Taking the train to Barton you have a seat next to a window and watch the scenery of Barton West Field flick by by until you hit the tunnel where the darkness is so overwhelming you can't even see the concrete, before your eyes can adjust the small television on the front of the car flicks on.
"This is Cindy Donovinh with Gaia Nine News. Reports are coming in about disturbances across Gaia about household items coming to life and attacking residents, the Barton Guard says they are doing their best to contain the problem as quickly as possible. Until then we advise you to lock your homes and to stay out of open areas like the forms or the coliseum for your own safety."
Another passenger across the aisle shakes his head and adjusts his glasses... was he always there? You could have sworn you were the only one of the train. "Those guards don't know what they're getting into." He sighs. You shoot him a questioning look and he gives a seemingly friendly smile. "They're not properly armed you see. Those things on the TV? Those are Animated."
"Oh? How do you know that?"
"I work for G-Corp you see, I'm used to this kind of weirdness." He chuckles "Hey, why don't you help the guards out when we arrive?" He says nonchalantly passing you a ring.
"Hey buddy I hardly know you! Isn't it a little early in our relationship for you to be giving me rings?"
Blushing wildly the man tries to compose himself. "That is not why I gave you that ring! Look, the Animated monsters can only be defeated by these rings. You need to focus your energy into this ring... and then it will zap the animated."
You look down at the ring and hesitantly slip it on your pinky-finger, it somehow fits perfectly. "Wow! Thanks guy! This is pretty cool, how'd you get it anyway? You gotta name?" You say turning to smile and show it off... but he's gone. "That's weird."
Something strange is going on. You can feel some sort of energy deep in the earth, radiating from it's vast oceans to the Towns...Something is coming. Something that will change Gaia forever.
