Kent has been flown in to the nation of Tohoku, free of charge. The various leaders of this place have hoped to stimulate the entire region's economy by starting up their very own Pokemon League and inviting Trainers from all over the world to participate. This Trainer has chosen the route of the solo Trainer for the time being and will travel on her own.
Her flight lands in a crowded city located in an arid desert. There happens to be a sandstorm about to brew just she lands, so she is instructed to go to a nearby cave for shelter. The city's populace don't have much sympathy for outsiders and this is the location that they send foreigners who need shelter from the storm.

As the Trainer leave the plane, she would feel a warm and dry wind brush against her face. The city that she has arrived in is in the Central portion of Tohoku and it is surrounded by a Desert.
This city was paranoid about outsiders and didn't completely support what their government had planned to do. The leaders of Tohoku had decided to import the Trainers from around the world into random locations in the region, making sure that any one area wouldn't get too crowded too quickly. They also made sure to inform the Trainers of what kinds of clothing they should bring, as they didn't want anyone to wear a T-shirt and shorts to an Arctic habitat.
On Nearra's flight in, she would have seen a collection of Mountains to the West and South of the city. In addition, she would have seen a vast Desert that seemed to sprawl endlessly into the East. She heard talk on the flight about the city that she was headed to, and it was likely that the city would have adequate shopping opportunities, a potential for work in order to raise money, and probably a Pokemon Gym.
Neary would have to remain in the Cave for a short while, but after the sandstorm ceased, she would have the option of heading towards the City, scouting out the area for Wild Pokemon, or venturing off in a different direction, seeing what she would stumble across.

Nearra was excited for this was her first adventure away from home. Her Grandmother had packed her a lunch for the plane ride that she had not yet ate. She sat down in the cave on its hard, earthy floor. She started to take out her lunch but then decided to do something else first. She took her Pokeball from her belt and released her only Pokemon, Tom Cruise. He was a Staryu type Pokemon and wouldn't be too happy to not see any water but it would give them some bonding time. The Staryu Pokemon gurgled with excitement as it examined the cave. "Do you think we should explore Tom Cruise?" said Nearra. Tom Cruise replied, "Staryu, Staryuuuuu!" "I will take that as a yes," replied Nearra with a smile. Returning Tom Cruise to its Pokeball she stood up and started walking deeper in the cave to find some Wild Pokemon to catch.

As Nearra walked deeper into the cave, she heard a low pitched grumbling sound. After rounding a corner, she would catch a glimpse of a large snake-like Pokemon made up of rocks. Thankfully, the large Pokemon didn't notice the Trainer. However, if she sent her Pokemon out, it would be likely that the snake monster would see her.

Nearra wanted to catch her first wild Pokemon. She grasped her Pokeball and took it off her belt. She threw her red and white Pokeball in the air and said "I choose you, Tom Cruise!" A blue light flashed and then shown a Staryu Pokemon. It gurgled with excitement as it was only its second battle and had so much fun in the last one against a Ditto. Nearra knew it was her move first against the Wild Onix Pokemon since Tom Cruise's speed was higher than the Onix. She then yelled, "Use your Harden ability, Tom Cruise!" Tom Cruise stiffened every muscle in its body and then a shell of transparent yellow covered the Pokemon.
Trainer's Dexterity: 9

The Wild Onix noticed a tiny star-shaped Pokemon appear near it. Since the Pokemon didn't appear to be very aggressive, the Onyx rolled around in some mud on the cave's floor, bathing itself in the dirt. It hadn't noticed the human yet, so wasn't concerned with another Pokemon wandering about.
Mud Sport – Ground
After covering the target, or themselves, in mud electricity becomes significantly less effective.

Effect: 1 Target, Coat
Mud Sport makes a Coat resisting Electric Moves.

Nearra was very excited that the Onix Pokemon had not retaliated. She had read about Onix Pokemon when she lived with her Grandmother and they are very strong and hard to catch. She looked over at Tom Cruise and started to decide her next move. Her Staryu Pokemon had just gained a level so she decided to say, "Do you want to use your new ability Tom Cruise?" The Staryu gurgled with tons of excitement. "Alright here we go," said Nearra, "Use your Watergun ability, Tom Cruise!" The Staryu Pokemon got all twitchy and started dancing around. It was very excited to use this move for the first time. Tom Cruise hopped in the air and blasted the Wild Pokemon with a powerful blast of water from it's top point. Water Gun – Water
The target shoots water from its mouth, hoping to irritate the target.

Nearra decided to use her Pokedex to find out the Onix Pokemon's health. Nearra took out her bright red Pokedex and pointed it at the Wild Pokemon.

Nearra's Pokedex blinks on. Its speakers begin to play a recording.
"Onix, the Rock Snake Pokémon. It tunnels through the ground which shakes when it raises its thunderous roar. It can move the ground at fifty miles per hour. "

Nearra was glad that her previous attack had not hit the Wild Onix Pokemon. She didn't really think that one through, she just wanted Tom Cruise to be able to use its new move to make it happier. "Let's get this Pokemon, Tom Cruise!" yelled Nearra. "Use your tackle ability Staryu, but try not to knock it out," she said to her new but powerful Staryu pokemon. Tom Cruise instantly reared back and headed straight for the Onix pokemon with everything it had in its muscles.
