So I completely massacred my ankle at last practice. I'll be okay for Satuday's practice, though. Whew.
Anyone else injured recently?

Um... one of our lieutenants hurt her ankle too. But that's really no good because of a contest tomorrow. I don't know exactly what she did, but hopefully it'll be good by tomorrow or something... I'm sorry to here you got injured too.

Ouch, right before a contest. I hope she's okay.
I'm lucky enough to have hurt myself about three weeks from our first competition, so I should (hopefully) be alright by then.

last december i was on a sled on a hill and my friend unexpectedly pushed me down. i was headed for a wall and i stupidly stuck my leg out to cusion the fall..?(don't know what i was thinking) and my foot hit it straight on. it hurt for a little but eventually stopped...
but then after a couple of months my ankle started hurting more and more and it would seriously hurt whenever i woke up or...did anything rolleyes it got to the point where i wasn't sure i could do guard because of the pain. i went to the foot doctor and he told me my feet wouldn't heal fully unless i got surgery (my mom would never let that happen) or at least i should get therapy (but for some reason my mom wouldn't let me get that either)
my ankle is better now but still hurts sometimes...i just have to live the rest of my life with a messed up ankle crying

There are SO many injuries in our guard. None of them are particularly serious, but they're a pain.... literally.... *cough* Anyway, it's probably because we only get like 2 water breaks in a 3-hour practice..... rolleyes

Majorly injured DDD= So, for the past 5 years, I practice barefoot. I've never had a single problem before, except one blister after a 12 hour practice. So today at practice I have no shoes on and towards the end of the 2 hour practice my feet start to hurt. I take no notice except to put on my shoes/socks. Practice ends adn I drive home, my feet hurt, I plan on taking a good soak to help. I take off my shoes PAIN!!!!!PAINBEYONDMYWILDESTDREAMS!!!! I look at my feet; apparently my toes and ball of the foot turned into one big blister and the skin was ripped off when I took my shoes off. So yeah. I can't walk very well.

I have definitely been in the "o.O wtf?" situation. And the coaches are like, "C'mon! do it!"

I dropped my flag on my foot last year and walked around for two weeks until I realized it still hurt. So I went to the doctor and it turned out I'd been marching on a fractured bone. domokun Huzzah.

Our guard's best dancer... just split-leaped into a wall.
During body warm-up this past weekend, Theresa was supposed to be taking it easy because she already had a sore knee, but she did a split leap right into the wall of the warm-up room. She sprained her ankle, but she's only out for a few days (thank God). Still, it'll probably bother her for a while.
