What are your favourite bands and songs? What sort of music do you listen to most, and where? Why don't people post more often?

Hahah, can't enough of the foreign stuff, especially when you're stuck in a place like this and 'the foreign stuff' is almost all there is...

I won't listen to anything not in English, but I do listen to a good variety of overseas stuff. Only two of my favourite bands are American, the others are Australian, English, German, and Japanese.

European music just has that edge over American stuff. It's richer, I've found. And the Japanese stuff is... what can I say, it's crazy, and that's what makes it great.

Finnish stuff? I don't know if I've heard any. Ever heard Maori music? Some of that's really great stuff.

Sorry, I have a bad habit of forgetting Maori only exists here...

The Maori people are, like, the natives of New Zealand, if you will. They sing in Maori [I'm proud to say I speak a bit of the language] and do stuff with poi [little soft balls in the end of strings, the twirl them and stuff] and often use guitars. Sounds awesome, some of it.

Honestly, I have no idea. Wait on, I'll Google a few of the good ones.

That one's a Haley Westenra version of Pokarekare Ana. I don't like Haley Westenra, but she does a good version of this song, and it's a neat song.

Yay, there's a thirty second sample of Poi E on there. That's just an album of all Kiwi tracks. The best ones on the first disc are tracks three, four, seven, and seventeen, and on disc two they're one, two, four, seven, and twelve.

Hm, our little country's not doing too badly for itself, I guess.

Though... Maori songs do sound better when sung by Maori people, this is probably one reason I'm not one hundred percent sure on that version of Pokarekare Ana... Poi E, though. That's good.
