 Is anyone else here excited for the movie Sucker Punch? Plot: A young girl is institutionalized by her wicked stepfather. Retreating to an alternative reality as a coping strategy, she envisions a plan which will help her escape from the facility. I may see it. I dunno. For Snyder's last two films, I've been really excited beforehand, then really disappointed with them in the end. So I'm not getting my hopes up for this one.

Oh, I've been wanting to see this. But like The Kraken (basically) said, I'm a bit worried that it won't be as good as it looks..

I'll likely see it. Looks like my kind of movie. I recall Emily Browning being more than capable in the few things i've seen her in.
Vanessa Hudgens, though? Why. I doubt she can act. gonk

I am extremely excited for this movie.
Zack Snyder... Now he can just make a movie like you read about.
My logic is the same as it is with Avatar; even if the plot is overrated, at least it's very nice to look at.

ff wave length gg I'll likely see it. Looks like my kind of movie. I recall Emily Browning being more than capable in the few things i've seen her in. Vanessa Hudgens, though? Why. I doubt she can act. gonk Thats probably because she hasnt been cast in the right role yet. Kinda like Zac Efron. Both of them are best known for the High School Musical, yet look at some of the other films Efron has done like '17 Again' and 'Me and Orsen Welles' and he does a good job in there, mostly cuz the roles are more mature and not aimed at kids. And judging from the trailer for Sucker Punch, this aint no kids film. And who knows, Vanessa Hudgens may surpirse ya.

Definitely looking forward to it. Even if the plot might suck, it looks like a lot of fun. Girls kicking a** is such a guilty pleasure of mine.

I really don't get the whole "girl power" and "girls-kicking a**" thing...hows it any difference from a male character? Well, because it is different, but I mean, whats the big attraction to this sort of thing?
I really don't care what gender/race/etc the main character is, as long as their character was written well and portrayed well, then I'm happy. confused

I think its more of the thinking from the start that 'girls cant do things as well as guys' so then the whole idea of switching roles came into play more, but now it seems a bit over done on some movies and seems more or less that they just did it in hoping to gain a wider audience. this movie however, doesn't seem like one of those movies, but seems much more fitting for the main character to be female. Where as a movie like Tomb Raider seems more like it really wouldn't matter who was the main character, though that movie was ridiculous due to the fact that all the men in it seemed like they had the intelligence of an apple. Also, I was really surprised that I liked The Descent, when I saw the trailer years ago I thought it would be terrible but after watching it when it came on DVD I was surprised that it was actually a pretty good movie. Never saw the second one though.
