When some Pokemon meet certain prerequisites, they will evolve into a new, stronger Pokemon. This thread will describe the kinds of evolution and what you will need to do once your Pokemon evolves.

Types of Evolution

By Level: The most common type of evolution is by gaining a particular level. Some Pokemon will level-up at a low level and others will only evolve once they've reached quite a high level.

By Stone: Some Pokemon will only evolve when they come into contact with an evolutionary stone, regardless of their level. Most Pokemon that evolve with a stone will be unable to learn any new moves once they have evolved, so be cautious when determining when it's the right time to take this evolutionary step.

By Happiness: Raising Pokemon isn't only about battling. Some of them require a certain amount of happiness before they'll evolve. Trainers can make their Pokemon happy by winning battles with them, carrying them around outside of their Pokeball, spending money to buy the Pokemon gifts, and by bonding with them in roleplay. A crew member will determine when the Pokemon is happy enough to evolve.

By leveling-up and knowing a specific move: A small number of Pokemon will only evolve once they've reached a certain level and have learned a certain move.

By leveling-up while holding a unique item: Sometimes, a Pokemon will only evolve once they reach a high enough level while holding a unique item. If they aren't holding the item by the time they reach a high enough level, they may simply hold the item when leveling up to a level beyond that in order to evolve. These items are usually somewhat difficult to come by. Some may be bought from a store's secret stock once the Trainer has enough badges, others will require the completion of special events to obtain.

New Ability, Stats, and Moves

When your Pokemon meets the requirements for evolution, you will need to visit the Pokemon Profile Approval thread in the game system sub-forum and post its profile before it can evolve. In that post, you will be required to make a note that you are requesting an evolution. Once posted, a crew member will post the profile of its evolved form on that same thread. Depending on the Pokemon, there is a chance that it will have a new ability.

The new Pokemon that will be posted will have different base stats than its devolved form. Since the Base Relation of these stats will likely be different than they were in its previous form, you will have to redistribute all of its stat points that have been gained through leveling up as if you had just captured this new Pokemon.

Finally, some Pokemon will learn new moves right when they evolve. When the evolved profile is posted by a crew member, check the Pokemon Database for any moves that the evolved form of your Pokemon will have learned by that point (anything that it will have known by its current level) and add them to its move list. Do not add moves that the Pokemon already knows.

In the Pokemon Profile Approval thread, there will be an example of an evolution that you may follow. Once you've updated the new Pokemon's profile with its distributed stats and new moves if it has any, you will have to post this new profile in the Pokemon Approval thread so that a crew member may check it over. This process may seem a little complicated the first time you have to go through it, so always feel free to ask questions if you're unsure of how to go about getting your Pokemon evolved once its able to.

On a side note, you may chose to simply not evolve your Pokemon once it meets its prerequisites. To do this, simply refrain from posting a request for an evolution in the Pokemon Profile Approval thread. Most Pokemon will learn their powerful moves more quickly if you level them up without evolving them right away, giving this option its own set of benefits. In addition, there is a small chance that a Pokemon simply won't listen to you if it becomes too powerful too quickly. For the Pokemon who evolve at a specific level, they may also be evolved at any level-up after the original prerequisite.
