short Cuts. It was interesting and I enjoyed it but I really wish I could have finished watching it. My VCR didn't want to work on the second tape so I had to go to sleep instead. XP When I get through it all I'll let you all know if it was as superb as it looks so far. 3nodding
Homigawd, and it has Tim Robbins in a cop uniform! X3 *girlish glee*

I finally got to see House of Flying Daggers. Visually stunning, although I didn't think the story was developed enough. But still gorgeous to look at.

Last night I watched a movie that had both Bruce Campbell and Renee O'Connor (Gabrielle from Xena) in it. Yay! The movie wasn't that great, but of course Campbell and O'Connor were great. The movie was called Alien Apocalypse.

And now he's seen the guys new movie he won't stop going on about that either (Although he said he saw it without subtitles, but just skipped to the fight scenes anyway) valkyrie_lisa I finally got to see House of Flying Daggers. Visually stunning, although I didn't think the story was developed enough. But still gorgeous to look at. That's like Hero, when I finally got around to watching it, I was really dissapointed with the story, but thought visually it was amazing. valkyrie_lisa Last night I watched a movie that had both Bruce Campbell and Renee O'Connor (Gabrielle from Xena) in it. Anyhoo, I just saw Walk The Line at my friends place, and I gotta say that movie was excellent.

I saw, Saw, the other day and was absolutely blown away. I tend to try and not see hyped up movies, unless it's something I'm really interested in (because I always seem to be disapointed eg War of the Worlds, and countless other movies that everyone raved about and I found mediocre at best) But Saw was so damn good. I've got Saw 2 here on dvd right now, So I'll probablly go watch it. I feel a review coming up after watching it too.
So put a battery in your leg

(and those who know me know I don't use heart lightly)
Damn that was the best thing I've seen in so long. I don't think anything can top that for a while

I went to see Lady in the Water last weekend and thought it was pretty cool. There was one scene that was self indulgent but still funny, but I thought the rest was great. My stepdaughter thought it was unrealistic (ok, then why does she like The Ring so much?), but I'm very good at the whole suspended disbelief thing. Tell me a good story, let me use my imagination, and I'm happy. Also, I really like the values that Shyamalan displays in his works.
