LUSH Herbalism Cleanser heart heart heart heart

LUSH Claims:
Purifying and exfoliating, herbal cleansing-roll wash.

Herbalism should be used on oily and problem skin. It is a green, squidgy, putty-like paste made from powdered herbs, which are actually perfect for the skin. Noriko worked on tailoring it specifically to a certain skin type.

It's called Herbalism because it goes back to the basics of herbal skincare. It cleanses with kaolin, exfoliates with ground almonds, stimulates with rosemary, uses nettle powder to purge dirt and oil, and chamomile soothes the surface.

How I use:
Take a couple sprinkles of the face wash (which honestly look like kush to me LOLOL) in my palm, then add a couple drops of water to make a liquidy paste.
I also use this as a mask by adding a little more of the cleanser to make a thicker paste and leaving on for a few minutes.

Pros: My face is smooth, skin not as oily, not drying, faint smell, gentle.

Cons: MESSY. MESSY AS ********. Pretty expensive (11.50$ for 3.5oz o.O), it's hard to mix completely, has a 3 month shelf life :/

Price: 11.50$ per 3.5 oz

Repurchase?
Probably not once it expires. It's nice but, for a three month shelf life and how much it costs, I don't think so.

From what I've tried, their bath stuff is nice and they have a lip scrub that is to die for it's so yummy.
But the prices are ******** outrageous. > .>

I work at Lush. The "three month" shelf life is just to cover our butts: it can grow mold if you let water into the jar. I don't, and I've had a jar of Dark Angels for a year and I'm still working on it. 3.5 oz lasts forever for me.

HOWEVER, I don't like 'natural' exfoliants generally. Anything that is a mechanical exfoliator for your face should be spherical with no jagged edges, and that's not true of Lush exfoliators. Jagged edges like ground walnuts, almonds, sugar whatever should only be used on the body, IMO. On the delicate skin on your face it can cause hyperpigmentation, especially on dark skin (which I have: I'm NC50).

I think both Herbalism and Dark Angels are great quick fixes and make good masks, too. I, personally, wouldn't use them long term and daily, though lots of regular customers do and have great looking skin.

BTW, if you use Herbalism or the other paste cleansers in the shower it can make that mess situation a lot easier.

Turkish Delight compared to the largest size shower gel (also around $30 dollars). You only need a tiny bit to cover your body, especially if you use a bath poof. It's still really expensive though. A very expensive, moisturizing treat. (A thousand turkish roses in every pot!)

Sorry the picture's enormous.
Fix'd.
