The Breeding Check
When you wish to breed two Pokemon, they will need 8 hours of privacy in order for you to make the Breeding Check. This means that for 8 hours of roleplay, the two Pokemon cannot be used for battle or interacted with. If you wish, you may leave them at a Pokemon Center for this alone time.
Once this time period has expired, you will 1d100 to determine whether or not an egg was produced. Initially, you will have to roll under a 25 in order for an egg to be produced. However, there are a two things things that will change this number.
1. If the Pokemon are at different levels, it will make the Check more difficult. Subtract the higher-leveled Pokemon's level from the lower-leveled Pokemon's level in order to determine how much of a penalty there will be. For instance, if someone attempted to breed a level 15 Pokemon with a level 20 Pokemon, they would need to roll under a 20 on 1d100.
2. For each hour after the initial eight that you allow the Pokemon to spend together, the Breeding Check will increase by two points, meaning that it will get easier. This bonus caps at five hours after the initial eight.
If you roll under 10 on 1d100, you may generate a random number from 1 to 2. On 1, the Father's species is passed to the egg. On 2, the Mother's species is passed to the egg. If you do not roll under 10 but still pass the Breeding Check, the Mother's species will be passed to the egg.
Finally, any moves that the parents know that are on the baby Pokemon's Egg Move list will be learned once the baby hatches. Any moves that the parents know that are on the baby Pokemon's TM move list are learned once it has hatched. The catch is, only four moves may be passed onto the baby Pokemon in these ways. If you have the Trainer Class Breeder, you may pick which four moves are passed down. If you do not have this Class, a crew member will roll dice in order to determine which moves are passed down.
