UFC 125: Resolution - My Predictions
Main card Lightweight Championship bout: Frankie Edgar (c) > Gray Maynard I'm picking Edgar for this fight ... the way he just handled Penn ... in all areas ... from striking to the ground ... sure Maynard is the bigger of the two ... and he does have that win against Edgar ... but that was ages ago (back in 200 cool ... a lot has changed since then ... and I believe that Edgar will have "The Answer" for the "Bully" Middleweight bout: Chris Leben > Brian Stann I believe the major factor for this fight is the weight ... this is only Stann's second fight at middleweight ... and against a guy like Leben ... who always moves forward ... who smothers guys with pressure ... who takes blows on that iron chin that would normally knockout other guys ... not only that, but Leben has a bunch of momentum going into this fight ... coming off two impressive wins ... I see Leben taking this ... Light Heavyweight bout: Brandon Vera - Thiago Silva I have no idea how this one will go ... you got two well rounded guys meeting in the center of the cage ... both confident of their abilities ... both coming from great camps ... sure both coming off losses ... but a win here could easily bring one back into the title picture ... Welterweight bout: Nate Diaz < Dong Hyun Kim This may be a bit biased ... but I never like Diaz ... him or his brother ... or his camp ... that being said ... I believe Kim will handle Diaz ... he is an elite level judoka ... who has very good striking ... most of the guys that Diaz beat were a bunch of strikers ... so I see "Stun Gun" winning this one ... Lightweight bout: Clay Guida - Takanori Gomi I like what Joe Rogan said about this fight ... "They are going to meet in the center of the Octagon and the whole place is going to go into flames." ... this one will definitely have "Fight of the Night" possibilities ... if not "Fight of the Year" ... as to who is winning ... I have not ******** idea ...
Preliminary card (lon TV/ESPN UK/Rogers Sportsnet) Lightweight bout: Marcus Davis - Jeremy Stephens Both are very good strikers with knockout power ... no idea who will win this one ... but this will be exciting ... if not that ... brief ... because I don't see this going to a decesion ... Featherweight bout: Josh Grispi > Dustin Poirier Grispi ... with a win here ... will no doubt be in title contention for Jose Aldo's new UFC belt ... and I see him finishing this one too ... maybe by triangle ... Middleweight bout: Phil Baroni < Brad Tavares This is a classic case of the old guard meet the fresh blood ... both have similar styles ... but I believe that Tavares will weather the storm that Baroni will unload and take this one ...
Preliminary card Featherweight bout: Mike Brown > Diego Nunes I believe Brown only got caught in his last fight ... and no doubt coming into this one with something to prove ... I see him taking this one ... quite easily ... Welterweight bout: Daniel Roberts < Greg Soto Lightweight bout: Jacob Volkmann > Antonio McKee
