Just a random question, does any one else here have to hide who they are from their family? I come from a crazy fanatic family were just about everything is considered satanism except for their religion and their morals. Which personally I think is wrong and a bunch of lies. I can only be myself around a small group of friends who know just about everything about me. Is any one else going through this?

Yes I have to hide myself with my family D: But not with my friends XD Anyway, I didn't understand the Satanist part. Just asking 'cause I'm kinda curious. That's all.

I used to hide myself, but I still feel like I can't tell everything because my mom is homophobic and thinks I am going through a phase. I think not.

I have to deal with my mom's homophobia. I guess she is not completely terrible with them since she has some gay friends and stuff. But she is totally grossed out by it. I really don't understand what's so wrong with it

@ Elika, They believe that anything that is not their way of morals and thinking is devil worship. It is kinda confusing because they are constantly contradicting themselves. Which makes for interesting thinking and ranting. XD
@Tsuki, most of my friends who are also religious, but not as crazy as my family, think it's just a phase, and it is bloody annoying when they say that.
@TYL'ers, I'm glad that I found you because I need someone who understands what I'm going through, because you yourselves have gone/going through it.

Only 2-3 people know. >_< My mom actually told me and my sister that she would rather not know that way she didn't feel like she had to disown us. She said this the year I first had a crush on a girl, before that I had pushed girls away from me unconsciously, because of my family. Till this day I have very little friends that are girls, but most of them don't know. It really hurt when she said that. I knew that my family would disown me, but it still hurt like hell to hear them say it.

I do. My cousin is 27 and is lesbian. My parents STILL think she's going through a phase. I'm afraid of what they'll think of me,

What I don't understand is how they think that it is a choice. I mean would people really choose to be discriminated against? Look at all of the crimes that were done against the gay community. There is murder and bullying that leads to suicide in some. How can they say it's a choice. I for one did not choose this... No matter it is who I am. It's me, not a choice I made, like liking black or listening to rock. It's me, why can't they accept that?

@gundam22 Thankfully the people I'm really close to are either really open minded or bisexual as well. What I hate is how my family is constantly bitching about how being gay is "against gods will, and is what is screwing up our nation." Which unfortunately is one of their favorite topics.

Well I'm just a f*cking chicken to tell my parents. My closest friends know that im Bi and they don't care. So far they have asked me my type of girls I like and when we go shopping they ask me which ones are hot and which wasn't. I have a blast with them and they make me laugh super hard now. Though I have to say at each person on here that you gotta take a jump. Well out of friends first then family. So far my friend has been trying to make me tell my family just scared to. Like I said.
