The more prevalent I notice its use.
For instance, ever since I started to love Epic Score, X-Ray Dog and E.S Posthumus, I notice they are used EVERYWHERE.
For instance, I noticed that in Saints Row 2, some of Epic Score's Distorted Album was used for the CD Shop music, yet it isn't credited in the song list. This same album is used in one of the Spartacus trailers.
So, for discussion:
Any uses of theatrical music that particularly stuck out in your mind? Any other good theatrical music artists out there?

I think the music by Clint Mansell always stands out in very good ways. I thought his music for Pi was amazing.
Of course everyone knows his music from Requiem for a Dream. It's used in so many movie trailers now.

Requiem for a Dream is like the go-to example for theatrical music. It's just so epic... It's a shame it's become so overused that using it can be seen as lazy...
Another movie with amazing theatrical music would have to go to: Inception The Dark Knight
both had stunning music, and stunning trailers.

A scene that really stands out to me is the scene in The Two Towers when the ents decide to go and battle. That's some epic music there.

I downloaded it. I saw that they didn't allow regular people to buy any of their music so I just DL'd it. I'm going to get the music one way or another, whether they allow me to give them money or not.

Bad previous experiences with it...and as far as I know, there's no other sources for it D:

Except for artists who wont allow me to...like X-Ray Dog, and Immediate Music.

I prefer to download them, specially because sometimes the OSTs are pretty hard to find and even if you find them the actual movie is cheaper. I don´t remember when I started to listen to soundtracks (but I would bet it was Requiem for a dream the first) but now t´s become a major part in my music tastes. One OST that was really hard to find but I just love is "All about lily chou-chou".
