I'm sure you've all heard of the church in Kansas or Nebraska, wherever. Their protests have have been on news stations everywhere as they try to anger the families of heroes who have died for their country. And once the families or friends retaliate, this church sues them. How can these people claim to be followers of Christ? It's people like them that destroy the name of Christianity to none believers. Just the mention of them makes my blood boil.

I have a brother currently serving in the U.S. Military, following the path he believes God wants him to take. I pray for his safety everyday, but if, on the chance desides He wants my brother with Him more, then I would hate to see these people in my town, dishonoring my brother and God. But God tells us, no matter what they do or how many times they hurt us, that we must forgive anyone who harms us in any way. I find that the hardest thing God asks of us. Does anyone else have trouble with that?

I find it difficult to call those who propagate hatred in order to glorify Christ, "Christians". Mistaken or intentional, we are commanded to give them the same grace we were given by Jesus. We can rebuke them, but we must do it in a way that exemplifies Jesus's example.

And to answer your last question: I struggle with that commandment every waking moment, of everyday, imperfectly, and unapologetically even in the face of failure. Look to Him and he will make your path strength. Let His sacrifice give you the inspiration to live and move forward in His footsteps.

Westboro. 'nuff said.

I have that problem too. Was struggling with it just last night, actually. I found out that while I was away at Basic, there was some bad stuff that was going on with my family. When I found out about it, things started turning shades of red. It's everything I can do to keep from getting on a plane and putting my fist in someone's teeth.

But I won't. Why? Because I love God more than I'm angry with the people back home. One day, some of the people involved could be my brothers and sisters in Christ. Pray, study your scriptures. Above all, seek the Lord. Ultimately, what happened back at home isn't important. It doesn't change the fact that I am His servant and He is my Lord. Ten thousand years into eternity, I doubt I'll even remember what happened. Even if I die in the desert and those WBC "people" show up at my funeral, it won't change the fact that I am His. Evil men come and go, but God is forever.

"Whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say 'It is well with my soul.'"

I would forgive them after bathing them in tabasco sauce.

If they happened to have a little bit of control over the government we would have what would be the starting of a third reich.

Seriously, they think God hates the world.

There's even a page mentioning why he hates every country. The page is called... YOU GUESSED! godhatestheworld.com.

I am certain I have more chances to go to heaven than they do... and I am such blasphemer.

i agree, it's awful that they do that, but maybe someday they'll have their eyes opened, and it will most likely hurt. then they will need to find forgivness intead of hatred.
As to the second question, YES!!!!!!! i have people who have hurt me and I am still needing to fully forgive them, and someday, I will, with God's help. on my own, there's no way it'd ever happen.

Ah, the Westboro Baptist Church. I hate them. Which stinks, because I really hate to hate people. They should know that nobody really goes into the army to be glorified or anything, they just do it because someone has to. They say God hates everything, like gays, bisexuals, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, chocolate milk, rubber duckies, you name it! We all know God is a loving god and even spared Cain's life after he killed his brother Abel. And Jesus loved people of all walks of life; prostitutes, lepers, tax-collectors, thieves---basically everyone. I find these people to kind of be an embarrassment to Christian Americans...or even Christians in general.
