Summary
I know I kind of ripped this plot apart. I really, really love the over-arcing idea! But in short, I feel it needs the following things:

1. To account for the fact that we will only have 7 rooms with hosts.
2. To account for the fact that all the rooms should open at the same time.
3. Better cohesion.
4. A few things need further explanation.
5. We need a pinnacle for the main plot, as opening an 8th room seems impractical.
6. A clear beginning, middle, and end.

Feel free to disagree with me! Thanks for your time.

Introduction Manga I'm not sure that we have time to make a manga. Unless someone wants to take the initiative?

Long ago, in the ancient past of Gaia, there were 14 demi-gods that played games with each other. Pride, Humility, Envy, Love, Wrath, Kindness, Sloth, Zeal, Greed, Generocity, Gluttony, Temperence, Lust, and Chastity. While other demi-gods got to play with their powers, and affect the earth. These 14 were banned from doing so, as their powers left unchecked could destroy the world as we know it. Each one balanced the power of another one, although at this time they did not know know who balanced whom, and so they were always together, for the greater good of the world, despite what they themselves wanted to do.

Story Manga #2

One day long ago, another being came across these 14 and saw the power each one held deep inside them. This being knew that he could use these demi-gods to change the world into whatever he wanted, a place ruled by sin he thought. But for that he would only need 7, yes the 7 deadly sins. Pride, Envy, Wrath, Sloth, Greed, Gluttony, and Lust. But there was a problem with his plan, he knew the other 7, the virtues, could be just as evil and destructive, not only that, but the 14 demi-gods were as one huge family, they all loved one another way too much for his plan to work.

and so he bagan to plot...

For many years the being we would come to know as Sin plotted in darkness. If we are going to have Sin and Virtue, they can't have their own rooms because of funds / staffing issues. We could have them be like Eris from last year's ball?He hated his brother Virtue and could not figure out why the virtues and sins did not hate eachother just as much. Somehow, he wanted to win, badly. Some say it was it his pride that wanted Virtue gone, but whatever it was, he couldn't stand there being someone who could equal his powers over this world.

Many years past, and no one knows how he did it, but Sin used his powers to turn the 7 Sins against the 7 Virtues, and a great war began between Sin and his brother Virtue. I think we should have a reason. Maybe a spell?

After a great many years, unknown to the Sins or to the Virtues, the people of this world built a great tower, a tower with 9 roomsWe really can't accommodate 9 rooms. 7 rooms.. The first floor held a sealed door to the other 8, each room built for one Sin and one Virtue, with the top room of the tower meant for siblings Sin & Virtue. Somehow, through a means lost in time's wake, the people of that world trapped the 14 demi-gods, and the siblings into this tower, never to come out again. For the only way the rooms could open, is if the Sin and Virtue of that room worked together. thousands of years past..... This part confuses me, because there are both sins and virtue in the world. How are we going to account for this if we say they are locked away? Any suggestions?

The following underlined portion is questionable to me. I like the idea of someone unlocking the tower, though I don't know if this is the best way to do it. Opinions? One day someone stumbled upon the tower, and remembered the legend long forgotten. She thought to herself, "What if I could steal the powers of the 14 demi-gods and make it my own? Shirley Surely then I can bring balance to this world once and for all!". As she pondered for a great while, until an idea hit her. What if the decedents of those whom imprisoned these beings, could open the doores which their ancestors sealed long ago? If so, how could she lure them back here to open the tower up for her...

A cold breeze blew past her, as something whispered in her ear....

"Why that is simple my dear...take over the 9th Annual Ball, and have it take place within the tower itself. If you do this some decedent or another is bound to open up the seal on the first floor of the tower...and then what fun we shall have...."

This is the exit of the first two manga. From here, we will cut to the opening of the ball. Annual Ball will be running a room called "Balance". It will be the only room open at the beginning of the ball. Gaian's will gather for the party, in a circular room with 8 doos which they cannot enter. People will be curious as to why they cannot enter, but Annual Ball reassures them that everything is fine

One of the decendents of the one who sealed Pride's room will do something to open the room. I will leave it up to the individuial room's to decide what this action is. After this happens, the ghost of the ancestor who first sealed the room will appear as a ghost and utter a warning in a riddle. Guests will need to collect all of the 7 riddles to know of the horror that is to come when the tower is finally opened

Along with each room opening, there will also be a short introduction of what the sins are doing in their enclosed room at the time, and how they react to their room being opened. I will also leave this to the individuial rooms, as they can attune it to their own plot in their room
All of the rooms need to somehow open at once.

* Day #1 The room’s will open at different times during the day. I have not set exact times, however and the list of room’s may change depending on availability for that day. I was thinking each room could open within 1-2 hours of each other. This would leave room for support , as well as we would not need to worry about inactivity if the ball starts on a Friday and people cannot be on for work/school.As I just said, they all need to open at the same time to avoid confusion and give each room an equal amount of time to interact with guests. Later rooms would be at a disadvantage and not get as much attention because people would have already picked a room to hang out in.

• As for the room set up- we will need to have general names for the different rooms in the towers and a common front post (as we cannot edit it). All content would be placed in the thread upon it’s opening to discourage posting.
• This will be a good idea as well, because all room’s will have extra support upon their opening as most of the public will swarm to that thread as it opens. This will give others a break and allow for more help in the threads.

This room would be fine, but we need to make it more of a locked sticky than a place to hang out. We can't put hosts in it. Main Commons: Balance (where all the ball goers will first gather- Run by annual Ball Mule. This room will be open right as the ball starts)
First Floor: Pride, Humility
Second Floor: , Envy, Love
Third Floor: Wrath, Kindness
Fourth Floor: Sloth, Zeal
Fifth Floor: Greed, Generocity
Sixth Floor: Gluttony, Temperence
Seventh Floor: , Lust, and Chastity
Eighth Floor: Sin and Virtue (This will not open until the middle of the ball. When it is opened, chaos will break lose and destruction will ensure)We have funds and staff for 7 rooms, so this one will have to go as we did not anticipate it. We can have Sin and Virtue floating maybe?

Day # 2 People are now speculating of why the last room has not opened. Why has it not happened? Suspense is building.

•This is the day that we will release a mini plot about all of the people and room’s suspicions of why the last room has not been opened.

• We will also release a special manga about the girl who is taken over the ball and her frustration on the last room not being opened.
Again, I don't think we have time for a manga, and I also do not think we can have this room. We will need a different plot ending.

• Day #3 Something dramatic happens and the tower opens, the ball will fall into chaos. Every room’s NPC’s will be causing destruction and havoc I feel the pinacle of the room plots should be Saturday Night when we have the most people on. Agree? Disagree?

• Day #4 This is the end of the ball. This is the day where the plot will end. Gaians and the sins/virtues will work together to stop the chaos and lock annual ball away for trying to steal their powers. The sins/virtues will realise that they need each other to balance out power and give op their single lives to become one powerful being. Love this ending. <3 We just need to make it work.

I think you are forgetting the room that you are supposed to also host unless you took one of the other sins. If I m missing something please tell me. My main concern earlier was the room opening situation. It looks resolved now.

Your edits address pretty much all of the concerns I think most of us had. I will try my best to make it to the meeting tonight, but I have a birthday dinner for three people tonight, so I can't guarantee anything. I will hopefully be able to attend the next meeting, though. =D

I don't know if this is the place for me to post this...if not please just tell me to delete. Anything I write here can be discarded, these are just ideas for the plot.

I liked the idea that the virtues and sins were against each other and caused chaos in the world and were locked away into the tower to create balance in the world.

I think it might be nice to explore some different options as to why the person, whoever that may be, opens the door to the tower.

Was he/she power hungry and wanted the power of the virtues for themself?

Was it a dare or bet. (kinda like a bunch of kids and a haunted house) and the virtues were accidentally released?

Did Sin orchestrate the whole thing? Did he find a way for an outside person to release them so he could gain power? And was the person that let them out tricked into it or offered something by sin?

As for the war between the virtues and the Sins, I think that should be why they were locked in the tower in the first place. (just my thoughts smile ) I think that they were creating such destruction from their war that the ancient Gaians gathered together and locked them in the tower to restore balance. The Gaians could have built the tower specifically to hold them and imprisoned them within the tower with a great spell. Ok so if this isn't making sense please let me know.

I have more to add if you are interested in hearing it. If not, that is fine as well. smile

Not at all. We're pride. ^^ I factored that in.

I missed the meeting, was at work: here's my opinion.

I think Sin and Virtue being like Eris would be a great idea, but I feel like they should be released later into the ball. Maybe on Saturday, and they could be worked into the main plot.
What if the person who 'opened' the doors was like Eris as well? Except she/he is floating around all the way throughout the ball. It might be worth it to hold an 'update' room strictly for the use of hosts/cohosts, if possible. It wouldn't require any funds, and the door opener could probably update it with the main story line on the first page (wouldn't really have to do much either, just post story plot point at predetermined times) and hosts/cohosts could post alerts and updates and stuff that are relevant to the main plot (not the room plot). It's also where Sin and Virtue can post their information (like what room they are currently in, so that people who want to follow either can follow; don't know how practical that is though)
I feel like their being locked in the towers is what keeps balance, since maybe forcing them together and away from humans allows people to resist the Sins and Virtues. But when given direct power over people outside of the tower, commands can't be resisted (which is why they all want out, since they all want control. They can't control anyone from their rooms since they're still technically in the tower).

OK, so something is really confusing me: how do we say that the ball is in the tower, and open all the rooms at the same time, if we can't break the seal to the tower/rooms because it would release the sins/virtues or whatever? Maybe instead you could say that it's not a real seal, but more like a binding that forces the sins/virtues to stay in the tower. (that just makes more sense to me...)

As for saying that someone locked them away, to explain why those things are in the world, you could say that they still influence people that visit the tower, and spread the sins/virtues through the world in that sense? Like, anyone who visits is influenced one way or another by some sins/virtues, and spreads that influence back into the real world. T

hen you could say that if the sins and virtues were released, it would take the world out of censorship in a sense, but that if that happened it would change life as we know it in more ways than just good (virtues). So when sins/virtues are released on Saturday night (I think earlier in the day would be best neutral ), then hosts/workers can all say that now everyone is experiencing and exploring one way or another into the more potent ends of the sins and virtues. People could get into that.

Like, some people would RP that now they feel like super powerful in an evil way, and some in a good, and as people realize that this power or force or whatever is more than they can handle and that is is kind of making them into monsters, they will want to re-trap the sins and virtues, and that will be like the wrap up to the ball, gaians completing the games/tasks given in the front page of the threads to put the sins and virtues back in their places and right the world and catch the woman responsible for all of this.

Also, if you wanted to open a sin and virtue room to help the plot and whatnot, I volunteer to host! And I will raise the money for the room too (I have an idea involving a zOMG! fundraiser...) Just need to find a second host....

Quote me if you have any questions about the monster paragraphs above (sorry DX I just kept typing...)

Rest sounds pretty good!

You're right. The whole purpose of the plot is unclear, and everything is kind of a little muddled to me. @.@ So... from what I can gather from the plot revealed and my currently very muddled up brain, these are all my suggestions:

The whole purpose of the plot is to gather the Gaians to restore balance to all the sins and virtues, no?

1) The backstory's REALLY good. =D I say we keep that!! And I agree with Lady A that the sins and virtues are bounded by a very powerful spell to keep them in the tower, which was also cast with a spell to keep it away from the world's eyes, with only a small portion of their powers leaking into the world to keep the balance (if not how would there be sin and virtue in the modern world now?), and this is how Annual Ball was able to trace their existence and the tower as well as their past.

2) So strictly speaking, no one was able to trace or enter the tower. But Annual Ball managed to break a part of those spells, and so the tower (and all its floors simultaneously) revealed itself to the modern world. For a mysterious start, we can first reveal a mysterious tower appearing all of a sudden somewhere, hovering, before revealing to everyone Annual Ball and the backstory of the sins and virtues.

3) 'The sins and virtue fall into chaos'. What kind of chaos? Strictly speaking, if Annual Ball is here to steal their powers, shouldn't Annual Ball be the one causing chaos instead of the sins and virtues in the peak of the plot? All throughout the story it's clearly revealed that the sins and virtues are already causing chaos among each other in their respective floors, so what's the difference? I suggest we have Annual Ball wreak havoc in the peak, and after thousands of years of fighting with each other, the Gaians unite the Sin and Virtue (this can be the main contest in the room, uniting them) and together they take down Annual Ball, resolving the conflict between the sins and virtues and reaching a state of harmony between both sides.

If I get anymore ideas, I'll be sure to post them up on here. This needs time to think. =3 Feel free to discuss them.

I totally agree with this. I think it would work better for the sins and virtues to stay in their area.

The only thing that confused me is, are there two rooms on each floor for the sin and virtue or are the in the same room? Or would the ball goers stay in the main room of the floor and the sin's and virtue's rooms be off to the side? There are a few other things that kind of make me go 'What?' but other people have already posted them, but it is a rough plot. I get the main idea of what you're saying here and I really like it smile

We actually discussed a almost a completely different direction at the meeting you guys couldn't attend. I'm holding another one on Tuesday, where we will discuss things further.

I'm going to lock this thread since people are still brainstorming towards a plot we're overwriting. As I said in the announcement, I'd prefer to do the talking at these meetings, or through private messages so it's more of a discussion.

Thanks guys! <3
