Misae shuffled through the fortress with her head low, a peculiar smile still playing at her face. Zsaria had slapped her that morning, the mark was a bright line across her cheek but it hadn't deterred her good mood. After all, it had been her fault, she wasn't sure why but the other lioness had awoken suddenly that morning as if something had startled her. All Misae had been doing was clearing the tired out of her lungs before she headed off to hunt. Perhaps it had been a noise, she hadn't heard anything but then she rarely did. She carried with her now a clutch of half drained rabbit carcasses, and she planned to keep on all for herself for her troubles. She'd probably get slapped for that later too.

Izdihar walked slowly along, wondering how she had gotten herself into this mess. She stared all around her, awed by the fortress around her. The lioness had seen the same thing every day since she'd first been here, but it still amazed her every time.
She was still trying to figure out how this pride worked, since she did it to herself. She let out a little sigh, wishing she could just end up back in her little den.

Before she knew what was happening Misae found herself running face first into a much brighter female. With a bit of a high pitched squeal she bent her head as far as she could, prepared for the impending blow. She hadn't recognized the other but that certainly didn't mean she wasn't a newcome reaver. As a bit of an offering she released one of her rabbits, letting it slop onto the female's feet. Her smile was a bit disturbed as she did, realizing a moment late that her actions had been largely a mistake.

Izdihar didn't see the other lioness until it was too late, stumbling slightly, ears pressed to the back of her skull, she shook her head quickly, "Oh! I'm so sorry!" she said, rushing over to the other lioness and making sure she was alright, "I didn't hurt you, did I?" she asked shyly, wondering why the grey lioness let out a pained squeal.

Staring at the carcass, her head tilted, as she stared at the other again, "O-oh no. I couldn't accept this." with a smile, she nudged it back towards her.

"I'm Izdihar..." the lioness said, perhaps the she would help her get used to the pride.

Giving it back? Another like herself then, or just one who was very kind. Uh oh. It's mouth was moving, calm though. She made a screwed up face, leaning it toward the other's mouth. Nothing, she wasn't talking high then. In response Misae cleared her throat, letting out a medium pitch whine that seemed to always get Zsaria's attention. That was her name then wasn't it, her call? Thinking a bit on her toes she scratched an arrow into the ground, pointed at herself, and repeated the squeal. She wasn't sure what it meant or what it sounded like, but it seemed to work for most things.

"Hm?" Izdihar tilted her head, wondering what the other was doing. She saw the arrow pointing at the other, staring at the lioness and hearing the squeal again. Was that what the other was called by? Izdihar tried to mimic the squeal the best she could, "So is that your name...?" she asked shyly. That was quite odd, she thought to herself. Was everyone in the pride to have a name like that?

Misae managed to hear the tail end of the squeal in her range, and nodded furiously. At least something was getting across, that was more than most times. Most times she just got slapped until she stopped and found something else to do. In response she scratched another arrow beside the one for herself, this one a very angry looking stick lioness holding on to a line that connected back to the original arrow. She tipped her head to the side, gesturing to it and then to the other.

So her name was a squeal? That's what she guessed from her rapid nodding.
Izdihar observed the drawing, wondering who the stick lioness was. The line connecting her and the arrow pointing at the lioness wasn't helping either. They were...connected...? That was the only conclusion she could come to.

Though it suddenly occured to her that probably this other lioness wasn't able to talk properly. That was it right? The lioness pointed at her throat and then pointed at Misae. "You can't talk right?"

The lioness shook her head, and then nodded, a little confused by which was the correct answer. Nothing came out of her throat, well noise did, but nothing she could understand. Thinking that the charades were perhaps a better option than the drawings, she reached a paw up and started to repeatedly brush first one ear than the other. The let out a very high squeal while doing so, one who's vibration was a welcome return to her throat. The squeals had a bit of a therapeutic effect on her, the feeling of making them was something she could grasp and control fairly well.

Izdihar flinched at the squeal, curious as to why she was flicking her ears. "Uhm...uh..." she was very confused, what was she trying to say? "You...something with your ears." wow, this was like a very confusing game. She squealed, wasn't able to actually talk...motioning to ears...oh! "You can't hear!" she grinned, proud that she had figured it out before realizing what she had found out. "Oh..." her ears drooped low, the blossoms behind her ear shifting slightly.

So everything she had been saying was not heard by the grey lioness.

Misae nodded, then realized that the other seemed sad. She tipped her head to the side, letting her paws rest. Oh no, she'd done something wrong. Well, she could cheer her up just like she did her mistress. With a bright smile on her face she began to rock back and forth, doing an odd little dance as she shuffled her paws and flipped her ears. With a little flourish she finished it off with a spin and a sweeping drawing of what looked like a crude sun.

Izdihar looked up, watching Misae move around. Was this a dance? She looked at her movements curiously, wondering what was happening. She had noticed that something was drawn onto the ground as she was doing her dance. A sun?

She blinked slowly, not knowing how to respond. She felt terrible that her new friend was deaf and she would never be able to hear anything ever. "That...was a nice.." she said quietly, forcing a small smile.

The lioness leapt up and down a few times, eager to show that nothing was wrong. Someone always thought it was bad, sad, something she didn't really approve of. After a moment she paused and picked up one of the rabbits, offering it again. She let out a midtone noise, repeating it a few times as she pushed the carcass toward Izdihar. The mistress surely wouldn't miss one.

Izdihar looked at the carcass, "Are you sure it's alright?" she had felt a little less sad that the lioness' disability didn't affect her at all. That was something commendable, she thought to herself.

"Are you sure it's alright?" she asked again, unsure if she should really accept this gift or not.

Misae nodded furiously, moving to chew on one of the other rabbits herself. Mistress might hit her for coming back late, but she could catch a few more quickly enough to make it home before dark. Dark was when she was really in trouble. Her paws were stained after she jabbed the rabbit a few times, and she took a moment to try and lick them clean. Most of it tasted like dirt, possible from her prancing. She didn't mind though, as long as it seemed to convince this other lioness that she wasn't planning to do anything rash. After all, a crazy girl wouldn't keep herself clean, right? She wasn't sure how that worked. Still she watched curiously, glancing between Izdihar and the carcass.
