People ask for a lot of relationship readings xDD

I think the majority of questions I've ever used my cards on have been relationship problems or issues. It's interesting sometimes because I've received questions from people who are just convinced someone else is their "soulmate," and they want the cards to verify that. However I've never really found any card that seems to really indicate two people are meant for each other.

There are numerous relationship related cards in a deck, but what are your take on them? There's definitely the position in a layout to keep in mind, but just seeing them there, what do you think a couple of them might mean?

-Which cards do you think strongly indicate a relationship can forge between two people when it shows up in a layout?
-What cards in your deck do you think strongly indicate events that can occur in a relationship? Such as pregnancy, marriage, buying a house, etc.
-What cards in your deck do you think could indicate a relationship isn't working? Or better yet, not worth pursuing?

Yeah. Relationship readings are the most common ones ordered and that's kind of why I took a break from my shop. I loved helping people with problems that aren't about relationships, but I hated being bogged down with the "OMG IS HE FOR ME?" and the "Should I date so and so?" kind of questions. They just left me exhausted.

As for the cards themselves, I see cards that are associated with clarity, communication, stability, and of course love and relationships as cards that promote a relationship such as the Ace, 2, and 10 of cups, The Lovers, 4 of Wands, The Magician (If upright/well dignified/positive aspect), The Sun, the 3 of Pentacles (for teamwork), and 7 of Pentacles (potential for growth).

For events, The Chariot and the knights can represent a move along with the 6 of Swords and The World in some cases. For pregnancy, The Empress and The Sun stick out and in my deck, the Ace of Swords reversed for some reason according to the booklet. There aren't many cards for pregnancy, but if those are surrounded by a lot of emotional and sensual cards, it could help you determine it or not.

For relationships not working/not worth pursuing, it depends on what the client wants out of the relationship. Naturally the betrayal and secrecy of the 5 and 7 of swords wouldn't be good (most of the time), and The Devil could show a hidden addiction. Some of the court cards could indicate a fear of commitment depending on the position in the spread.

Hmm.....That's all I can think of right now.

I know what you mean xD

I used to offer a Looking for Love sorta spread in my thread, and it was one of the most requested spreads along with relationship questions. Interestingly enough, because I don't ask to be paid, it was also the only spread I rarely got gold for or even a thank you for doing. So it was interesting to me because the behavior and response reflected the type of question they would ask. Their questions asked regarding love tended to be asked with a hands out sort of manner. Asking what will drop love into their life, rather than focusing on what they should do to bring love into their life.

Which was always the response I got from the cards, telling the person they need to stop thinking with their hand out and actually work toward making a relationship happen. So I ended up removing the spread since it felt like I was becoming like a parrot lolol.

The Sun and the 7 of Pentacles O:
That's an interesting thought, I've never encountered those in a relationship reading. That's some good food for thought with what they could represent in a reading.

What my decks mainly focused on was the client's confidence and sense of self. It's like some people aren't happy with themselves unless they have a boyfriend/girlfriend. That and to have realistic expectations.

My cards have done some mean things in relationship spreads before... From just saying Break up, to having all the cards in the spread saying "They don't like you, and never will"

I always feel bad when those come up... I will offer spreads that say stuff like that for free since I know they needed to hear it... but having the cards say it is like a slap in the face.

Trust is a strong card for relationship success in my deck. I really don't like relationship-type readings because every relationship is different, and a majority of the time you cannot connect with both party's energies.

-What cards in your deck do you think strongly indicate events that can occur in a relationship? Such as pregnancy, marriage, buying a house, etc.
My Patience card is actually right on que with pregnnacy, marriage, or anything large that would take time to accomplish. I also feel stregnth and Going With The Flow cards help a great deal with these kind of readings.

-What cards in your deck do you think could indicate a relationship isn't working? Or better yet, not worth pursuing?
Change, the Fool... cards that have a twist of fate to them. The ones in the deck that throw a curvball, because it's bound to mimic the behavior of the relationship.
