Okay. As some of you may or may not know, I darkmag07 am making a video game! Its a really neat platformer game where you jump around and collect stuff and shoot other stuff. There is a really outdated demo of it on the website.

Update Blog
The demo has most of the aspects that the new game will/has though and it is still fun to play. 4laugh
UPDATES -7/31/06 -Added the link to my Blog about RZQ
-3/26/06 -I have created a new demo of the game that should be much more like the new one that I have yet to finish all the resources for. CHECK IT OUT!

Nice game man.. I want to go to college for that stuff.. It's my dream to make money from video games.. Your game was rather entertaining.. I didn't think a two dimensional game could be so fun..

DimCrim Nice game man.. I want to go to college for that stuff.. It's my dream to make money from video games.. Your game was rather entertaining.. I didn't think a two dimensional game could be so fun.. I want to make games as a job too. But this is a good start. The program I used was free if you want to try it you can download it from Gamemaker.com. I have the upgraded version that you have to pay $20 to get though so some of the things I have you may not be able to do with it.

Thanks.. I picked up a copy of Game Programming for teens a while ago, and it had a disk with games, programs, and tutorials on how to make games.. I didn't bother reading though.. It had a free game of Galaxiga in it.. eek

I have not heard of that but it sounds pretty awesome. I would hopefully be able to get something like that one day. Or Flash. It is a pretty cool system but it is like $200 so it is outta my price range. xd

It would be cool to make a mmorpg like Dot Hack.. There are so many rumors about one coming out in 2009.. I wouldn't make one exactly like Dot Hack, but as close as I could without breaking the copyright laws.. eek Then I heard you have to pay to host your stuff online.. That told me why people ask for donations and monthly pay for their games.. BTW: Do you know a website that has an online game similar to Dot Hack if you know what I'm talking about.. question

I cant say that I know of any websites with similar games like .Hack but I dont play many online games with dial up. Runscape is about as complex as my connection can handle and even that is buggy.
As for actually creating a game, that would take much more time and knowledge than I have of programming but making a simple 2-D platformer wouldnt be that hard as long as it was mega simple. I have too many problems trying to make my own game more complicated (such as creating a save system... I cant for the life of me figure out how to do it).
