"... You sure you're okay?"
"....."
He hadn't been very responsive since the museum.
He sat against the wall of the mansion, on the ground. He didn't look nearly as neat as normal- hair hair was down, but uncurled, and his white doctor coat still had spots of dirt from the last time he wore it.
Clinging onto his book, he was staring at nothing in particular.
"... You're really creeping me out, Harley...."
----------------------
Later that day, Glace crept into Harley's room. This was a normal thing for her to do, but this time she had a reason. His book. He'd been clinging to it, but snapping it shut whenever she got near...
She didn't like it when he kept things from her, or at least tried this hard.
She picked up the book and flipped through it to see if something was new.
She found it.
A rather hefty paragraph displaying cryptic messages about some green haired girl... It rambled on and on. Glace scanned it interestedly. "... Holy crap..."
She pocketed it, and hurried off to get the authorities.
----------------------
"I think we all know that he's more then a little off, Glace..."
"... Yeah, we know, but I think this is more serious."
She handed the book to the officer.
Copper looked over it. "Bloody..." He didn't finish his sentence. "... I don't think I can take care of this alone."
----------------------
"... You took my book."
He looked up at the reentering Glace.
She handed it back to him.
"They're coming to get you soon."
".... What....
What did you do, Glace...?"
She tried hard to give her general smirk she gave when she was being difficult. "The men in the white coats are coming to pick you up."
He looked up at Glace fearfully. He resembled a little boy. "... What? ... No... I-I'm not..."
Not dealing well with this sort or pressure, Glace turned away from him and entered her house.
She couldn't help but feel bad for him. It was doubtful that anybody could.
She watched the truck drive in and take him away through the window, sighing.
A tear ran down her cheek.
----------------------
Hours later, Harley found himself somewhere outside of Canthry, and outside of home.
In a padded room, at an asylum.
"Welcome home. I never thought they'd chew out somebody from loonyville... I bet the whole town's gonna end up here before long."
The guard shut the door of the cell.
Harley slid down the wall- the best he could bring himself to do, since his arms weren't exactly usable in the straightjacket.
Once he reached the floor, a steady flow of tears came down.
Nobody told him anything. Nothing at all. All he knew was that Glace showed somebody his book and now he was here.
He thought to himself, as there was nothing for him to do but think.
How long would he be here? He wasn't told. It couldn't be for life... right?
After all, he wasn't crazy. He couldn't be crazy....
Water flowed down his cheeks and hit the floor.
He wasn't crazy....
The next day, there was a visitor in his cell.
"... Are you feeling alright, Harley?"
Harley looked up at at the familiar face.
"... Copper..."
He would've stood up, but this was difficult to do without the use of his arms, so he got on him knees instead.
"P-please... Help... I-I'm really not... I shouldn't.... I...."
Copper looked down at the kneeling Harley. "Please, start from the beginning and finish it." He knew that Harley was saying something heartfelt, but he couldn't understand exactly what it was.
Harley breathed hard, trying to gather all the words in the correct order. "I-I don't want to be here... I'm not c-crazy... Don't l-let me die here... P-please..."
Tears yet again streamed down his face.
Copper was hit with a large blast of what was similar to regret. "... Don't worry, you're not here forever... Just a few days to let you mellow out and think."
Normally, Harley would've been insulted by this, but between the current situation and relief that he wasn't spending the rest of his life in a padded cell, he didn't think much of it. "... Thank god..."
He let out a sigh of relief and sat back down.
Copper felt a little better. "... Now, are you not going to do the things you said in your book?" He felt like he was talking to a little boy just being let out of a time out.
"I-I won't."
"Do you think you can stay calm?"
"Yes."
Copper wore a bit of a satisfied smile. "Then let's get you out of here."
----------------------
By the next day, Harley had made it back to Canthry, and back home.
He knocked on his door. (After all, he didn't have any keys with him)
Glace answered, and a smile made its way to her face. "I missed you, you know."
"Really?"
"No." she lied.
