Comment Here Character pics- [[ Sora ]] [[ Sho ]] ((More coming soon))
Sora leaned out her window, breathing in the cool night air. Her eyes began to close as she watched the pale stars above. When she looked again, her eyes opened wide, staring at the empty black sky, suddenly empty of the myriad of stars. She pulled back, about to leave her seat by the window, when suddenly she turned the light of her room out, climbing out the window. Outside, she stood up slowly, pressing her hand against the cool, wet grass for support. She stared at a point in the sky where a single dull light shone like a pale beacon. Her frosty breath came out on the midnight air as she ran towards a spot beneath that beacon. When she arived, many others were there, staring up at the sky. She walked slowly into the mysterious crowd... not one of them spoke, but an eerie glow seemed to radiate from each of them. Sora slowly lifted her hand, inspecting the pale blue aura coming from her skin. Instictively, she looked up, as did everyone else. The sky grew blacker, and the crowd was siloueted, their auras fading. After a while, Sora couldn't tell wether or not her eyes were open as her vision blackened. Nobody dared to break the precious silence, and not a single word was spoken amongst them. Eventualy, they all fell into an unsure shallow sleep.

The next morning, Sora's father came downstairs from his room. When he arived in the empty room, he curiously turned around, heading for Sora's room. When he arived, he found his wife standing before the door to their daughter's bedroom, her head lowered slightly as she looked at the open window of the empty bedroom.
Sora awoke on a small hill that looked just like the one that she had fallen asleep upon... but nobody was there. She stood slowly. She looked towards where her house was... and there was nothing. It looked the same as her home, but there were no signs of civilization. She gasped, walking a bit, nervously running, looking for help or any sign of civilization. Eventualy, she became worn out, and she leaned against a tree to rest.
She fell into a short sleep, waking a while later to hear a snicker. She looked around desperately, wondering if she had finaly found human life. She heard it again, but there was no one in sight... "Up here..." The voice whispered. She whiped her head up, suddenly gasping in suprise as she saw a face peering down at her through the overhanging branches of the tree. The person smiled mishcviously, disapearing up into the tree. Sora scrambled up to her feet, looking around. Suddenly, it apeared next to her. She turned in suprise, to see what it was... It apeared like a human, slightly taller than her, with spiky black hair... although he had a white tail like a wolf's. He had human hands, although he had claws. Also, he had canine fangs and white dog ears. He wore a black shirt and baggy black jeans, and he seemed to act like a modern human. She gasped and stepped back. "What ARE you??!!" The creature narrowed his eyes and gasped as if he were insulted. "Well excuse me if you hav a problem with my presence or something!" He jumped up in a flash, disapearing into the trees. Sora was perplexed. "What the heck was that...?"

She growled in annoyance as she heard the cackle of the creature from up above her. She grabbed a strong brang on the tree and began to climb. After a long effort, she finaly made it up onto the branch. She sat there to rest, only to find the creature crouching besides her, the mischevious look still on his face. "Boo." Sora growled. "You! Quit fooling around and help me! Where the heck am I?!" The boy fel back laughing, landing on a branch below. "Hehe! You wonder where you are... What's the use of knowing where you are if you can never go back?" Sora's eyes widened, her pupils shrinking. "I... can never... What?!"
The boy swiftly climbed up onto a branch above her, laying on the limb and leaning his head on his hands as he looked down at her. "Welcome to my world. I've been stuck here for so long now." Sora blinekd in suprise. "You're from earth?!" The boy nodded. "Yeah. And look at me now... the same will hapen to you." His coment was met with Sora's gasp. After a moment, she groaned. "You've got to be kidding me. This is the worst dream ever." The boy laughed. "But this isn't a dream." He swung back down to her branch, sticking out a clawed hand. "Well, Hi. I'm Sho." Sora shook his hand, an annoyed look stuck on her face. "Just wake me up when the dream is over."

After a while of silence, Sho began to laugh and circle her. "You fell for it! The glamorous sky!" Sora glared at him. "What's that supposed to mean?!" She continued to laugh. "It means that, like all of those other people, you went to the portal. Every ten years, a portal is formed, and strange celestial phenomenons atract people to the portal. Then, the worlds suck them up. You just happened to be brought to this world." Sora growled. "No! This looks just like home, without the civilization!" Sho scoffed. "Then you're lucky. There's a shadow world, there's a demon world, there's a stone world... all are fixed mirors of earth, and you ended up in the Vale." Sora blinked. "The Vale?? What kind of a name is that?!" Sho rolled his eyes. "A name you'll have to get used to." He suddenly disintegrated into the air, leaving Sora alone in the strange empty forest.

She stood unblinkingly, looking around. "... Sho?" A black cloud hovered in the distance, and there was a strike of lightning. The sound of a crying infant filled the air. Sora ran towads the source of the sound. When Sora reached the area, she saw an infant human lying on the ground, a strange glow radiating from the head. When she looked closer, she found a strange symbol burnt onto the head, glowing like fire. She placed her hand lightly on the burn, but suddenly lames sprung up around her hadn. As they died away, Sora lifted her hand... and the symbol was gone. She gently lifted the infant in her arms, carrying it back towards the forest. When she returned to the forest, she crouched beneath a tree, setting the infant on the ground and inspecting it. Sho apeared next to her. "Aww, how cute..." Sora turned towards Sho as she heard his coment. "It had a marking on its head when I found him..." Sho tilted his head in curiosity. "Ah? WHat did it look like?" Sora drew the symbol in the dirt. Sho cringed. "No, no! You don't want this child! Leave it! Throw it off a cliff! Cast it into the ocean!" Sora was perplexed. "What?!" Sho kicked dirt over the symbol on the ground. "This child... ungh... it's a demon-born!" Sora tilted her head. "heh?" "It means it was born in the demon world and brought here by the portal... they're the worst when they come here as children!" Sora looked sympatheticaly at the child, who was crying now. "Aw... no! We have to take care of it..."

Sora turned in confusion as Sho disapeared again, but suddenly there was a flash. Something shred through the air, and suddenly a row of bleeduing streaks apeared on the infant's shoulder. Sora gasped, but was suddenly speachless as the infant's eyes opened; a milky white. They seemed to have an eerie glow, and suddenly, she felt a shock go through her body as she released the infant. Before in hit the ground, there was a blinding flash... followed by mist rising from the ground around a large black dragon. Sora backed away in terror as the dragon's shoulder flesh pulled itself back together. The creature opened its monterous jaws, revealing two rows of sword like teeth. She backed against the tree helplessly as the dragon swished its gigantic tail and looked around through pearl like iridecent eyes. It sniffed the air; smoke blowing from the nostrils. The symbol flashed across its forehead; a glowing arc with a streak through the center. The dragon turned its monsterous head towards Sora, growling as it came close, forcing Sora against the tree. Just as she closed her eyes out of pure terror, she felt something pull her up by the shirt colar. She opened her eyes to find herself on a branch next to Sho. The boy grabbed her arm as he launched himself up to the next branch, grabbing at it frustratedly as he fought to get above the range of the gigantic dragon. As they reached a branch near the top of the tree, the dragon spread iredecent black wings, pushing them down and forcing the air to boost him into flight. It slowly rose and hovered before Sho and Sora, his eerie glowing eyes flashing in their petrified faces...

As smoke blew at her face, Sora suddenly yelled out. "Okay, I'll beleive you! It isn't a dream!" She opened her eyes. The dragon was still there, hovering, rage embedded in her blank eyes. "What is this, some kind of fairy tale?" Sora was almost in tears now. She looked at Sho for reasurance, only to find his face grim. He shook his head. "No... it's far worse..." Sho's eyes opened, staring at the dragon. The symbol on the monster's forehead lit up, flashing across repeatedly. Sho stared into the blank eyes unblinkingly, and suddenly, the symbol faded and the dragon slowly shrank until it reached the ground, becoming a young black-haired girl, lying unconcoius on the groun. Sho's eyes closed and he moaned weakly, losing his balance and falling from the tree limply.
Later, Sho woke to find a fire before him. On the other side of it sat Sora, and to his own side was the unconcoius dragon girl. Sora spoke. "She's breathing, but she hasn't moved since she transformed..." Sho glared at Sora. "I can't beleive you left her alive! And you're TAKING CARE of her!! You are such a stupid idiot!" Sora snapped back. "I'm not stupid, you're just insensitive! Maybe it wasn't her fault, the whole dragon thing..." Sho was raging now. "What do ou mean, not her fault?! DOn't you get it? She IS the dragon!!" Sora sighed. "I know, but maybe she can't control it! We have to give her a chance..."

Sho folded his arms. stubornly. "You're just like her..." Sora turned her head in sudden curiosity. "Just like who?" Sho glared at her, rolling his eyes. "Nobody." There was a long, awkward silence for a few ours until the dragon girl began to stir. Sora was first to break the silence. "Do you think she woke up?" Sho edged away in disgust. "I sure hope not... I hope she rots slowly and painfuly." A ember heated branch was flung across the flames at Sho. Sora glared at him. "Shut up or I'll let you rot next time you're in trouble." Sho scoffed. "As if I'd ever need your help. You're the hopeless one. I'm the native one here..." Sora sat up, durning her head towards him yet watching the flames. "you were from earth too, though..." Sho shrugged. "I've been here for around 200 years now..." Sora gaped. "You're... how old?!" Sho laughed. "217 years old. What're you, 8?" Sora glared insultedly. "Why you idiot..." She was interupted by a groan from the dragon girl. She slowly sat up, opening light gray eyes slowly. "...Where am I?"
For a long time, Sora and Sho stared at her with half-frightened faces. The girl stared at them blankly. She slowly tilted her head in curiosity. When she turned her head towards Sora, Sho turned his head and muttered. "Damned demon-born..." The girl could obviously hear his coment, but she showed no concern what so ever. The girl loked at sora, noting the fear in her eyes and then noticing the blood on the ground around Sho that soaked through his shirt around a gash in his shoulder. "Oh, I'm terribly sory..." She cast her head down in shame. "It must have happened again..."

Sora's eyes lit up sympatheticaly. "No, no, it's alright, really.. .you didn't mean to, right?" The girl kept her head cast down, the rune on her forehead coming and fading periodicaly. Sho growled in rage, grabbing the girl by the shoulder and pushing her against a nearby tree. "You demon-born monster, you're just trying to trick her! Well, let me tell you something, I'm not an idiot like she is!" Sora stood, about to make a comment on Sho's insult, when suddenly she seized a hot branch from the embers, flinging it at Sho. "You shut up! She's gone through enough already!" Sho spat on the ground with disgust, suddenly drawing a partialy rusted katana from his belt, pressing it towards the dragon girl's throat. "Time to die, demon..." His pupils shrank and his gold eyes flashed with eagerness to let out his rage. Sora came up behind Sho, swinging a branch from his side, knocking the blade down a bit. "You don't know what you're doing, Sho!" The wolf boy swung his arm back, sending a blow at Sora with the flat of the blade. "Shut up!" He swung the blade back up to focus on the dragon girl, who was shivering helpless, her gray eyes filling with tears.
The girl's mouth opened slightly to speak as tears began to sweep down her pale face. She let out a stammering shreik. "Honestly, I- I didn't mean to!" Sho's blade flashed, turning in the air as Sho spun, thwacking the girl hard in the side of her face with the flat of his blade. The blow sent a shock through her body as she fell, cowering helplessly on the ground. Sora scrabled up, sending a slap at Sho's face. "What are you doing? She's only a young girl!" Sho glared at her and sneered, throwing his sword to the ground and dissapearing up a tree. "Don't worry. I'll be back to kill you both." As he dissapeared, Sora fell to her knees, gasping for breath and quivering. "Would he really kill us? Why didn't he just do it now?" She looked over towards the dragon girl, just to find that she was gone.

She crouched, lifting Sho's rusty sword. She looked around as she stood. Alone... again. She threw the blade in pure rage, not even looking as she heard the metalic clang of metal on metal. She narrowed her eyes, feeling a presence behind her. "Leave me alone. I've had enough today." She felt the presence silently sweep closer. She suddenly turned, just to have her vision suddenly engulfed by shaddow. She tried to yell, only to find her voice muffled by a dark covering that she had just been enclosed in. She tried to tear out the boundries, only to find her mtion limited so much, her arms were pracicaly bound to her sides. She felt herself fall over, hitting the ground hard. She took a rock to the head on her ground facing side. Just as she was recovering, she groaned, just to be silenced by a sharp, angry blow of a metal-toed boot through her covering. It sent her vision pitch back as her mind flashed, going red with pain. Later, she found herself awakening upside down. She was hanging from the ceiling of a small, dark cave, her arms and feet bound, her mouth muffled. Someone came up from behind to blindfold her. She heard a grunting laugh, followed by a series of gruff unearthly voices and one more human-like voice. "We got another, boss." "Good, perfect... Any spoils?" "Ha, yeah right, her pockets were bone dry. She's broke; it's pathetic." "Oh well. We'll find her to some value..." Sora felt something push her from behind. She tried to let her muscles go limp, which wasn't so hard as the blood rushed to her head... She suddenly held in a grunt of pain as she was prodded sharply with a wooden, metal-spiked club. The voices began again. "Is she dead?" "You blundering idiot, you killed our prisoner?" Sora held her breath as she heard a squabble of voices, speaking an indistinguishable forein language. Right as she took a gasp of air, she was pushed hard by someone. The breath was nocked out of her, and the voices muttered. "Ah, she's still alive..." "Think you can trick us, huh, little girl?" She felt the rope holding her up snap as she fell, her back hitting the cold, stone floor hard. She groaned as she felt a heavy metal-lined boot step on top of her, kicking her and rolling her over, her back facing up. They stepped hard on her back, and she felt the cold threat of steel on the back of her neck.

Blood oozed from her mouth as she moaned in pain, silenced by the stone floor.. She felt the steel slide very lightly down the back of her head, cutting the blindfold. She lifted her head limply, her eyes widening s she watched a blue tinted liquid slip into the blood. She suddenly felt lightheaded, and she saw a faint blue glow. Her aura was coming back... The human voice sounded, followed by his minions. "She's not from here... she must be new. The auras don't last long before the transformations begin..." "What?! Are you saying we missed the portal? Again?!" "Yes. I think she's from earth, so that portal won't open again for at least nother twenty years... But we can wait. Just more time to finish the plan." The voices were just a faint slur in Sora's mind as she tried to concentrate on her surroundings. She was dizy, but she slowly managed to crawl to her knees. Her captors wer silent as she fas finaly able to see them. It took Sora only a few moments to recover from shock. Not much could suprise her anymore. There were three creatures, who almost looked like trolls from fairy tales. They had tough grey skin, yellow eyes with a dumfounded expression permanently imprinted onto their aged faces around fanged mouths. They were short, slow, and heavy, yet muscular. Their lacked intellegance was made up for in brute strength and intimidation. They each carried a heavy spiked club and a rusted axe. She turned slowly to view the human leader... He was tall with catlike yellow eyes. He possesed long white hair that was stained with a golden tinge, but occasionaly you could see the faint tint of blood crimson radiating from him. He bore fangs and a snakelike tounge, and his expression betrayed his mischevious and crafty nature... he was obviously not one to mess with. The man smirked. "You will enjoy your new home, I trust." The laughing of the trolls could be heard as she felt herself dragged form the ground, to the back of the small cage into a small iron-barred cell. She slammed against the stone wall, still stunned and bound. Her mouth bind had been removed, and she was growiling with rage now. The captors wandered away as they laughed, but Sora grew silent as she heard a slightly familliar voice, distant and muffld. It was coming from some distant chamber far behind her, connected to her small cave by dark winding tunnels barely visible from her position. She closed her eyes, hearing a second fammiliar voice. She pulled herself hard against the wall, trying to make out the voices...

She heard the first voice again, but the second voice had stopped. The voice growled and yelled, and clags and thumps could barely be heard echoing through the tunnels. She heard a squeal of agony come from a troll, followed by aloud angry shout from the human leader. Sora closed her eyes as she heard footsteps running into the room. She quickly looked to see the human throwing a troll roughly forth, straight out into the dry, empty void of a canyon. The man turned back towards the tunnels, facing Sora and hissing, his snake toung flickering out between his fangs. "What're you looking at, prisoner?!" Sora gulped. As the snake man wandered out via tunnel, sora turned towards a tujnnel on the other side of the cage, just in time to see something fly into the cave. It was Sho, his hands bound as he crawled to his feet, ignoring Sora and running towards the canyon, followed by the troll. He turned ot of the cave, running down a narrow ledge. Sora listened and waited... only to find nothing.

Her eyes widened as she heard voices coming from around the bend outside the cave, and her lack of vision left a lot to the imagination. Sho's vengeful voice mixed with the inhuman grunts of the troll. "Hiii-yaaaaa! Take that, you-" "Arrrrrgh! Ngraaahh grrrrrrrrr!" She heard the sounds of lots of painful thuds and clashes. In the end, she heard the anguished yell of the troll, followed by Sho re-entering the cave, casting a quick glance at Sora, yet walking right past the cage back through the tunnels. After a while, she felt like she was watching some sort of a movie; an unafected bystander as the dragon girl camr running out of the cave, jumping at the canyon start and disapearing into the dry abyss. A troll came out, grunting with confusion befor Sho was behind him, smashing a rock into the back of his head. Sora blinked in suprise as suddenly the girl flipped up over the canyon edge, back into the cave. Sora tilted her head. "Hellooooo! Forgetting someone?" They both glanced at her, giving her a strange glare. Sho walked away, jumping down into the canyon. Dust rose as he could be heard sliding down the canyonside. The dragon girl's fingers turned into a black dragon tallons. She put a claw in the lock to the cage, twisting it and stepping in, untying Sora's binds and walking away. Sora stood. "Hey, wait! You're just gonna leave me here?" The girl turned. "Sho and I agreed, it's best that we all split up and try to never cross paths again." Sora gaped in disbeleif. "But you can't just leave me here! I don't even know where I am?" The young dragon girl sighed, turning and giving Sora a strange look. "Fine. You can come with me until you get used to this place." She stuck out a small human hand. "By the way; I'm Hikaru." Sora nodded, shaking the young girl's hand. "Hello, Hikaru. I'm Sora." They both nodded, walking silently out onto the canyon's edge.
