I wasn't sure where to put this, so feel free to move the thread. :3
Also I will be spoiling things in the game and in the anime. Be aware.
Long post is loooong. So I've divided it into parts. Scroll to what you want to read and discuss about with me. Remember, everything is just my opinion.

Legendaries

I'll get into the nitty gritty of it first and say that once again the Box Cover Legendaries fail to impress me. They just look like spikey things. Just like Palkia, Dialga and Giratina, I feel nothing for them.
Victini doesn't make me happy either. Don't feel anything for it.

Now the Musketeer Trio (Cobalon, Terrakion, Virizion plus Keldeo) are really nice. I'll admit I'm biased because they're not bulky and spikey, but I adore the fact that they're based on the musketeers.
The Kami Trio, while being a nice idea, doesn't warm me up. Meloetta, while being cute just like Shaymin, just like Shaymin it feels more like collectable fodder.

Genesect however is really cool. At first I disliked it but when I watched more of the Best Wishes anime I realized what Team Rocket was doing. And how Genesect was going to be a big part of it. This really excited me. A semi-man made Pokemon. Sure we had Porygon and Castform - but those were "good" Pokemon. This is bad. Bad bad. I like it. biggrin Cannot wait to see this Pokemon.

Non-legendaries
Some Pokemon… just make me want to facepalm. An angry hamster/groundhog? A dragon that looks like it’s been made from Play-do? Also while I did like Kibago a little, the anime completely ruined him for me. Iris’ Kibago is just a general moron. I don’t mind clumsy, but he’s just dumb.

But those are my only complaints though. For the rest I think this generation is amaaaaazing. So many Pokemon I love, so many I want to have. I felt so left outside during Gen 3 and 4, but Gen 5 pulled me right back in. They look great and I want to hug them. I instantly fell in love with Erufuun and Kojondo, and last time that happened was with Vulpix.

The starters I had to warm up to, but now I love them. In the anime they are supercool. Especially the starter I wanted to get, Mijumaru/Oshawott, has a fantastically funny character in the anime. Brash, bold and yet lazy. xD I love him!

I was sad that there's was no connecting evolutions from last gens like what the other gens had. But I guess they really wanted to try something completely unique.

Game
From what I’ve seen in the game, I’m a bit saddened by the evolution screen. It looks so… digital. Kind of ruins my feeling on the idea of a completely different world.

The gyms are pretty nice. I like most of them and the themes they used.
However, ANOTHER dragon gym to be used as last gym? Come on. I hate how they keep glorifying the dragon type. Not only is the type really too strong against all other types, they keep hyping it up storywise as well. Personally, I feel dragon types learn too many other-type moves. They have fire moves against ice types. They have thunder moves against water types. And of course dragon moves for their own type plus you can bet your Pokedollars the gym leader’s Pokemon will go first.

The new villian team feels a bit silly. Still, I like how they're toying with the idea that the villians don't see themselves as villians. Which is much more realistic. Now if only they'd dump the clothing. xD

The game looks fantastic pixel art-wise. And Isshu is like every region lovely to explore. I cannot wait.

Anime
The Pokemon in the anime are way too awesome. I don’t know how they do it, it’s like the makers have this magic spell to instantly make all Pokemon cute. And what I love is how they all have their own characters, behaviors, etc. It’s incredibly fun to look at.

The Humans are sadly less fun. While Iris and Dento make interesting people to watch, they’re just… not Brock and Misty. They sure try to act like Brock and Misty. Iris is always making mean remarks to Ash while Dento can cook well. But Iris misses that actual spark Misty has, making her more annoying than witty. Plus Kibago is stupid. And Dento is weird. xP

Ash is being a moron as always. Perhaps even more. He’s losing countless number of times against random people. What the hell Ash, 5 generations later and you still LOSE to stupid crap?! Why doesn’t he ever grow up, or at least get some character development? It makes me want to facedesk something.

Team Rocket has become AWESOME. Dayumn, gone are the days of "We're blasting off again!" They've become like Mission Impossible - evil style. They've gone from comic relief to actual villians. I watch with anxiety. 8D

And of course the narrator is still a creepy invisible stalker. xD

IN GENERAL I really like this Generation. I can't wait to get the game.

More might be added. Or not. How do you feel about this Gen?

I havn't really seen the anime for this generation. I stopped watching after dp. Dawn made me want to headdesk every time i saw her face on the screen. Thank god they're introducing another gym leader into the series instead of an all to girly person hoping to win their pokemon beauty pagent with bows and whatnot. Please please tell me if the anime is worth watching again. I have higher hopes for it than dp, but am afraid that it wont have matured enough D;

some of the pokemon were pretty cool. Love the grass starter's final evo. It reminds me of milotic<3
I love that the game keeps oldie pokemon out of it until you beat the game. The graphics are now awesome. However, i agree that the evo didnt do it for me. I wanted something that finally looked like the show, not more digital. Also, pokemon is slowly going towards what i want. At minimum, for the attacks, i hope that you can actually see pokemon preform the attack. Not just turn into a bubble and jump off the screen (for fly) or move forward and have some big mark on the other pokemon without making contact (tackle.) I hope within so many generations, we can actually get pokemon to attack and you get to move out of the way of attacks and use more strategy. More like a real pokemon battle and not so simlulated.
I'm thanking god that they fixed the characters. I could not stand the birds eye view of the heros, and it was one of my biggest complaints. Sadly, now their heads look way too big. keep trying nintendo c:
The pokemon themselves, as i might have mentioned, i love most of them. They're actually trying to make pokemon again, not some crap that looks like a desperate attempt to bring a lamp, a refrigerator, a pencil, or whatnot to life. But some pokemon still really disapoint me. I had to take a moment when i found out that the epic ice type. was an ice cream cone.

I'm very excited about everything of the new pokemon. I have grown to many of them, so I'm not disappointed I'm more disappointed in most names in English. I quite like most legendaries, especially the trio. And I love that they are new dual types, fire/psychic, fire/ghost, bug/electric, ground/dark, ground/electric, dark/dragon, and ground/ghost. Awesome! XD If I'm not mistaken, never seen those types together. Please do correct me if I'm wrong. And I also think there are other new dual types that I have not mentioned.

Can't wait for the release. And the anime, have seen lots of good feedback to it and can't wait to see Iris in it and of course, N.

there were two things i was pretty disapointed about with the types. when they FINALLY get another godly type combo of electric and flying, first one since zapdos, they screw it up by making it cute and weak. i almost died when i found that out. and they still need a flying version of eevee. really :c

You mean the flying squirrel? Well, one of the new legendaries is eletric/flying too.

And we also need an eevee evo that is ground, ghost, steel. And my dream of the flying one isthat it has angel wings to fly. *w*

i just love that the region is based on nyc and the new york area. and i love how most of the pokemon represent that (the pidgeon pokemon, the garbage bag pokemon, the sassy cat etc)

Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, and Glaceon can be classic pokemon. They look more classic that most of the 3rd and 4th gen pokemon. And did you know that some of the new 5th gen pokemon could have been 1st gen? I know of one, saw it in a pokeblog. Wonder what happened, and I quite like that pokemon. Neither less, even if new ones can never compare to classic, is always fun to explore them and see what they can do.

About Team Rocket in the anime...

I'm a bit behind on the episodes, but I watched a couple of the newest dubbed ones this weekend, and I saw that Team Rocket was back in their white outfits trying to steal pokémon for Giovanni with an even weirder team motto than in D/P. >:C

And I'm like, "What the heck?!" I was enjoying their new roles as villains involved in a larger overarching plot to take over Unova for Team Rocket, but now they've reverted back to being a daily (i.e. every episode) foil to Ash and co.? Why? *facepalm*

I had the same thing. Apparantly something happened that foiled that big great Unova take over (but for some reason that episode got lost) and now they're just boring cookie thieves again. gonk
