♥ | Learnset suggestions for Vaporeon. I've got my list down to

Acid Armor
Aqua Ring
Aurora Beam / Ice Beam
Baton Pass
Brine
Fake Tears*
Muddy Water
Protect
Surf
Wish*
Yawn*

* being moves that need to be bred onto Eevee and therefore might not be possible to get on the same Vaporeon.

Vaporeon's big stat is HP (130 base), with 110 base in Sp. Att and 95 in Sp. Def. So I figured I would try to cater to those stats particularly. Vaporeon has a flop of a Defense stat (60 base), but I left Acid Armor as an option just in case. I'm not too confident, though. neutral

Aurora Beam is in Vaporeon's natural level-up learnset, but is probably best changed out for Ice Beam (higher attack power plus chance of freezing). I will endure exploding Voltorbs to get it a TM. emo

Hidden Power, Toxic, and other suggestions (not on the list) are always an option, too. smile

Also I can't decide between Calm (+Special Defense -Attack) or Modest (+Special Attack -Attack) nature. HELP MEH! O: | ♥

I'm using a Vaporeon in Platinum right now and the moveset I have my sights set on is this:

Ice Beam
Surf
Toxic
Protect

♥ | Yeah, I think moves like those are very good for Vaporeon. It has such a high Sp. Attack that I hate to leave it with only one attack move. It has such a high HP and a decent Sp. Defense that it is also good for support.

I was thinking maybe Brine for a water-type move. It has a base power of 65 but doubles to 130 when the user is below 50% HP. Then Ice Beam for extra coverage, which is good.

Now to decide on the other two moves. O__O | ♥

I have a vaporeon and I'm still working on its move set so at the moment its move set is:
Aurora Beam ----> Changing to Ice Beam
Surf
Bite ------> maybe substitute
Aqua Ring------> Maybe changing to Toxic

I was thinking substitute would be good because vaporeon has a very high HP stat

I would try this better:

Brine
Ice Beam
Acid Armor
Aqua Ring

Remember, Aqua Ring also helps gain HP every turn. And holding either Leftovers or Shell Bell, can help out become an HP Sweeper. :D

I hope mine helped as much as others.
Btw, Impish Nature is usually better.
Or, Timid Nature also helps, if you want to stick with Sp. Attack/Speed/HP. :3

♥ | Thanks, guys. These are awesome suggestions. :3

Though if it were to have only Sp. Atk moves, I would go with Bold nature over Impish, I would think, right?

I can't decide between Aqua Ring and Wish for a healing move. Aqua Ring heals 1/16th HP every turn. Wish heals 1/2 HP, but requires a turn to use it and a turn before it comes into effect. Stacked with Leftovers / Shell Bell, Aqua Ring might be really effective, though.

Good to know someone thinks Acid Armor plus a Defense-raising nature might be a good idea. I'll definitely consider it now.

Looks like I'm sticking with Ice Beam and Brine / Surf for attack moves. >:3 | ♥

Actually, I had forgotten something else for an Ice-move.

Icy Wind (ALWAYS lowers Opponent's SPEED).
And also Aurora Beam works wonders, lowering the Opponent's ATTACK Stat.

♥ | Wow, really? Always lowers Speed? o__0 I've definitely got to check that out!

I noticed that about Aurora Beam, but I figured that at 10% chance of lowering Attack and 10% chance of Freezing (for Ice Beam), it would be about the same in that respect, but with Ice Beam having much more power. | ♥
