Hey, kids! Do you ever play survival horror games far into the night and find that the battle isn't quite over once you lose consciousness? Then this topic is for you. Rant about dreams, hallucinations, fantasies, daydreams, or just creepy real-life experiences. Nicholaus is listening. 3nodding

I've had dreams with Pyramid Head in them, a few Silent Hill based dreams, and I think a few weird Clock Tower dreams...

Yeah. Bloody nuts in my mind.

And, this isn't subconscience, but it's still note-worthy. I used to be scared of the dark long after playing Silent Hill, The Suffering, or Fatal Frame. I've even, when I went to take a shower after playing The Suffering, stopped at the side of the tub and just stared at it while chills went down my spine. All through the shower I was turning back to make sure no Main Liners materialized from the water. >> <<

I think I've had a SH dream but I can't really remember what happened. Whenever it's really foggy it seems like nothing exists beyond what I can see, not sure if its from survival horror games...

I once had this really great dream.

I mean, I have some pretty crazy dreams, but this is definitely up there with being one of my most favorite of all times.

I remember slowly waking up in the dream, as though I had fallen asleep to reality and woken up to the dream itself. As though life itself had been nothing but a long slumber and I that finally managed to slip out of this comatose state. The ages I had been asleep had blinded me, and my newborn eyes struggled to adjust to the painful bright light of this new world. My muscles began to ache as the limbs of my body began to warm up and recalibrate their nerves. There is this strange elevated emptiness in the pit of my stomach, as though I'm floating. It's that weightless feeling you get when you fall back in your chair or when you dive to the bottom of a swimming pool and slowly resurface in a supine position. Cold was the first real sensation I remember feeling. As I regain my senses I come to the realization that I'm laying on my back in a shallow body of water. This beautiful pillar of light is shining down upon me from the heavens and it illuminates the gray and rust colored surroundings of this large crater I'm lying in. My body is stretched out in the center of a small pile of broken corroded pipes and rubble consisting of large sized chunks of concrete and broken tile. My location is on the bottom floor of this enormous building. I know this because there is this large hole in the ceiling that travels all the way up all these other floors, up so high I can hardly see the end. This is where this column of light is shining down upon me. The way it looks from the degree of wreckage around me, it would appear that my body fell from the sky and straight down into this building, breaking a large pathway as it went, like a wrecking ball. The whole thing is so absurd, it's a bit difficult for me to describe in words.

My mouth is dry but I manage to cough out some kind of half-choked cry for help and curl myself into a fetal position in an effort to maintain my body heat. No doubt that while I was having this dream, I must have kicked away my blankets and might have even stopped breathing for a second or two. Real world events that corresponded to the strange world I was now in.

I don't remember how long I must have spent trying to crawl my way out of that puddle of water and onto my feet. In dreams of course, there really is no concept of time, so it could have been minutes or hours.

I was wearing this faded rust colored prison jumpsuit that ill fit me and had that kind of used, foreign feeling that I associate with hand-me-down clothing that I might get from my cousins or at a garage sale. The bastards didn't give me any shoes, so I had to inch my way slowly down this dimly lit corridor over these jagged pieces of rubble and sharp broken tile bits. It's fortunate that in dreams, at least in mine, the sensation of real pain is diluted to just a general mood, if such a thing does exist, instead of a sharp feeling of discomfort. I had no idea where I was going. I guess to find help.

The rest of the dream kind of blurs from this point on, but I remember finding some dirty rags to tie to my injured feet to serve as shoes. There where these things running wild in this concrete labyrith I was lost in. They had plastic sheets tied around their rotting bodies with bits of copper wire. I called them the baggers. These revolting things would moan against the clear plastic wrapped around their faces as they shambled after me.

I think I woke up screaming, which is something I rarely do. I couldnt help but smile afterwards. Now, I had an idea for a great RPG! whee

One of my favorite past times is to look up Urban Exploration on the web. I just love abandoned buildings and such. Maybe thats a reason I love SH so much is all those derelict buildings. Anyway, sometimes I look through pictures of old subways and bunkers and think to myself..."Hey, havent I been there before?"

Man, that's pretty crazy and surprisingly well written. It would make a really good survival horror game(It's already very SHish). I've always thought the idea of a game that consists entirely of you're ascent through a building could be really cool(I enjoy designing games even though I can't do anything with the designs by myself).
This isn't about a dream but, has anyone ever been only part way awake for a long time? One time I went for at least half an hour without waking up all the way. I had this weird feeling that nothing was real just as if it was really a dream. I also couldn't sense that many things. I didn't feel tired or cold or anything. It was pretty damn weird.

I've considered it too, but then again I don't really live in any metropolitan area. You'd have to be pretty careful considering tresspassing(sp?) and related legal stuff. Also, the idea of being raped and left for dead in some god-forsaken hellhole by some vagrant/druggie/serial killer also comes to mind. Urban exploration is best done in groups.

Also, hazards like chemicals, bacteria, and asbestos is another consideration.

This is a good link I like to refer to:http://www.urbanexplorers.net/eqsafe.html

All in all, I have done some UE and its really fun! It makes you feel like your snooping around those wonderful derelict buildings in Silent Hill!

I had a recent pseudo-dream that had a bit to do with SH.

My mom called to get me up for school (in real life), but I fell right back into sleep. In my dreams, I was trying to wake up, cause I knew I had to, but everytime I thought I was awake and up and about, I was really still asleep. This has happened to me several times, where I have to fight for consciousness. stressed

Anyhoo, the thing was, one of the times I "woke up," I walked into my living room and there were Mannequin's from SH2 in there, except they were made of barbie-pink plastic and had ugly high-heels on. eek

I woke up after a couple more trys. sweatdrop

Has anyone had one of those annoying occurrences where someone calls you from behind in your dream and your actual corpsemobile turns around to answer it, thusly waking you up at 5AM?

Nah, but I've had half awake dreams where I think I'm about to fall and I ended up leaning back into my bed really hard(pretty weird). I've also had some weird hallucinations(happens some times when you clear your mind... sweatdrop don't ask).
