Whenever a Pokemon helps to defeat or capture an opposing Pokemon, they will gain Experience Points. Once they have gained enough of these, the Pokemon will gain a level. When your Pokemon gains a level, you will be able to give them an additional stat point. In addition to this, the Pokemon may gain a new move or evolve when they level up. Evolutions will be covered in greater detail in the Evolution thread, located in the game system sub-forum.
The information regarding the levels required for evolution for individual Pokemon can be found in the Pokemon Database thread, located in the game system sub-forum.
Each Pokemon requires a certain amount of Experience Points to level up. Once they acquire enough Experience Points, they will gain a new level. The following chart will describe how much experience a Pokemon will need for each level.
The first number is the Pokemon's level, the second number is the amount of Experience Points required to reach that level.
