I solemnly swear I am up to no good. Can anyone recommend me a vampire movie or book (or website...) that's accurate? As close to actual vampires as possible?

OK, first, what's your definition of accurate? Every vampire is different. The mythos is different too. In the original Dracula, Dracula could walk in sunlight but had to take soil from his homeland with him when he went to London for some reason. The "vampires die in sunlight" thing didn't start until the Nosferatu movie where Van Helsing kills Nosferatu right when the sun comes up.
TL;DR: Every vampire is different. No two vampires are the same not on fire. Awwwwww...

Mischief managed. Well, there's really no real legit stuff. I'm sure there are people who claim to have seen vampires (and some who claim they are, in fact, vampires) but there's really no evidence...

The problem with Mithos is that is CAN change. It takes a lot research to figure out where they truly began and what was the original myth, and even then no one truly knows.
Really, you're going to find different interpretations of many different things, and that's beauty of it.
Like with Twilight. Now I personally don't like Twlight...BUUUUT...
A lot people bastardize it because of Stephanie Meyers' version of a vampire, but in all essence, vampirism is still a myth. It can be twisted and interpreted in any way she wanted. She did stick to the blood sucking, even though they sucked animal blood...but they did still suck blood. Granted, i do think the sparkling thing was weird adn the fact that they were all powerful through me off, but that's her interpretation of what she thinks a vampire is. We may not like it, but it's an interpretation.
Also, step aside out of vampire world and go into mythology. There are so many different interpretations of mythology it isn't funny. Fine examples of that are Thor and Hercules. Even the story of Christ has had it's share of people interpreting it differently.
Really, It's probably going to be a lot harder to find a book like that.
I don't even know where to begin looking for what is legitimate and what is not.
