The sound of thunder roared across the sky. Rain rushed down from the dark clouds, they rain drops were soaked into the trees, or made it to the ground. The dark mud had footprints already in it. A man walked along the muddy road, he covered his mouth as he coughed. A large sword as sheathed and tied against his back. He wore a dark cloak, that covered his body and face. The trees above were beginning to spread out, and more ran fell. He ignored the rain, and his coughs, as he pushed forward through the mud. His black cloak bore an emblem of two swords clashing. He pushed the hood of his cloak up, he looked to be in his twenties. He looked forward, his eyes moving back and forth. He grinned at the sight of a cave in the distance, and he let the hood fall back over his face. He moved on, he stomped through the mud, which seemed to be getting deeper and deeper. The rain droplets dripped off his sword, the hilt was long and covered in scales. After ten minutes of walking, he soon came to the dark cave. He shook his black traveling boots as he entered, the mud flew off onto the ground and side of the cave. He ventured deeper into the dark abyss, he couldn't find an end, so he decided to walk back to the cave's entrance. He set up camp there, so he could still be dry, and keep a good look out from the cave. He was also worried about what might be lurking in this cave, so he wanted a quick escape. He placed his large sword on the ground, and he sat beside it. He smiled at the sword, and picked it up again. He pulled it over to his lap, and pulled it half-way out from it's sheath. He eyed the black blade, and it had silver carvings of little swords that ran across the blade. He looked up, and sighed. He sheathed the blade, and let it lie on his lap. He would continue to turn his head to look out the cave's entrance. His hand moved to the hilt of his blade. He heard something. He didn't both to get up, and squeezed the hilt of his sword tightly. He had it half sheathed, the double-edged blade was his only protection. He saw nothing, but continued to hear it. The sound of heavy breathing filled his head. He let the hood drop behind his head, his dark hair was dry, and hung above his eyes. As the noise got louder, he began to feel more afraid. He now stood up, the scabbard of his sword lied beside him. His blade was completely unsheathed, and was held out infront of him. He then saw something. The sight of the creature was appalling, it was larger then him, much larger, and had dark green skin. It bore large fangs, that dripped water and blood. It carried a large battle-axe, and it's black eyes eyed the man. It opened it's mouth, showing more rows of teeth, and a split tongue. It roared, and pushed a tree over with it's large clawed hands. It entered the cave, the man looked up at the large beast, that had the unmistakable familiar deep breathing that he has been hearing. It looked down at him, revealing it's rows of teeth once more. The man held the blade tightly, and ran forward at it. It swiped it's battle axe at him, and he barely managed to block it with his sword. He was pushed back, and caught himself on the stone walls of the cave. He ran back in, the beast ran it's large battle-axe down at him this time. He dodged it, and lunged his sword into the leg of the creature. It howled and kicked him back. He slammed into the wall again, this time much harder. He fell over onto his knees, and pushed himself up. The creature was holding it's leg, trying to keep the blood from rushing out. The man gritted his teeth, and ran to the sheath. He picked it up, and escaped from the creature by running back out into the woods. It let out one last roar, and the man was far from the cave. The pain in his back was getting worse. He heard another noise. He couldn't help but laugh. "What bad luck I have today." Laughed the man, as bandits moved out from behind the trees. "I just ran into a fierce creature back there, and I'm not in the best mood, so why don't you all just retreat?" Asked the man to the bandits, who were slowly moving closer. "No? Well..." He stepped forward, and slashed. The bandit split in two and fell over. Another charge in, he ducked and kicked up, breaking the bandit's neck. The limb body fell over into the mud. Two more ran in at the same time, and lunged their daggers forward. He blocked one, and caught the other dagger in his hand. He crushed the blade of the dagger in his hand, and let the metal fragments fall to the ground. Blood dripped from his hand, and he elbowed the bandit and slashed through the other. The bandit escaped, and shouted as he ran. The man looked at his bloody hand, picked out the rest of the metal shards, sheathed his sword, and returned to his walk.

The man soon saw a gate in the distance. The rain was beginning to weaken, and he could no longer hear the roars of the strange beast from the cave. He held his side as he walked, with all his adrenaline gone, he felt the full effect from being thrown into a rocky wall, twice. He grinned to himself, shook his head, and kept walking. "I'm sure she'll heal me..." Said the man to himself, as he neared the gate. The walls of the gates towered high over him, it was made from carved, smooth rocks. The gate was steel bars that were too close together to slip through, but the gate was open. The man walked in through the gate, the guards looked at him, and returned to their business. He sighed, and looked around the city. The granite buildings were not as tall as the gate, but still fairly large. Since the rain has nearly come to a stop, people were out again, even though it was night. They walked down the dirt roads and sidewalks. Some glanced over at him and his sword, but then continued on their walk. He kept walking, and soon came to a large fountain. A small rock carving of a sword was erected at the top of it. He sat down in front of the fountain, and let out a yawn. "Looks like she isn't here y-"
"There you are"! Shouted a woman from a distance. She ran over to him, she wore a tunic with an orb on it, and a skirt. She had long brown hair that flowed behind her. "What took you so long, Benkei?" Asked the woman in a somewhat annoyed tone.
"I ran into some trouble, I tried to set up camp in-" Said the man, now known as Benkei.
"Camp?! You shouldn't waste time with that, and just come here"! Said the woman.
"Traveling at night can be risky though, I'm surprised you even wanted to meet at night,Kame." Said Benkei, scratching his head.
"Night is always better for meetings, you know!" Said the woman, now known as Kame. She sighed and sat next to him. "So what happened with the camp thing?" Asked Kame, her voice became more concerned.
"Eh? Oh, I ran into some giant goblin, and some bandits." Said Benkei, scratching his head. Kame's head perked up at the mention of a giant goblin. He removed his hand from his side, and lifted his shirt to show his damaged side. "Speaking of that, can you hear this?"
"How did this happen!? And why did you even pick a fight with something like that?!"
"Pfft, I wanted the cave." Said Benkei with a grin.
"Your an idiot..." Said Kame, as she placed her hands on his side. Her hands then began to glow brightly. "Be careful next time, okay? Do you know how sad I'd be if you died?"
"Eh? Why would you be sad?"
Kame's face turned red as she finished healing him. "Umm, because you help me make money! The money!"
"Oh, so what quest do you want me to help with this time?" Asked Benkei.
"Hehe, glad you asked." Said Kame with a grin. "A giant goblin."

Benkei sighed as he leaned back on the fountain. "So I have to go back and kill it?" Asked Benkei.
"Yep, but don't worry! You'll have an ally this time."
"Meh."
"Don't 'meh' me! Your going back there, and you are going to kill it, with my help!"
"Fine..." Said Benkei, as he sat up. He stood up and the low moon shined on him. It revealed he was wearing a ring.
"You got a ring?"
"So does Soyen." Said Benkei, scratching his head.
"Wait...Does that-"
"Yep, we got married." Said Benkei with a grin, and a peace sign.
"EH?! WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME?!" Exclaimed Kame, as she jumped up.
"We couldn't find you." Said Benkei with a shrug.
"Pfft, some excuse..." Said Kame, there was some sorrow in her tone.
"So we going to find it now? While it's still wounded?" Asked Benkei.
Kame sighed and stretched. "Yep! You can lead the way." Said Kame, as she kicked his back.
"Ow! Hey!"
"Just giving you a boost." Said Kame with an innocent tone. Benkei mumbled something and started walking. Guards watched them leave the village, but didn't pay much attention.
The two walked down the path, Kame spotted the blood. Then saw the dead bandits lying on the ground. "You can't just leave bodies lying around." Said Kame in a disgusted tone.
"Do you expect me to clean up the bodies and take them somewhere or something?" Asked Benkei.
"As a matter of fact, I do. It would be a proper and more honorable thing to do."
"They are bandits, defilers of the law, they deserve no honor." Said Benkei, Kame recognized his serious tone, and decided not to talk about it anymore.
"So where's Soyen?" Asked Kame. trying to change the subject.
"She wanted to take her own path to this city. She wanted to meet a friend on the way." Said Benkei, his tone became kinder and more carefree again.
"Oh...Wait! Does that mean she's coming to travel with us?" Asked Kame.
"Of course, she was permitted to leave the kingdom."
"Oh yah...Which reminds me." She grabbed a piece of crumbled paper from her pocket. "This quest was given to us by the king of another kingdom." Said Kame, as she traced the paper with her eyes.
"I hate visiting kingdoms, especially ones that I'm not used it. I always used to get lost in the one Soyen lived at."
"Pfft, they're all the same. We just go, give him the head, take our money, and leave."
Benkei sighed. "Sounds good to me." They soon came to a stop at a cave. The sounds of bones crushing and meat being teared from a bone could be heard from inside. "It's feeding...You ready?"
Kame nodded, and with a signal from Benkei, they both rushed in.
