Perched On Your Shoulder

California is, perhaps, one of the best places to be during summer vacation for the teenagers. Many adults own summer homes there by the beach so that they can go swimming or surfing. The shopping is excellent and the food is great. There’s not a single bad thing about California.

Except the recent rise in crime.

For the past week, seven individuals have been doing nothing but wreaking havoc. There has been rape, theft, fights, and tons more. No one realizes, however, that these seven people are making such poor choices because of the demons that can only be seen by them. You see, each person has one demon attached to them, but they aren’t any normal demon. They are the Princes of the Seven Deadly Sins: Asmoedus, Belphegor, Satan, Lucifer, Mammon, Beelzebub, and Leviathon. A week ago, they arrived in California and attached themselves to seven humans who have a special ability: The ability to see angels and demons. These demons have been influencing these humans to commit crimes or dishonest behavior that relate to their sin. It’s an attempt to get sin so high that eventually Earth will become like Hell.

But Heaven wants none of that. The Seven Heavenly Virtues are in town, and they’ve attached themselves to the human with the demon opposite of their virtue. Lucifer must deal with Humility. Mammon must deal with Charity. Asmodeus must deal with Chastity. Leviathon must deal with Kindness. Beelzebub must deal with Temperance. Satan must deal with Patience. Belphegor must deal with Diligence. And, of course, the humans are caught between the two opposing sins and virtues.

The virtues are constantly trying to steer their humans toward good choices, while the sins are trying to steer them in the direction of evil. Ultimately, the choice is up to the humans. They will struggle with inner demons – no pun intended – and will have to fight to determine what they really believe in. However, the problem doesn’t end there. The balance of the world will depend on these seven humans and how they react to their shoulder angel and shoulder devil.

I Know Fear
Silent Hill rp

Warden’s Log – Day 204
Not even a year since I’ve been here, and I’ll be damned if we didn’t get a nasty bit of work today. A murderer. I mean, we always get murderers, so this shouldn’t be any big deal, right? Well, it is. Son of a b***h came in here with a smile on their ******** face like it was a goddamn game. Prisoner went straight into cell 305. It’s rumored to be haunted. Hope that prisoner gets killed by the ghost – murderers make me sick. Especially the ones who I know ain’t gonna learn their lesson from the electric chair.

Warden’s Log – day 212
Another prisoner today, this one a master thief. A new kind of prisoner, I guess. This one doesn’t only specialize in stealing cars and expensive stuff – they’ve been doing this s**t for years, I think, and haven’t even gotten caught. Credit cards and s**t like that, you know? Over two million dollars of debt is due to this ********, and I don’t think they even care. Into cell 216. Not that bad of a cell, but the light gets bright in the morning, so I hope it causes a rude awakening for the ******** Log – Day 213
What the ******** is it with these creepy ******** coming into our damn prison? This one’s a rapist. I don’t know who they’ve been raping and I don’t care to know. All I know is the a*****e’s going into cell 300, and I hope the jackass rots.

Warden’s Log – Day 215
There’s a huge influx of prisoners recently, all of them tipped off by some jerkoff that leaves anonymous tips – calls himself Mister Penny. Anyway, this new one is a drug dealer. Been selling really bad s**t for the past few years. One of the biggest drug dealers in the States, I think, but who am I to know? I don’t buy from the a*****e. Into cell 105 they go.

Warden’s Log – Day 216
Good Lord, I don’t know who these ******** are or why they do so many damned crimes, but I sure as hell hope this doesn’t keep up. At least we’re getting them off the streets, though. This one is an arsonist – a ******** that almost set fire to the White House a few days back. They’ve done things just as bad, though, I’m sure. I have no problem keeping them in here until they get their s**t sorted out, though. Cell 317 for this one.

Warden’s Log – Day 309
Just when I thought things couldn’t get any weirder around here, they do. ******** Mister Penny called up and told us that he wanted to have a deal with us, so we agreed. I went with the prison owner and a couple other wardens to find Mister Penny, without a lawyer, waiting for us in a recreational room. It was the middle of the night, and we were the only ones awake. He looked the owner square in the eye and said, “I want to play a game.” We all got a good laugh out of that, but Mister Penny was serious. He went on, talking about nonsense bullshit that I don’t even think anyone would really take seriously. “You’ve heard about Silent Hill, right? The ghost town that just can’t seem to stay inhabited?” The owner listened after that. I still thought this s**t was hilarious, but it kind of weirded me out. “Those prisoners I sent you, I want them to go to Silent Hill and stay there for two weeks.”

“Mister Penny,” said our prison owner, “you understand that the point of prison is to try to get our citizens back on the streets and act like normal human beings, right? You understand that punishment isn’t our goal, don’t you?”

“Of course I do.”

“Then why would you suggest sending them to a place like Silent Hill?”

“Because I know these five prisoners, and I know very well what kind of bad people they are. Silent Hill is the only way to show them what true evil is like. It’s the only way to show them that, if they don’t change their ways, they’re going to become just like that place.” He snapped his fingers, and the owner flinched. “I’ve heard rumors about how horrible it was. Changing in a split second. Frightening. Horrifying. Terrible. I guarantee you, the prisoners wouldn’t want to go there.”

“So why would they? They still have their rights.”

“Of course they do. But I’m offering them a reason to go.”

“And what’s that?”

“Two million dollars. And their freedom.”

“Mister Penny—.”

“Only if they survive the two weeks, of course.”

Mister Penny stared at the owner for quite some time, and within five minutes, an under-the-table deal was done. I don’t know how this s**t came to this, but I don’t want anything to do with it. They were really going to Silent Hill, and as far as I was concerned, they were cursed. The last time I’m burying my hands in these prisoners’ business is following the owner’s orders: “Get these prisoners to the bus that will take them to Silent Hill. Mister Penny is already on that bus. He’s going to Silent Hill with them. Come back here once you get them on the bus.” He offered me a raise, and I didn’t argue. I got the prisoners on the bus, along with Mister Penny and some journalist I knew nothing about. Oh, well. Wasn’t my problem if this got publicized. I want to wash my hands clean of this business. Maybe I’ll quit tomorrow.

Warden’s Log – Day 310
We just received word from the ward that was driving the prisoners, Mister Penny, and the journalist along to Silent Hill. Said that they were all stuck there, and none of them could find a way out. All eight of them. s**t. I'm quitting. Right now. I don't need this s**t on my conscience.

Responsibility Sucks
A band rp.

This role play is based heavily off the movie Get Him to the Greek. If you dislike the mention of drugs, sex, and rock-n-roll, I’d suggest you not read any further.

Back in the ‘90s, there was a really good rock band. They had been at the prime of their career and were pretty high up on the charts. Presymphonic was, perhaps, one of the best bands of their decade, and many estimated that they would continue to be hits for many more decades to come. Unfortunately, the band members spiraled into the typical rock-and-roll lifestyle. Drugs, alcohol, sex, and self-destructive behavior became prevalent in their everyday lives. They went downhill, and with them went their chances at becoming the most influential rockstars of the twenty-first century.

It’s been nearly ten years since their last concert, and during that concert, they promised that they would never be returning to the stage. They said that they had done their fans wrong by becoming bad role models, and they just couldn’t keep it up anymore. The lifestyle was too dangerous. Too depressing. It simply had too much pressure. They played their greatest hits, ended with a new song that expressed their sadness of leaving, and – as promised – never returned to the stage again.

However, a music company decided to try something new for a change. One member proposed that, instead of offering labels to new, aspiring artists, they take a leap and try to get Presymphnic back up on the stage. Since they had once been so influential, the ten year anniversary would gain millions in revenue. The manager of this company thought that it was a great idea, and assigned five of his employees to tend to the band, watch after them – that would be one employee for every band member – and make sure that they got back to Los Angeles in time for the concert, which is only two months away. Eagerly, the five members packed their bags and made arrangements.

Luckily, all of the band members could be spotted in the same state: New York. Getting them back together, however, would be hard. They’d ended with a bang, and most likely on bad notes. (No pun intended.) Some of them were likely still substance abusers, and some had given up the rocker life forever in hopes of living a normal life. Still, they were willing to meet with this company’s representatives and try to arrange something, feeling bad for having left their fans in the way that they did.

Quote:

Plot Idea One

This role play follows a group of three adults and two teenagers (can be changed; this is just a basic concept) who’ve all had some sort of death in their lives that have influenced them. Coincidentally, these deaths have all been suicides. These five people, however, know that these suicides were not by personal choice of their loved one. It was because they had been influenced by an outside force that weaved its way in – a demon, a ghost, something. Each suicide was different, and each affected every person a different way. However, one thing remains the same in the group: They all vowed to hunt down the very thing that killed their loved ones. They tracked it down to a forest in Maryland and all meet up at the same time. This is the first time they’ve met, and the first time they ever realized that there are other people like them out there. When they enter the forest together, they realize that what they’ve run into was much larger than they anticipated, and one by one, strange, terrifying things start to happen. This role play would require each participating role player to come up with plot twists and descriptive, horrifying encounters.

Quote:

Plot Idea Two

This role play follows a group of adults who have just been called back to their hometown in Waco, Texas. Until this time, they haven’t even thought of their childhood – almost as if they’ve had an amnesia so strong, they didn’t even realize they had it. Horrifying memories begin to flood them, and they realize that they forgot their childhoods for a reason – it was because it was there, in Waco, that they encountered their greatest fears. It was there, in Waco, where they swore they would come back if the supernatural murders and horrifying occurrences happened again. It was there, in Waco, where they never wanted to return. But they made a promise, and they had to keep it. So there, in Waco, they are, once again facing their worst fears.

Quote:

Plot Idea Three

Godfather has listened to the most saddest of prayers. When people felt alone, It would answer. They would fall asleep in their familiar world, and they would wake up in a new one. One where goblins and elves and dragons are real. The town is old, and the people are few. But there is already a problem: The first person that Godfather brought into the New Reality is an evil wizard who wants to take over. The new arrivals have only one choice: To take up arms and fight this evil wizard, who currently resides in the castle of New Reality. (Note that New Reality is a very small place and consists only of a castle, a town, a forest, a field, and a lake. This is because Godfather is not going to allow just any old sad soul to arrive in New Reality. Just the most desperate. Hurrhurr, he’s mean. :B)

Mirror rorriM

In Ancient times, wars littered the land of Juuninsai. No one was safe at anytime. There was death and carnage no matter where you tried to hide. But the gods grew tired of the bloody conflict. And so, they forced their magic into the world. Unfortunately, the god's magic contradicted with the magic of the land, and so a malformity was born. A curse by the name of fukyuu zange (eternal repentance). It caused those inflicted to gain a 'talent'. It was sometimes able to produce good, and sometimes evil. But it was never able to be predicted in form of potency, and never followed any pattern. One's parents could have a talent for creating plants and changing shapes but that one's talent would have nothing to do with that of their parents'.

Now in Juuninsai, some two centuries after the 'curse' was bestowed, trouble brews. The leader of the Syastim; an evil organisation of Barndens', seeks to take control of the Mysais' of castle Wairgen. The citizens' of Wairgen fear for their lives daily as attacks from the Syastim become ever more frequent, and their goals become more apparent.

Now, the only hope for the fate of Juuninsai lies in the hands of those from the Mirror world. The problem being that the Mirror Gates are cracked and travel between the worlds is scarce. Will the Mysais' rise to save their home from the evil intentions of the Barndens on their own? Or will Castle Wairgen fall? Or maybe, Lady Fate will be merciless and intervene to send a saviour from the Mirror world? Only time will tell, and the only answers to stop the Syastim. relieve the curse and the mend cracked Mirror Gates, is to travel past the crooked horizon.

The Curse

A curse bestowed on the humans by the gods for their unending quarrels. The curse, which has come to be called fukyuu zange (eternal repentance). It is a bit of a wild card. The curse grants the beings of Juuninsai a 'talent'. Whether or not it is powerful, or even useful however, is a different story. It never develops patterns or predictability, the curse id different for everyone. Very few are granted with high level magic from the curse, and a lot of the 'talents' are domestic. There are those however, that can use their 'talent' for good or evil.

Races

Mysais:
A fairy-like being with translucent wings, usually brightly coloured hair, and fragile looking bodies. They are fairly soft-spoken creatures, and don't like confrontation. They would rather run than battle to protect something precious to them. They are mainly only concerned with their own safety.
Life span: About 600 years. They reach maturity at 150.

Barnden:
A goblin like being with a short heavy build, thick muscles, and usually dark coloured hair. They are nasty little things with little to no morals (Not that they would hold to them anyway), and very little emotional range. They live only to hurt and cause trouble. They are constantly searching for power, and will only listen to those of higher power.
Life span: About 1000 years. They reach maturity at 150.

Mirror child:
Those from and descendant from those of the Mirror world. These beings are very rare, and mysterious. Not much is know about them other than they are highly unpredictable. A literal 'wild card.'
Life span: about 100 years. Reaches maturity at about 18.

Syastim:
These power-hungry entities behind the Syastim will stop at nothing to gain rule of all Juuninsai. They have a large band of Barndens and even a few Mysais exhaled from Wairgen. They are vicious in their tactics and their leader has plans to change Juuninsai drastically.

The Setting

The place is the lonely continent of Juuninsai, a grassy region littered with lush forests, lakes and plains and mountains. There are few cities on the whole continent and fewer villages. Though the cities are all quite large and the villages small in comparison to our own.

The time is late during the year of 209. Despite time only having been recorded for some 2 centuries, the world of Juuninsai is fairly modernised. A form of writing has already been developed as well as such transportation as horse and ox drawn carriages. The main industries include farming, mining, metalwork (blacksmith), carpentry and marketing. A basic medieval society, though with no nobles, monarchy, or people of higher standing. The wars were to decide these things, but they were never allowed to finish, thus these classes were never developed.

Quote:

Redemption

In 2140, the last years of the decade-long Third World War were drawing to a close. In a final effort to keep the American-Lead Axis Alliance from world domination, the leaders of the Warsaw Pact gave the order to use the last weapon in their arsenal, a system of satellites codenamed 'Damocles.' With a single word, civilization as we know it on Earth was destroyed.

Damocles wreaked havoc on the major cities of the United States, leaving most of them as smoking wreckage in an event known as the Cataclysm. The weapon had an unforeseen effect, however; The resultant dust and debris in the atmosphere spread over the earth, blanketing it, shrouding it from the sun. When the skies finally cleared two months later, the world was almost entirely covered in desert. That was sixty-eight years ago.

Now, in the rubble of a society destroyed by the sins of the father, the survivors of the human race struggle to pick up the pieces.

Character Classes

The available classes are as wide and varied as they are in the current world; Those following are simply the larger, more standard groups that can be found in most cities in this world. A person can, in the real world, be a part of any number of organizations. You can multiclass in the Redemption world as well, except when noted.

Harpers - A guild of musicians and poets, passing on the lore and legends of the old Earth.

Traders - Simple enough. They have several unions, each dealing with it's own city, but they are the same organization.

Dustrunners - Those who wander as a religion; They span the globe, seeking home, hearth, and safety lost in a single blaze of light, one crisp October morn.

The Zealotine Church - Catholics on crack - no offense to any here. They preach ultra-repressive morals, believing that the Cataclysm was God punishing an impure world. Rarely multiclass.

Cavali - Guns for hire; Mercs and outlaws just presentable enough to be trusted by city folk. They serve as escorts, leading armed caravans from city to city. If your character is going to be exotic in most any way (weaponry, language, etc) I'd go with either this or trader.

Garrison - Monks of the Garisson prize knowledge above all else, spending their lives moving from one city or another, searching for abandoned libraries and lost tomes.

The Order of the Wurm - Militaristic Darwinians, believing that only those with the strength to survive have the right to. Multiclassing available only on special request - pm me with the idea you have.

Cainian - a raider race who practices ritual body mutilation to bring themselves closer to the divine. Cannot multiclass with any orderly group.

Hooder - a group of rogues and outlaws with a strict moral code regarding their thievery.

Locations

A few cities have managed to scrap out an existence for themselves, with the citizens trying to regain what normalcy they may. The largest on our continent are as follows:

- Big Bend

= Located in the wreckage of Memphis, this city is dominated by a large, deep crater - the impact damage of the cataclysm. Fed by water from the Mizzippi river, this has filled to become Lake Memphis, and serves as the source of life for the fishing and trading communities that have sprung up on the South and West edges of the lake, built into the cliffs. Walled by the massive, thirty-foot tall upthrust of earth about the lake's edges, this city is only easily accessible by river. The city's leaders are in the process of constructing a government, as well as a system of metal piers upon which a more viable city may be built. A strong arm is worth it's weight in gold, as the citizens must always dig deeper into the cliff for fused irons and steels.

- High Palms

= When Damocles struck both Tampa and Orlando, the lower half of the Florida Peninsula was sliced from the mainland, becoming a large, prosperous island. The marshy climate supports a city-state of simple farmers, most of whom make their daily bread in the rice patties of the Highglades. They are governed by a direct democracy in the city of High Palms, formerly a section of Royal Palm Beach. The head of each household, male or female, has a seat in the local government here, and has an equal voice in all city matters.

- Havensberth

= A quick jump across the harbor and a day's hike north of ruined Seattle, this city is a heaven; Protected from much of the devastation by the surrounding mountains, this tree-filled paradise lives off of the fruit of both land and sea; populated almost entirely by hunters, the location of this city allows for expeditions out into the ocean on the west, as well as salvage trips to Seattle in the south. There is no government; the people here exist in a happy anarchy, guided by a much less strict version of Zealotine morals. Honest, hard-working people, they will defend their hearth and homes with every breath in their bodies.

- Tanglewood and Renegade's Rest

= When Amarillo was destroyed by the Cataclysm, it opened a rift in the depths of Lake Tanglewood, splitting a great chasm of a canyon that stretches down into the watery abyss of an underground sea. When the encroaching darkness of the following months killed off all of the crops above, the citizens found that the fertile, formerly lake-bottom soil was still protected along the walls of the canyon. They followed it down, carving their homes into the sandstone cliffs, forming a co-op of subsistence farmers, living by the Right, Proper Way of the Zealotine Church.
Whenever a person refused to live by the rigorous path of the Church, they were quickly issued a death sentence - banished to beyond the canyon's protective walls, forced to wander the desert above. For twenty years, all was good - then, the first attacks came. Raiders, armed with all forms of weaponry, fell upon the city, attacking those of the higher classes who lived on the rim. A single raider was captured; when interrogated, he revealed that the pariahs of the city had survived in the mountains west, thriving in the craggy peaks. Dubbed 'Renegade's Rest,' it is a city of rogues ruled by two warring factions - the honorable thieves of the Hooder Clan, and the cutthroats of Cage's Hollow.

- San Prado

= Governed by a fortress crafted atop Angel Island, this Victorian-esque city may well be the most refined in El Oeste Nuevo (The region stretching from Havensberth in the north to the tip of the Baja peninsula in the south, and bordered by the interior mountains of Nevada, Utah, and Idaho). Holding the most strategic position on the western coast, it sits squarely on every major trade route, both land and sea, in the region. The pinnacle of fashion, finely tailored cloths and wrought wire jewelry are the norm. Women are not given a voice in this state, instead viewed as an extension of the Man's fineries. The women, however, are far more in charge than the appearances first suggest; like any 'civilized' area, they are the ones pulling the strings through their husbands and lovers.

- York

= Despite the fact that four separate blasts struck the New York area, despite the fact that the city had been continuously bombed in the early stages of WW3, and despite the lack of arable land in the area - life in this city survived. A stretch of land between 8th and 2nd Ave, running from the southern border of Central Park to the end of the island, as well as a small portion of Brooklyn, stand sentinel in the waters, surrounded by the sunken skeletons of buildings about them. This city is run entirely by the Order of the Wurm, in conjunction with the Garrison Headquarters at the Library of Congress. They subsist on small, personal rooftop gardens, as well as fish of the ocean and supplies from both of their respective organizations. The city, despite being the center of the two most militaristic organizations in the New World, is surprisingly free.

Quote:

Amidst the Clouds

In the world of Vaste, there is no 'land'. There are only 'isles'. Each one of these Isles float among a sea of thick clouds and sky. There is no horizon, only where the clouds part. A Unity of Isles is a group of isles close enough together to have bridges built between them. Each one has a name, a community, a life of its own.

Ships of all sizes, large hulking ships and smaller lighter vessels, their sails billowing in the high winds of the skies, traveling between Isles and Unities. These ships carry goods, supplies, and cargo. There are no countries, only a stretch of an archiapelago, and each Unity or individual isle has its own commerce, its own way to survive. Isles can be from hours apart to days to months. Almost all government is similar to each other, though there are occasionally radical variations.

The ones who control the government are the Winged.

They are a race of people with platinum hair who are revered. They are the only ones who can soar the skies without the need of airships. Their wingspans are twice their size and can vary in color as easily as they.

It is also said that they have subtle magic and that they gather this magic from the isles themselves.

Because of these features, they are also the religious leaders. There is a goddess, a statuesque figure in marble with a glorious mane of platinum hair and wings that could encompass an entire city. She is Anizath and she is worshipped by all who soar the skies and by those who depend on the ones who soar.

This is a world bubbling with life and with endless adventure and change. There are pirates and smugglers, commodores and heroes, politicians and religious leaders.

There is only one thing that forevermore will be a mystery.

What lies beneath the clouds?

No one who has traveled beneath the clouds has ever returned to say what they have seen. To fall out of the high skies and into the swirling clouds is the cruelest of deaths.

It is the Wingeds' most feared punishment for a crime.

It is a cruel pirate's favourite way to murder.

It is a commodore's treatment toward a traitor.

Because all people share the one greatest fear - to fall.

Quote:

The Meek

'And the meek shall inherit the Earth.'

Gather around, children. Watch as those in charge manipulate your lives, attempt to control you. But you won't let them, will you now? You see beyond their fake smiles, their eyes, ever studying the inside of your soul. Occasionally they will come after you. The monsters, the pale-white cloaked assassins and soldiers. They are there to help demolish your lives. They created this world you live in, for no better reason than to control your actions. They've taken care of everything. The words you read, the songs you sing. You never need to think, or wonder why. But you do. You slowly explore the edges of this weakened, almost obliterated world. It's a system meant simply to control your lives. To study you, to examine how you react in various situations. To get in there and muck up the works. But, those of you here today, you know that they are afraid. Afraid of the population, afraid of us. The soldiers and creatures alike walk the streets, guns in hand. But they do not need guns. Their claws, their sheer abilities of physical combat and their boneless bodies are enough to kill most. You are among those who can survive. You are no longer civilians. You were trained for a purpose. For taking down this control. We want freedom. They won't give it. -Taken from the rebel leader's diary, page 42.

They cannot live without our guidance. They are weak, misguided. Those few who wish to stand up against us only do so for a world they haven't seen. If they make it outside the walls put around the dimension, they will get into our dimension. And take their revenge. You, as the Engineers, must take up a station in the Town, and defend it using your own personal creations. Make your White Ones attack the rebels, those poor fools. If only they knew our plans... Syrinx must rise. -Taken from the first Mission Brief of Operation Syrinx Town

The People of Syrinx Town

The Civilians

These people are the ones who don't suspect anything. Who don't know they are in another realm, another dimension created by the Priests of Syrinx. These are the true Meek. They have the power to control the energy around them to make them move faster, stronger, more powerful. And they don't even know it. The Rebels can't contact them, because they are always upducted as soon as they are contacted. Strange things happen to them, and they are oblivious to the many errors of this virtual world they were imprisoned in. Empty beings fly by night across the rooftops. Shadows disappear momentarily, reflections look back at you and smile, mocking you. Extraterrestrial beings walk around in the town squares, small tanks treading around, and they believe whatever they were told; that the town was being used as a military rest stop; that they were planning on destroying another city far ahead but hadn't gotten their orders yet. These lies were said constnatly and kept the civilians at bay. Now, they are starting to see stranger and stranger errors occuring. They begin to want out of this dimension. Then the Rebels discreetly take them.

The White Ones

You are the assassins. You take out those who are beginning to feel different in this world. Not one for carnage, you prefer the quiet kill in the town, usually while the person is sleeping. Generally, you use needles and knives as your weapons, and nothing else. Using something else would throw you off balance; you believe that the Black Ones are clumsy when it came to their killing, but they were much more powerful to make up for it. The White Ones have their own headquarters behind the Clock Tower, in an old warehouse.

The Black Ones

You are the ones that the Rebels fear. Your skills with a sword of any kind is almost unmatched. You draw your energy from the world around you, like a black hole. Since it is artificially constructed, the energy is almost double in the Town than outside. Your outfit is made out of black entirely, and your face is the only part of your body left uncovered. You are sent to fight the Rebels, and don't bother with the civilians. You also use errors to your advantage, creating slips in the area in which energy surges forward towards your enemies. You are the shock troops. You are what keeps the populace under control. If they defy you, they won't be around much longer. Fear is your rule. The Black Ones placed their base in an underground railway.

The Rebels

You are the people who want out. The people who wish that the people of Syrinx would just go away. And you want to leave the realm that they created. Your training has taught you the fighting styles of the Black Ones, how to absorb energy from the constructed reality around you. Each of you have your own specialty, but your group still fears the Black Ones. Why? Because they have no remorse, they don't care if they take away your life. They like it, they like to see the gore, what happns when your are cut in the neck. But you don't. You just want to get out. You know exactly what to do, though. Find the Engineers and kill them. Finding them and taking them out is the hard part; they can summon Black and White Ones at will as well as constructed monsters, empty shells that you just have to cut through. But they can easily be revived. So, combat becomes difficult. The odds are against you. But you're desperate. You want freedom from the control.

The Engineers

The Engineers. You lucky dogs. You have no powers in this world at all, no training. Yet you are the most powerful. Why? Because you command the ones in power, your assassins, your fighters. The Black and White bow to you and serve your purposes. You are the ones souly responsible for programming places for the people to go; beaches, trains, even the food they eat. But you are also paranoid. You know that forever and always, the Rebels will be after you. Ready to pounce. Ready to kill. But you are protected. You're the ones in control. You have the Black and Whites working for you. You are gods here. You make your base underneath structures that people commonly go to.

Bang Bang

Endoresu. A city in japan with millions of inhabitants, the new Tokyo. Of course, it hasn't been called Tokyo for centuries, the name changed along with the day and age. Here, in the heart of japan, are where all of the action seems to happen, the large buildings, the sidewalks filled with people, festivals, imported and exported shipments come and go as they please. If it fell into the right hands, the city would be able to truly prosper, more so than it has been as of late. Though, in the wrong hands, the city could easily crumble and then the rest of japan would follow closely behind it. Some people, have definitely noticed, including the newly interested media.

Since the name change, people, namely gangs took more interest in the thriving city, noticing just how important it really was. But as soon as one gang see's another trying to gain territory, it turns into an all out war. With gang members mainly ranging from high-school and college students, this hasn't had the best effect on the social atmosphere in the schooling department. Fights constantly break out between one student belonging to one gang and another student belonging to an opposing gang. It's gone on for years, and now it seems it's more tense then ever.

Kokuryuu, translated as Black Dragons, were the original gang to see the true beauty hidden within the city of Endoresu. Their true intentions are unknown, it seems that they are the gang least affected by the other two quarreling gangs and often stay lurking in the shadows as if they are waiting for the other two gangs to wipe themselves out. They are very close knit, and it's rare for them to take on new recruits. They do things quickly and efficiently, always doing their best to hide from the media's hungry eyes.

Dokueki, translated as Venom is a strictly female gang. They were the second to realize the potential of the city. Their intentions, also are unknown but both the media and other gangs are leaning towards them being a bad influence upon the city. They have done serious evil, but in the long run these things usually turn out for the better of the city, but most everyone outside of the gang is left confused. By far, this gang is more cruel and blood-thirsty when it comes to dealings with other gangs, they'd rather attack first and ask questions later. They only accept recruits that they've watched and studied for a while, and have seen to have great potential. Dokueki does not mind being seen by the media every once in a while, and it's not their main concern.

Kage Shi, translated as Shadow Death is the youngest of the gangs, and the last to come on the scene regarding the treasure of the Endoresu. When it comes to their intentions, no one has a clue in the slightest, in fact very little is known about them. Their movements are usually well thought out, and their plans extend over long periods of time. Of all of the gangs, they are the most sly, and usually their dealings happen "in the dark" so to speak. When it comes to violence with other gangs, they never back down from a challenge and often times have elaborate plans of coaxing the other gangs into fighting by pushing their buttons. They always have plans to be in the media when needed, and have connections that let them stay in the dark when needed.

With cross-fire between the gangs happening left and right, and attempts at peace have again and again led to more discontent and disaster, how will this end? Who will win? Who will live, who will die? Who will betray their friends? That's your story.

Vesper

Today is 2 October of the year 45. Or so they tell you. When you can't - physically can't - ask questions, you never know. You just have to accept it.

But I have to back up to get to that point.

In 2011, North Korea, Iran, and China 'ganged up' on the United States and launched the msot devastating nuclear attack the world had ever seen. And not only did this destroy major cities, it left the United States in a state of panic and chaos. Think the French Revolution.

Minus the revolution. Meaning, everyone was starving except for President Cormack Briggs and homicide, arson, and rape were viligant.

Slowly, however, a party formed, dubbing themselves the Whitefyre party. They promised safety. They promised secruity. What they promised was what everyone needed. And slowly, the Whitefyre party began to take power.

The U.S. succumbed to them.
Then South America and Mexico.
Then Asia.
Then most of Europe except for the UK and Switzerland. *
Then everyother place aside from the UK and Switzerland, which were in bad shape anyways.

And now, to put it bluntly, in about seven years, the Whitefyre party ruled the world. And they were going to make it so they ruled.

They began by murdering the UN members and torching the building. Then they went to banning music, TV, the radio, the Internet, novels, and historical information. It left belagured denziens confused and upset, but they didn't dare tell anyone. Because then they'd be dead.

They began to monitor careers. All was 'well' until roughly 2039. That was where a scientist named David Frasher came up with a chemical that could alter the brain functions so that it was physically impossible to think something.

Frasher developed it as a way to help those with OCD. But, like Whitefyre always did, it became twisted into something far beyond his control.

They developed this drug for several years, and in 2042 (or what they called year 22) it was ready. Injections could make it so that the following could not be thought**:

- Freedom and rebellious thoughts
- Propaganda
- What the hell happened before year I?
- That a world existed in music or literature
- That there was a better solution to what was going on

And all was well. For now. In year 2050, or year 30, a new technician named Megan Kellner, in the dead of night at Vesper*** Hospital, forgot to give thirteen newborn babies the necessary injections.

With time, the familes moved, and this was forgotten. But as those seven girls and six boys neared adolescence, they began to realise something was not right. And in the dead of night one time, they met in a park. And they realised they were not alone.

But there were only thirteen of them against seven million. How could they ever stand a chance?

In the dead of night, they wonder. In the dead of night, they plan. In the dead of night, the onslaught begins.

*About the UK and Switzerland: I particularly enjoy those countries. You don't like it, scram.

** That is totally probable, actually. I am not making this up. Please refer to The Extreme Future by James Canton, Ph.D.

***Vesper means night. Get it?

Troubling Times

The lady's face was passive, a gentle glint in her eye as she went down the line, placing a stone in each of the twelve outstretched hands. Her long black hair shrouded half of the woman's beautiful face, and drug along the ground along with the hem of the heavy kimono she wore. Leaves rustled at her feet along with the people all around, a soft wind caressing every person.

As each stone was placed in a child's hand, it began to give a radiating glow, a different color with each child. As the woman finished she looked to the man, giving him a small nod of the head, the hint of a smile catching her face as she looked to the children again, her persona being overcome with pride.

"Before you stands the chosen twelve, these powers have been bestowed upon them and from now on is apart of them. It cannot be taken away by any force, nor given away. They are the only weilders of this gift granted to them along with other ablities. This ability is something that they must discover on their own with the guidance of-" As the man swept his hand toward the woman his words died in his throat, shock covering his face as he stared at the blood pooling at her feet. Her pale hands were stained with blood as she wrapped them around the arrow petruding from her stomach. She stared at it breifly before she coughed up blood, some of it landing on the twelfth child, and then she fell to her knees, and then to her side, wide blue eyes staring at the world dully, almost predicting the chaos that would ensue upon the village of the twelve.

That day ten years past was a day filled with horror, blood shed, and losses. The twelve chosen ones were not ready and hadn't even begun to tap into their powers, and at the death of the oracle, all seemed lost. A group of villagers, myself included, grabbed all of them and brought them to the stables, putting them on horses and sending them off. We saw a few soldiers run after them but all we could do was hope and pray they would make it. We were attacked shortly after but somehow the majority of us survived. No one knows what happened, never having seen any of the chosen again, but we aren't totally in the dark. There's been a few rumors here and there about the people with unnatural powers fighting against the Rin Samurai so there is a chance they escaped that night, but by the way we are recieving these rumors they probably all were seperated in their evasion. The prophecy said that a handful of warriors would be leading the rebellion against the Rin, those twelve are the ones we rely on and who I would without question give my life for in a heartbeat.

- anonymous journal entry, date unknown.

Ten years have passed since the attack. That night the chosen twelve were seperated, but a few have rekindled relationships with their companions. As the prophecy went, each would have a different power, and all would be needed to take down the Rin

The Story of Blood

Setting

In the small town of New Pines, things have been sort of weird according to local Mayor John Evergreen. Usually, they don't have as many animal attacks and young teenagers/graduates dying because of the lack of blood or anemia. Thanks to this epidemic the city has become more of a ghost town. Only a few locals remain along with the hotel and church. Many familes of the victims have moved away in hopes to move on as well as some familes moving out so the same tradegies don't occur to them.

*Note: This RP takes place in modern day times in a small town called New Pines located in the far countryside of England during the winter. New Pines is up in the mountains therefore it's always cold and always snowing.

Date: December 12

Time: 9:37:28 P.M.

Story

In the small town of New Pines, there seems to be some sort of epidemic that is leaving children dead from the loss of blood as well as some sort of bug that is making the stray dogs around the town, bite people for no apparent reason. Teenagers seem to be the most affected out of all the age groups but in any case, people are dying and more and more people are leaving the town.

Unlike many other cities, New Pine is pretty much cut off from civillization. It's located in the mountains were it's hard to find any reception to try and call someone for help or to alert anyone about what's going on. In addition it's at least at two days drive to try and find any other town to alert them of what's going on.

But little do the humans know... that there is actually a war going on and those that have been attacked by dogs, or have wounds up dead- have been chosen to take part in the war.

What is this war? This war, happens to be a war between Lycans (known as werewolves) and Vampires. Not many people know how the war began but their creators Lucas and Lucien are fighting one another, and to make things worse, the Hunters are joining in an effort to keep the remaining humans safe.

No one knows how the battle will turn out or who will be saved, killed, or turned...

Werewolves

Werewolves, also known as a lycans, are humans with the ability to shapeshift into an wolf-like creature, either purposely, by being bitten by another werewolf, or after being placed under a curse. This transformation is often associated with the appearance of the full moon- although in some cases. When in a burst of anger they can change into a werewolf.

Werewolves are often attributed super-human strength and senses, far beyond those of both wolves and men. They have their jaws and offensive paws that a natural wolf is most likely to use during a conflict with its enemy or prey, it has been classically known to kill the others with a dagger or a knife though bite marks are also found on the dead victim.

Lucien, the leader of the Lycans has the ability to control his pack, as pack leader.

The vulnerabilities that a werewolf possess are: silver weapons and highly resistant to other attacks. Unlike vampires, they are not harmed by religious artifacts such as crucifixes and holy water. In many countries, rye and mistletoe were considered effective safeguards against werewolf attacks. Mountain ash is also considered effective, with one Belgian superstition stating that no house was safe unless under the shade of a mountain ash. In some legends, werewolves have an aversion to wolfsbane.

Their current hideout and base in New Pines happens to be the very place that Lucien was cursed, the Cave of Sighs, now called Le Cave des voix.

Vampires

Vampires are humans that drink the blood of others in order to sustain their life and beauty. They have the powers of compulsion- which is to get any human to do what they want, often leaving the victim with no memory as to what may have just occured to them. They are swift creatures and can turn into bats, rats, and or mist. Vampires can walk up walls and walk upside down on ceilings as well- as well as the ability to see memories, thoughts, and any peculiar abilities an individual may have by drinking their blood.

Vampires can be killed by a stake to the heart, holy water, the sun, and also they can die by decapitation. Vampires cannot step stand any religious artificat or instrument either. No one really knows why...

In addition, vampires cannot shed any blood in a church- which makes an excellent place for hiding spot for were and humans alike. They are also weaker because of the presence of the cross, etc.

Vampires must be invited into someone's home in order to step foot in a place that isn't a public area. Any open windows is a form of an invitation as well as open doors.

To create a vampire, one must simply be bitten and drained of blood. Some make it a sensual experience with the transfusion of blood and in some cases, it creates a more intimate bond between the servant and master. Those who are bitten and drained have at least seven days before they full turn into a vampire. If they do not drink any blood in that given time, they may end up going crazy and or die.

Lucas is the creator of the vampires. He has the power to communicate telepathically with all his children.

The vampire's current hideout happens to be an old rundown club called Chronos.

Humans

Humans are the food that fuel both the were and the vampires. Occassionally Werewolves have the urge to eat humans and sometiems they do- but in any case. Their blood is addicting to both vampires and werewolves. They are the people that are being recruited to both sides and at the moment there are a few humans that might have some intresting skills that make the werewolves and vampires want them.

These humans are special. They have something in their blood that when turned, can create a special ability in their new form. Those humans who have this great wish for desire can end up manifesting it in their new form. An example, if someone always wanted to know what someone else was thinking- they may end up having an abilitity like that once they turn. These humans are incredibly rare. Their blood is so much sweeter to vampires and lycans alike.

Those who are considered pure (those who will willingly sacrifice their lives for others or help others) have the rarest scent of all because their blood isn't tainted.

Hunters

Hunters are the creation of Lucius. Many Hunters are his own offspring and survivors of the Were attacks as well as the Vampire attacks. The majority of the Hunters Organization consist of males but occassionaly there is a female that is bait for the werewolves and vampires. Females are not allowed to take part in actually fighting but some members have been known to disobey this rule when things are getting tough. Unfortunately, Lucius died from lung cancer and his powers have passed onto many of his children- oddly enough. Hecate is seen is a symbol for their organization. Her dark moon is the insignia of the organization and is tattooed on the forearms of the members.

Most hunters (those who were related to Lucius in some way) have the abilities of helping spirits be put to rest and for those that were forcibly turned into these monsters- to purify them and to help but them to rest. Unfortunately they cannot actually turn the vampire or werewolf in question back to human, they can help lessen their urges for blood and or human flesh with certain instruments and herbs.

Except, with this day and age the Hunters are seen as corrupt, killing everyone and everything that gets in their way without another thought. Their sworn duty is to put an end to the war and then their second duty (which they don't think is all that important at times) is to protect the humans.

Their main HQ is in New York, but their hideout in New Pines happens to be in the local church.

Reality Check

The world we know, no longer exists. It has been replaced by this illussion of what life once was. How did this happen? Simple. The World Powers simply did not get along. When the fighting finally did cease, a man by the name of Robert L. Knight made a program to help indivuduals escape their harsh realities in an effort to find happiness for a short period of time. In the end, the program became so popular that people wanted these programs to last longer and soon enough, the world began a race to see who could perfect these programs.

The result, was violent. The countries yet again were at war over the new technologies developed and it turned into a nuclear war. The bombs were dropped and people had to retreat underground in order to survive. Years later, people began to come back up onto the surface only to be burnt to cinders. Humans then developed machines in an effort to scavange the surface above and were able to survive off of their findings. These robots then planted crops in order to help perserve human life.

In the end, the countries came to a standstill and decided that the fighting would cease. A good majority of the world then retreated into stations called "bases" so they could experience their perfect realities. But little did they know about the program and it's defects.

The program had been alterted from Knight's orginal plan. Codes began to conflict and the new programmers had changed codes in order to allow the program to alter itself in order to create more realistic jumps and make sure that no one would be harmed in the process. The laws it lived by were: to not harm humans and to do it's best in perserving the human race.

The program did this and more. A good 90 percent of the human population was within it's bases. For some, they couldn't afford to be able to actually escape into the program indefinatley, so some families would sell their kids for money and or sell all their belongings in order to do this.

The program itself began to manipulate people's minds, thoughts, and feelings in their jump. Sometimes "killing" off a person in order to create a new life for them if they were too close to discovering the truth that they had no say in their lives. The program became matchmaker and paired up individuals in order to make sure the human race survived.

And much much more.

It got to a point where no one could tell which was a reality... and which was the dream.

Rebels have begun to rise... but... will it be enough?

Q & A

Q: What is “Reality”?
A: The “Reality” that the people live in, is a ruse. It is… like a dream for us now. This “reality” is everything you could possibly want and more. It was originally created in an effort to maintain peace with other countries and as a stress reliever for others that way they had something to escape to from their lives. Unfortunately, humans came to rely on it too much and thus the world fell into chaos. Humans began to spend their entire lives in this program. So, when the human population that dwindled outside of this “reality” the remaining few created robots and such to take care of the world for when they wanted to immerge once again… it was too late by then. The reality (which is basically a virtual reality) takes place in today’s age but, there is no war with any countries what-so-ever. Everything is peaceful… or so we think.

Q: Ok. So… the virtual reality is like… today, except no one is at war with each other… so… what is the real reality like?
A: I have a few things to say about that… ****-y. The world has gone through global warming, as the true reality takes place a hundred years from today (which is when the virtual reality takes place). The oceans had flooded a good portion of the world and the sun dried up the rest as the ozone layers disintegrated. The oceans are now deserts and all the once hottest parts of the world are now… icy. The ground was the only place that the humans could go to, to escape their fates of turning into ashes and their only chance of survival shortly after the wars. They created machines, robots, and other things necessary to go above ground and retrieve whatever things they needed and to help with manual work below grounds as they created new cities.

Q: Ok. So if what the majority of the human population is experiencing isn’t reality… what is?
A: Good question. So, what the humans are experiencing when they are “awake” is this so-called reality. Then what they experience when they are asleep isn’t reality. So, in conclusion the true reality is their dreams.
There is a theory, that the only thing we truly remember of our dreams is about five minutes. This is true when the humans are asleep in their “realities”. For five minutes, random Coffins deactivate, allowing them to recharge their fuels, etc. So, when the humans are asleep, their dreams are fragmented with vague recollections of their dreams, often dealing with things that they “See” or they “feel” or that they “remember”. Usually flashbacks or hidden desires of what they truly want.

An example of these would be…

Say you have a dream about being intimate with your nemesis/enemy/ and or friend. In the reality, you do not have feelings for this person. When you wake up, you know this… but your “dreams” are telling you that this is your true desire. It’s what you truly want!

Another example dealing with seeing. In some people’s dreams. They dream that they are in a white box and that they are surrounded by gizmos and or people. Most of these dreams are examples of what people think happens when they are abducted by aliens. This is a true dream outside of “reality”. Most times Coffins are cleaned so people are pulled out of them in order to do this. On rare occasions people wake up. When placed back in the program, they are sent to a different sector so the one that they were in can be cleaned. Thus, leading to the realities “loonies”.

In other dreams, people have dreams of dying and or falling from buildings, and more. When someone has a dream of being hurt badly, sometimes it happens outside the reality and someone will actually move in their comatose state and bump into a gizmo and actually break something and or feel the pain that they experience in this “dream”. By the time you notice it you are automatically thrust back into the reality that way you do not know what just happened and the emergency supplies within the Coffin to put you back into this comatose state and in your reality.

Q: What are these Coffins you keep mentioning?
A: Coffins are places that you are put to rest. Your final resting place, your last bed, etc. It’s only fitting that these boxes (which are much like the capsule hotels in Japan) are named thus. They are the containers that your person is placed in. They contain all the necessities needed to make sure that you have a safe reality. Such as: Heart monitors, the necessary endorphins and other stimulants to inject you with in certain circumstances within your reality and outside of it.

Q: What makes the people chosen so special? How do they get chosen in the first place?
A: These people, who are chosen, often are chosen based off of the following things: their personalities, their observational skills, and their connections. How? If you don’t feel as if you belong in this world (personality), observational skills would be like if you “see” something and or you start to notice glitches in the program when like you witness that bank robbery and you were a paramedic treating the guy and the next day you take a day off and he’s the ice cream shop guy! Sixth sense stuff would be like… take 9/11 for example. In this reality, THERE IS NO WAR, you know that there is something that happened on that day… but you don’t know what. Then, memories flood your mind and guess what? You remember something… that never happened before.

Q: Can people still have kids in their virtual life?
A: Yes. They can. The program, as I stated before can manipulate people’s emotions, thoughts, feelings, and even memories. When it comes to the process of having kids, usually the program and its workers will arrange the best suitable match and find a proper mate for a person in order to ensure that the human race will live on. In the boxes that the humans are stored in, all the gizmos have the necessary tools in order to extract what is needed for this process. Although unlike a normal pregnancy, the women do not actually bare the child. The memory is implanted into their minds and the baby is stored inside another special box designed for this purpose.

Q: What happens if something happens to die in their reality?
A: If someone dies in their reality, their souls are recycled into a new body (otherwise known as a new life). The process itself is called Soul Cycling. Soul Cycling is what happens when someone dies in their reality and its outcome. This process can occur a maximum of five times—but, only when the individual has been part of the program since birth, and or their data (statistics, health information etc) have been integrated into the grid’s database. So, in most cases, those who were born “outside” die when they are “killed” in the virtual life, known as “Reality”.

Q: What type of society lives outside in the real world?
A: The society that exists out in the real world is filled with the really really poor people as well as the corrupt indivduals of society. As state before, 90 percent of the world population lives inside the bases experiencing "Reality". The remaining ten percent are bounty hunters, thieves, soldiers, robbers, farmers, technicians, programmers, robots, cyborgs, prostitutes, police officers, and politicians (the last two completely corrupt). The goverment is pretty much controlled by power-hungry and greedy figureheads. The filfth of society running the show.

Q:How does time pass?
A: In the virtual world, it is the year 2010. In the real world, it's 2110. Time passes normally and everything but the year is the same between both the virtual and real world.

Q: How do people become programmers?
A: Programmers are chosen based off of their information and their background. The program itelf, fliters through the data impuated in the systems avaliable (it hacks into any system). This job is considered to be an honor and is a well sought after job because of the oppertunity to jump often.

Q: What is "jumping"?
A: "Jumping" is the term that defines the action of going into and out of realities for a short period of time. The people who do "jumps" are those who can't afford to stay in "reality" for a long period of time, or are rebels.

Q: What rules do programmers live by?
A: Some laws that they live by are: make sure that people are safe in their jumps, during breaks they can do a jump, if you spot a revel you turn them in immediately or alert the guards, do not interfer with others jumps, and not to have any romantic interactions (or even interact) with those who have indefinate jumps.

Q: Who runs the program?
A: The humans believe that they have the program in the bag. But, the real fact is that no one controls it. It controls itself! The program is much like a virus that is able to infect any computer, phone call, and any robot to do it's bidding or do what ever it wants in both "reality" and the real reality.

Q: How does the program control people in both realities?
A: In the "Reality", it has viruses that are much like the Agents in the matrix movies. Except, that these viruses are much like computer virus, but they have an actual physical form in the "reality" only. In reality, the program can input wrong data into computers and make it seem like you are a criminal.

Q: What does everyone eat?
A: Everyone eats foods like we would eat... but minus junkfood. The rebels eat mainly a combination of all the vitamins needed to keep the human body alive, this resulting in a whitish porridge looking substance called mulch which is tasteless.

Q: Are there animals?
A: Yes and no. The animals that we know exist but they are slightly different in apperance. It's a dog eat dog world and nothing is as it seems. Since the bombing, all animals and plants have mutated. Not all are friendly... and some animals have changed their diets.

The Devil's Playground

In a small town known as New Haven, there is a legend about a demon that haunts a local playground that sits upon a lone hill outside of the outskirts of town. That playground, used to be one where most kids would venture as it had been brand new with its swings, slides, jungle gyms and much more. But, one day a child’s body was found. His body was found disfigured and brutally mutilated, wrapped up in the swing sets, his body hanging from the top.

The town’s people did their best to investigate the murder of the poor innocent child except nothing was found. Police officers looked to the forest for answers but found none and the town was devastated by the loss of the child. Months went by and then years. There were still no answers to the murder.

One night, a young teenaged couple decided to go for a nice long walk. They found the park, on the night of a full moon and there, the boy proposed to the girl of his dreams. Fresh snow laid upon the ground and everything looked so enchanting with the brilliant white light illuminating the night. The girl accepted legend says and they stayed there for just one moment when they heard an eerie song. The looked around and the boy pulled out a Polaroid camera that he had been carrying around-as he was an aspiring photographer-and then, the clock on his wrist, chimed that it was offically midnight. It was the last time that anyone had seen him. His fiancé, ran away screaming, covered in blood and since then has been proclaimed mentally insane, her young daughter taken away from her later on.

Police were forced to investigate the area yet again, finding the man’s condition to be similar to the child’s except the man’s body looked as if he hadn’t been killed by the so called demon-child that his fiancé had been sprouting. His fiancé was declared to be the murderer and the child was to live with a relative in another state (as the couple had been visitors). The police found the camera smashed into bits and the film and such that was in it was dust the minute they tried to remove the film. The photograph itself was missing.

Today, it is a local dare for high-schoolers to go to this so-called “Devil’s Playground” and look around for the supposed demon. Often enough, nothing happens. But on the night of a full moon or new moon, weird things happen. Tonight is the night of full moon… what do you think is going to happen next?

The Road to Our Destinies

In a distant land, many people have the power to do wondrous things. They can summon animals to help them in battle, weapons, and even control elements. They can even substitute their bodies with objects around them in order to escape an attack. These people are ninjas.

In the past, ninjas were once free agents. They fought for their clans and in order to protect their secrets. But one day, a man came to these Ninja’s great nation, and found that they all had one flaw. Power. They had too much power and they abused it. He scoffed at them and used their own Justus against them.

Ever since that day, the descendants of that one man have ruled over all the ninjas in the land. They laws they passed ended up separating various ninja clans to certain lands, and there they practice their Justus in peace. He brought the samurai system to this land and from there, the rivalry between ninja and samurai have begun.

But not all in this land may be peaceful. The lands threaten to fight one another again and certain measures have been taken. Although, all efforts may be in vain as another group is brought to the table, their name, “The Shadow”.

Thieves, murderers, rapists, and many of the dark ninjas and samurai have banned together to form one group. Their goal is to overthrow the lands rulers and the emperor, in order to gain power as well as as create chaos.

At Gun Point

In the world there are many world powers. The Chinese, the Soviets, the Middle East, and many more. But, the balance of power was often threatened by one thing. The Black Market. On the Black market, many weapons were created and sold to both sides of the wars that erupted between the powers.

Eventually, these wars came to an end. Except of course the sales in the Black Market never ended, and neither did the need to develop more weapons. In the end, the need for protection came to arise… and so, the wars erupted again. It became more of a chess match. From that point onward. The leaders of the warings sides created their very own elite team. These teams were made up of groups of soldiers who were the best in their fields. Whether it be asssination, intelligence, the medical fields, cultures, or whatever you could think of, they were the best at it.

These teams hold the key to the balance within the world. Every mistake they make adds in favor to the side they fight, and every time they come back with a victory they add points to the side they protect.

This story, is the story for those who risk their lives everyday in order to protect us from harm.

My Puppetmaster

Centuries ago, a young man was murdered under an oak tree. He was an infamous murderer, who enjoyed the sport of it and practically invented the word insanity in itself. So when he was killed, no one was upset to see him go. Not even those who he had called friends.

It turned out, through years of invesigation, that he had been double crossed by his friends and the minions he had because of his insanity, jealous, rage, and greed.

As time passed, the tree that he had been killed under, began to wilt and seemed to die. No one wandered near it, because of the tales of how demonic the tree was in this small forest. The spirit of the mudered individual still lingered nearby, waiting for his chance at revenge. His emotions could be felt by the animals nearby and soon enough, the surrounding area began to be poisoned by his emotions. His need for revenge, his murderous spirit.

Centuries later, the area surrounding the tree was to be cleared for the construction of a school. While cutting down the trees, a nearby toy maker found himself obssessed with the lone tree that had not yet been cut down. Through many meetings, the toy maker finally got he wanted, and when the tree he wanted was cut down, he was given all the wood from the tree.

That day he began to work on his new toy. A puppet. He made it a life-sized toy, modeling it after himself so it would keep him company till the end of his days. The day he finished, he never saw the light of day ever again.

From that day onward, people have begun killing themselves for no reasons, and crime ratings have gone up. Although, for some odd reason people havbe begun to act as if the things going on around them, haven't even happened! Forgotten those that they have loved... it's as if their lives were controlled by some invisible thread!

Although, behind the scenes, some people are beginning to see suspect that something isn't right and their lives will never be the same.

The Return of the Bear

Long ago, a young boy had been chosen to rule the land of England in his father's stead. He led the people of Briton of both the pagan faith and the Christian Faith against the unruly and barbaric Saxons, and was victorious. Although, like all great empires, his had fallen. His son and nephew Mordred had ploted against Arthur, using his greatest weaknesses; such as the fact that his wife and friend were having an affair with one another, and even the fact that he had made love with his own sister, the product being him; against his the great King.

The two had slain one another, both had laid dead at Morgaine's feet- the sister of Arthur and mother of Mordred. As the Lady of the Lake she took away the sacred sword of Excaliber and thrust it into the lake forever to be lost along with the legend of Arthur along with the mysterious land of Avalon.

But little did we know, that there was more behind the story.

King Arthur and their court had fought a war much bigger than anyone could have imagined, and that- was the fact that they had battled the darkness. And the darkness had defeated them.

As Morgaine had stayed at her brother's dying side, he whispered to her that the darkness was winning and it was succeeding in trying to kill their souls, destroying the light forever. So Morgaine, did the impossible. She divided their souls into two parts- so that one day the actions of their reincarnations would cleanse the souls.

But little did they know that the darkness had forseen her actions.

Throughout the years, the Order of the Bear did their best to pinpoint the many reincarnations of Arthur and his court. But as soon as they had found at least one reincarnation, the other was destroyed- destroying both the souls of the individual. That was until seventeen years ago, when a part of Arthur's soul, lingered within a small girl and darkness had claimed the darker half for its own.

Now, a battle rages between the Order and the Darkness in a race to find the remaining souls. With the fate of the world hanging in the balance, paths must be chosen. Welcome to the Dawn of a new Era.
