The following is a list of what you may do during the Trainer Action step of a battle.

Unarmed Strike

A trainer may choose to attack an opposing Pokemon with an unarmed strike. There is no Accuracy Check for this kind of attack which means that it never misses. In addition, you don't add any stats to the damage dealt unless you have a Feature that allows you to. Pokemon don't get to subtract anything from the damage dealt.

The Damage Check for an Unarmed Strike is 1d4

Weapon Strike

If your character has an Arms Feature and has purchased one of the items named by the Arms Feature, they may be able use a weapon to attack. This works exactly like an Unarmed Strike, except it deals more damage. The Damage Check will be listed in the Arms Feature's description.

Trainer Feature

Trainer Features are various skills that your Trainer will unlock as they level up. If you wish to use a Trainer Feature during a Pokemon battle, most of these must be used during your Trainer Action step. However, there are two properties that change when you can use a Trainer Feature,

Static and Interrupt

Static Features are always active and do not consume any Trainer Actions.

For Interrupt consider the following Feature,

Give it Your All: Trainer Feature
Prerequisites: Pokemon Trainer
One Time Use Only
Effect: Target one of your Pokemon’s Moves. It is a Critical Hit.
Interrupt

You would use this feature after your Pokemon used their move, causing it to become a Critical Hit. Your Trainer could have used a Trainer Action prior to this, but the Action for the next turn would be consumed. However, you could use another Interrupt on that next turn, because Interrupts only consume the following turn's Trainer Action.

If you ever have a question about when you can use a Trainer Feature, PM a crew member.

Pokedex

A Trainer's Pokedex gets updated with information as soon as they encounter a new Pokemon, meaning that they may count that Pokemon as "Seen" on the Pokedex checklist in their profile.

A Trainer may use their Trainer Action step to look into their Pokedex. They will then be informed of the Pokemon's type and if that Pokemon is above or below 50% of their Max Hp.

If a Trainer looks into their Pokedex, their Trainer Action step will end, but their Pokemon will still get to use a move.

Using an Item

If a Trainer has an item such as a Pokeball or a Potion, they may use it on their Trainer Action step.

If a Trainer throws a Pokeball, they must roll a 1d100. The crew member in charge of the encounter will state whether or not the Pokemon is captured. On a capture roll, you're aiming to roll below a certain number, so a 1 would be the most ideal roll in this case.

When a Trainer uses an item during their Trainer Action step, they will forfeit their Pokemon's attacking turn.
