This was a short story i wrote for a Christmas story contest on Gaia. What do you guys think?

Title : Last Mistletoe
Author : ME!!!!! heart
Author’s Notes : This is a short clip of a short story about first love.

Story :
I was already so dark outside, and I couldn't feel my fingers. The bus station was closed so I had to sit outside on the snow covered bench waiting for the eight-o-clock bus to arrive. I couldn't see through the falling snow to well and there was only the one street light right above the bench and this road was seldom traveled on. I was just so tiered and it was to cold out to stay awake.
Soon I found myself drifting off in to a dream. It was exactly a year ago and at this same place.

I was siting on the bench cross legged socking up the last of the sun as it set on that rare worm Christmas eve, and Nick stud leaning agents the light poll next to me.

The silence was killing, “So, you got everything?”

He looked down at his backpack that was laying next to his foot, “Yeah. I don't think I forgot anything. But I don't want to forget you.” He laughed at his own cheesy joke but I could only force a smile.

“Well don't, ok? Remember me up there in the big city.”

I saw the bus turn the corner and stud up to hug Nick one last time before he left. As we hugged he bent down and whispered in my ear, “I have something for you. Its so you don't forget me.”

He stepped away from me and pulled a small light box no bigger then the palm of my hand from out of pocked. As he placed the little box in my hand the bus pulled up to the curve and honked its horn. Nick picked up his bag and then looked at me, waiting for me to open his gift. I fumbled with the ribbon a moment or two before he untied it for me. I opened the box and pulled out the smallest mistletoe I had ever seen and held it up to the light.
Nick reached up and laced his fingers through mind so that the mistletoe dangled down above us.

He looked down into my eyes and whispered, “I've been waiting for this chance since the day I met you.”

With his free arm wrapped around my back holding me to him tight, and my free hand in his hair, We kissed. Long and deep, the way all first kisses should be. I knew he didn't want to let go, neither did I, but he had a bus to get on and it was going to wait around, so I was the first to pull away.

My eyes started to sting when I looked up at him, “You have a bus to get on.”

He smiled back, “I guess I do.” He bent down and kissed me on the head.

As he let go of me and got on the bus I swallowed my tears. I only wanted him to remember my smiling face as the bus drove away.

As the bus rolled away he yelled out the back window, “Marry! I'll come back! This exact time next year! I promise!”

I waved and waved until the bus turned the corner and was out of sight. Then I checked my watch, 8:01.

Waking up suddenly I looked at my watch, 8:02. He didn't keep his promise. I should have known that he wouldn't have come back.

I got up and brushed off the snow. As I began to walk away I heard someone call my name. I turned to find a cold looking man standing at the doorway to the bus station, “Yes?”

He asked, “Are you the girl who was here last year with that boy who went to the city?”

I nodded.

“I'm sorry to be the bringer of bad news, but it seems you hadn't heard. That bus crashed last year. No one survived.”

Title: How I met this guild.
Author: Yours truly, me. A work of fact/fiction I pretty much came up with from the top of my head and went along with. xD

Story: Tis was quite another cold, windy day in the steel city of Aekea of doing nothing in particular. Here I sat in my small apartment complex overlooking the mountain ranges of Gaia wondering where all my friends happened to be at this time. I keep a few places in memory to take the effort to visit which include the guilds around town and the marketplace. Other than that i'd either hang out with friends and throw away time like trash invested in video games, or occasionally lurk about the community board in town to see what amazing crap I most likely did not care about was going on. I don't know. It just helps pass time...

As I was heading back to my home to settle for the night a beep in my head, one of those annoying blue screen of death tones, began to irritate my being, so I had to use telekineses to find out what was going on to find out I had a recent spiritual visit from an unknown gaian. You see, we gaians are connected in more ways than you know as strange as it may sound...And we can get what you may call a sneak peak. A preview so to say of any particular person so long as they didn't block off telepathic connection to strangers. When I saw the name of this person I did what any like minded gaian would do in response. Send back a message that makes the least bit of sense!

Well it's something I do. I like seeing the reaction of these people. Throw them off balance and get a good chuckle as well as make quite a first impression. Of course with a stranger sending back was the shocker for this girl. She had only taken a small glimpse of my mind and I initiate conversation just for that, but this didn't result in anything terrible. I was just spewing out ten fold random as this girl, whom I discover her name as Ryssa, asked me to join a guild. Now this wasn't much surprise either. I've received invites to multiple guilds mainly Roleplay wise, but this congregation was different in it's own right. It had a selection for writing and stories.

You may not think of me as such but I did have quite the interest and imagination to write when I wanted to, whether my product were acts of spatting brain spew or took for more serious tone. The problem was my own will to even try to get into something...my motivation or something was broken and I just couldn't find a doctor, or better here a mechanic to get inside and fix me up. Maybe though it's an act I have to push and work myself to achieve. If I at least put in my effort then I would see something there! Much better than idling and expecting something. So I took her offer and now plan to visit and try to contribute into 'When Stars Fall'. To be honest the name got me too. Stars in general are pretty crazy as they are, but FALLING? Wow.

Title: Sadly Not A Dream
Author: Me
Story:

Dear, My Best Friend In The World

We all expected this but only some of us were ready for it. It begin this morning and all the kids sneaked out of their homes. While the parents slept we put on our suits. While they dreamed of sheep we stocked the shelves with food. We are ready. Every one gets in to their Space Ships and launches up into the sky.
We leave our parents and older siblings.
We leave our planet.
We leave our home.
But We have no fear were doing what the grown-ups never thought of, We're going to start over. Sure we will forever miss the ones we have left behind but we need to go before the grown-ups destroy every thing. We were told to not tell any grown-ups about this journey but i just had to tell you. I Love You
-----------Love,Your Brother

I woke up this morning to screams coming from the streets. I run to my window to find the streets filled with adults crying filling the streets with tears. The sky was filled with streaks of smoke in every possible direction. I walk down stairs to see my dad and mom clinging to a picture of my ten year old brother. I think to myself that this must be a dream. I walk back to my room to find a letter on my dresser written in black crayon was my name. As i read all i could do was hope, hope that one day my brother would be successful. I hope that he never forgets me because i shall never forget him. A single tear runs down my face as i walk to my window and look up into the sky.
"Good Luck, Friend. Good Luck."

Thaddious said leaving to the dome in the main hall of the space station. "I will try Thaddious. I will try for her. I will try for Jen..." She said looking around for clothes to give me so i can hurry up. "Im glad you two are doing great. My brother feels the same for you even if he doesnt show it. "I will get stronger today, and everyday until i cant get any stronger. Tittle : No such thing as love
Author : ME! Duh!
Author's Note : This is a short character story/bio for my OLD avi. (Old avi pic at bottom)
Story :
It was a mess. The deep crimson is going to stain everything if i don't clean it soon. Carefully maneuvering around the body i picked up the ripped sheets off the floor and rolled up the rug. That might not come out of the rug. I bundled up the sheets at threw them into the washer before grabbing the scrub brush and bleach. This was going to be interesting. Averting my eyes from his mangled body, i started to scrub the splattered crimson flowers that covered the walls. It wasn't as hard as last time now that i knew to scrub it off before it stained. Once the red was almost gone i flushed the pinkish bleach water and grabbed the paint from under the sink. I hummed our song while i repainted the walls his favorite color. The smell of forest green paint greatly covered the smell of his empty vestal. While the paint dried i made us pancakes, even though i knew he wasn't able to join me to eat them.

I pondered what i might do with him now. I could set him a flame. No, to stinky. Barry him? No, he might be dug up by animals. I looked out the window into the nearby forest. Chop him up and feed him to the wild animals? That might work. I finished my pancakes and left his on the table to get soggy. As i made my way back to the bed room i saw my reflection in the hall and stopped to gaze at the damage. My hair was tousled and there were scratches on my neck from the struggle. This sight make me think back to what happened.

It had been move night and we where watching "The Never Ending Story". I was busy watching the movie but he was distracted by something. I asked him what was wrong and he just shook his head and pretended to go back to watching the movie. Trying to go back to watching the movie was hard with him fidgeting next to me. When the movie ended i walked with him out to his car and he kissed me goodbye, but the kiss was to short and then he was just standing there holding my hand until i asked him again what was wrong.

He ran his free hand through his brown curly hair and sighed as if giving up, "Ryssa, I've been fighting with myself over this all evening. But I decided that even though you don't believe doesn't mean i can't."

I wasn't sure what he meant but i was keeping silent to let him finish.
"I love you Ryssa. And i always want to be with you."

My mouth drooped open and i couldn't close it. When i found my train of thoughts again i closed my mouth and i knew that this wouldn't do. Something had to be dun about him.

Holding on to his hand tight, not bothering to make sure my claws didn't cut into him, i led him back to the house. I could tell he didn't think twice about following. He must have thought i was leading him back to the house for other reasons, but he had it all wrong. To night wasn't going to be the greatest night of his life like he was most likely thinking that line would get him. But what he didn't know is this would be his last night.

The sound of my phone ringing brought me back from the scene of last night. I looked at the caller ID to see that it was my friend Will was calling. I picked up the phone, "Yeah?"

"Oh! Hey, Ryssa," there was a long silence as if he didn't know what to say, "Um, I was wondering is you want to hang out tonight." He stuttered over the last part of the sentence and i had to keep myself from laughing.

"Yeah Will. That sounds great. I have some things i have to take care of first though. It's a date?"

He sounded relieved but surprised, "Yeah. A date. I'll pick you up tonight then? See you then."

We said our good byes and hung up.

I looked back into my reflection. The marks on my neck where almost healed. I tucked my blue hair behind my horns with my claws as i smiled and headed back to the bed room to get rid of my jolly green giant once and for all.

This is just a story I wrote out quickly last night. I figured I might as well share it. It's probably not my best work, but feedback is appreciated.

The rotten wood door splintered under Merik's war hammer.

A scowl crossed Layn's face. “There were quieter ways to do that, you know.”

“So?” he asked. “The Lich would have known we were here as soon as we started bashing up his minions anyway. Besides, this way was faster than digging around for the key.”

“Fine,” she relented. “Let's just get this over with.” Readying her trusty staff, she slowly walked into the Temple of Death, the thick rain beating down upon the hood of her robes.

Merik lit his torch, and followed her, the stench of decay hung in the air. “So, why are we after this Lich in the first place?'

“Don't you ever pay attention?” Layn groaned. “The Lich stole the Staff of Fire from the Demon Lord Bane's tomb, and is using it to-”

“No he's not.”

“I beg your pardon?”

“He's not doing that.”

Layn glared at him, the faint crimson glow of her sorceress eyes piercing through the gloom. “What are you talking about?”

“We already found the Staff of Fire, remember?” Merik replied. “The thieves of Dursk stole it, then hid it under the Labyrinth of Sands. You're actually holding it right now.”

Layn looked down at her staff, sure enough, etched into the handle were the familiar runes of fire. “I... yes, now I remember, my mind must have been more fatigued from our travels that I thought.”

“So, why are we here?”

“Well, I believe-” an unearthly scream interrupted Layn's speech.

Merik held up his torch. “Looks like the first of the Lich's henchmen.”

Out from the shadows crawled a hideous and deformed creature, sown together from the rotting flesh of the Lich's previous victims.

“Leave this to me,” Merik yelled as he tossed the torch to the ground, and readied his silver hammer.

The beast shambled towards him with an inhuman speed, it's many mouths all locked into expressions of pain and rage.

It raised one of it's clawed arms and slashed towards Merik, except he'd been prepared for this, by the time the claws would have connected with him, he'd moved about three feet to the right, and slammed his gigantic hammer into one of it's many jutting spines.

The beast howled in frustration and rage, and swung again, with that the same claw.

It fared no better than the first, Merik gleefully dodged it, and planted his hammer deep into the flesh of the monster.

Across the hallway, Layn leaned against a brick wall, looking on in amusement as this went on.

The two went back and forth. The gigantic monster slashing at Merik with it's powerful claws, yet always just barely missing. It was beginning to slow down under the relentless blows of the war hammer, until it stopped moving.

“I see that your fighting style is as... dishonourable as ever.” Layn said, as she walked towards the monster.

Merik chuckled as he picked the fallen torch. “The Lich should have known better. A flesh beast is little more than a wet and squishy pinata.”

Layn raised her staff, “Shall I do the honours?” she asked.

“By all means.”

The sorceress chanted a strange phrase, and a stream of fire burst forth from her staff, burning away the beast's flesh, sinew, and bone, until nothing but a small pile of remarkably clean and well preserved gold coins remained. The two greedily shoved these coins into their pockets, and hurried on down the hallway.

They'd been travelling through the catacombs of the Temple of Death for what seemed like hours. “Looks like a dead end to me,” Merik said resignation showing in his voice.

“Don't be so hasty,” Layn ran her hand along the stone wall that blocked their path. “These stones look different from the rest, and look, on the floor. Scuff marks, I believe that this is actually a secret passageway of some sort.”

“What?”

A smile formed on Layn's lips. “I can feel a strong magical presence beyond here, it must lead to the Lich's inner chambers.”

“Uh huh. So how do we open it?”

“There must a lever to pull, or perhaps a switch we need to press,” she explained. “Our foe is cunning, he could have hid the mechanism anywhere, and disguised it as anything.”

Merik groaned. “Does that mean what I think it means?”

“Do you think it means that we're going to need to backtrack through these catacombs, literally leaving no stone unturned, until we get this open?”

“That sounds about right.”

Layn rolled her eyes. “Then yes, Merik, I'm afraid it means exactly what you think it means.”

“Cool, I've got a better idea though.”

“And that would be?”

“How thick do your magical senses tell you this fake wall is?”

Layn closed her eyes and focused. “It isn't very thick, the stones are heavy, and the system of pulleys aren't that strong, maybe a few inches. Why do you want to- Oh come on!”

Merik had once again brought out his war hammer, and was smashing the fake wall with all his strength.

The room shook, and loose dust fell from the ceiling.

“You can't!” she exclaimed. “You're destroying our element of surprise!”

“Can and will.” He once again slammed his hammer into the wall. “Look, it's already beginning to give way.”

He was right. Thin cracks of light shone from behind the wall.

“But...” she stammered. “This wasn't the way the Temple architects wanted us to do it!”

“And I'm suddenly supposed to be worried about upsetting a group of death cultists?”

The wall was beginning to collapse, a few more well placed hits, and it would be rubble.

“Just think about what you're doing!”

“Well gee, Layn, we brought what, a day's worth of rations for this journey? We didn't think it would take this long, so if we wait much longer, we'll need to stroll all the way back into town to resupply, and the Lich will have that much longer to prepare his evil plan. Whatever his evil plan actually is.”

“Yes, I suppose you're right,” she mumbled.

A few moments later, the wall crumbled into dust, and the two stepped forward in the chamber. The Lich was there, waiting for them, a skeleton hovering above the room wearing nothing but mouldy black robes.

“So, you have arrived, champions” it wheezed. “But it is too late. What I have set in motion cannot be stopped. In a few short days, all of creation will burn and at last I will have my-”

“What did you set in motion?” Merik asked.

“What did I... what?” it was confused.

“Your plans, what are they?” he asked again.

“I... you are...” it said, at a loss for words. “You are the champions that the prophecy spoke of, how is it that you are ignorant of your fate?”

“We are but mere mortals compared to your brilliance,” Layn spoke quickly. “We merely wish to hear it from your mouth, so that we might briefly grasp the genius behind your mighty plan, before you defeat us.”

“Very well.” Playing to the Lich's vanity was obviously the right thing to do. “I shall bring about the end times, by releasing the dreaded-”

Tittle: Lost to the World
Author: Who else other then I?
Author's Note: I wrote this at least 6 months ago
Story:

Is this how it ends? Seems like this is the only way it could. The light dancing on the water like a full scale ballet was taking place, but only they and I knew it. This ballet calls to me, asking me to join it. Calling me by name as if we've known each other our whole lives. Asking me over and over to join it's dance. It's offer is so tempting, but I know that will be my last dance. I don't want to think about the end just yet, so I'll think about something else.

Like this place where I sit. This old bridge. Oh so lovely and loving in the way it cradles the rushing river below. Strong and unyielding, never letting go or slipping away. Never leaving the river lonely. Strong in everything it does. The bridge is always here for the river, but river never cares for her. She is always helpful and caring towards him, but he never notices. He expects everything from her without ever returning the favor. He takes and takes without really notices. Striping away everything that makes her strong, but she doesn't mind at first. He was only asking for a little after all. Nothing to worry about. Now though she sees what he has done to her, sees how weak he has made her, and now she's practically about to fall apart. This bridge is about to fall apart. About to fall, head first, into the ice cold river that's just waiting to rip her apart. He wants her to fall apart. Even though he looks clean and happy, under the surface he's never really known a day of happiness for himself. He's taken everything from anyone who has ever tried to help him. Just so he can feel better about himself for just a moments time, and now he's taking everything from her. She use to be strong, but now just one good storm could destroy her forever. That storm was right around the bend, but the river knows that now, and she knows she can't expect the river to be there for her. This river never really cared for her anyways.

The leaves near me rustle and I'm brought back to today. I wonder how long I've been sitting on this bridge staring at this river. This place is so sad. A forgotten bridge in the middle of a forest no one travels through anymore. This is just another place forgotten in time withholding it's helpful bridge ans unforgiving river. Just forgotten and found again in time on a lonely day when the world thought to show me an escape. Though I'm not to sure it's to happy about that anymore, but I guess, over all, the world doesn't really care. In the end that is. It might care for a little while, but just give it time, it will forget me too. Just like it did this lonely place once upon a time.
