FINAL FANTASY Dissidia 012

The Story
This entry of the Dissidia series focuses on the cycle of war that took place before the first game, 12th Cycle. Aside from this, small things have been mentioned about the characters. Lightning is a Cosmos warrior but Warrior of Light called her a "traitor" in the trailer. Kain is also on Cosmos's side but seems to be a bit rebellious (no surprise there). Tifa seems to not remember Sephiroth. Cloud and Tifa also seem to be strangers, their memory of their friendship lost.

Characters
Everyone from the first Dissidia will be returning for Dissidia 012. Along with them, we're getting new characters; more than 3 or 4. Every character also has a second alternate look now, and some will even get DLC costumes. There will also be many new playable characters; more than 3 or 4. So far, we have Kain, Lightning, and Tifa confirmed. Bobby Edner, VA for Vaan said he was doing new voice work for him again. For Duodecim maybe?

Gameplay
There will be changes everywhere. Some characters, like Firion, will play differently in battle now. They're also introducing many new gameplay mechanics. The only one that has been shown so far is known as Assist Mode, where the player (or enemy) can call upon an allied character to aid them in battle.

All stages that were present in Dissidia are making a comeback in 012, as well as summons. Naturally, they're adding more of both in 012, as well.
