well if you are stuck in a town there's bound to be a weapons store nearby. locate as many weapons as you can, find a safe and secure place to hide that has all the essentials, stock up on food supplies, preferably things that you dont need to heat up or keep cold, and kill off the animals as quickly as you can without getting yourself killed in the process.

Gather as many weapons as you can carry.
Help a few other people, giving weapons to those with the ability to use them. Only gather as many people as you think you can take care of or can take care of theselves. You want to avoid conflict amoung your group as much as you can.
Find higher ground preferably with a water source. Hunt the animals you plan to eat. Gather as many canned foods as are left, and any food that can last a while.
Be prepared to fight and kill humans as well because it wont be onnly the animals you fight for food and safety.
Find something like board games to help your group keep sane.
Teach the children all you can about hunting and fighting. If there are any in your group.
Do not rely on any rescue team. Be prepared to face that way of living for the rest of your life. If you think you wouldnt be able to you might as well kill yourself then and there because you will only be a burden to the rest of the group.
Do bother trying to exterminate all the animals. They are simply food that can and will fight back. If you kill all of them and there is no rescue you will either have to become a vgiterian or youll die.

Well it is a good idea but you would run out of ammo in the sooner or later so its not bullet profe. I like but how are you going to kill millons of
them is what I dont get you can try again this gets preaty hard first time i was in a contest like this tried 23 times failed all 23 so your not bad at this or anything you really need to think this out i know.

Well Im sorry but how could somthing keep them away really campin is not the way to go they will bring a larger pack every time because daed bodies are running out so this is not a good answer.

Agreed. Telling us the type of animal would also be helpful. For instance, if these are hordes of feral cats, you would react differently then if they were, say, hordes of grizzly bears. You've already mentioned that you don't want answers involving guns and rifles, since those will eventually run out of ammo. However, for those that don't know, using any kind of melee weapon on a grizzly generally does not work and is ill-advised. stare

I'm glad that I can make you laugh, but I wasn't joking. We have grizzlies out here. eek And unless they're drunk, they can be quite intimidating. There are few things funnier than watching a 3 year old grizzly bear stumble around drunkenly for a few hours before wandering back to the woods to sleep it off, though.

Really? That's cool! My brother works up at the Mt. Redoubt Lodge over the summers as a hunting and fishing guide. They would bury beer out back a few feet down with a wheelbarrow overturned on top to keep it cold and make space in the kitchen; they forgot to put the wheelbarrow back over it one day last summer, and a grizzly got into it. blaugh We all got a big laugh out of it. I'm in Montana now, so we sometimes see grizzlies wandering downtown and on campus.
