Kent has been flown in to the nation of Tohoku, free of charge. The various leaders of this place have hoped to stimulate the entire region's economy by starting up their very own Pokemon League and inviting Trainers from all over the world to participate. This Trainer has chosen the route of the solo Trainer for the time being and will travel on her own.

His flight lands in a small village next to a rather large freshwater lake. While the village itself wasn't too interesting, the freshwater lake housed an interesting variety of Pokemon.

As the Trainer leave the plane, he would feel a slightly damp and cool wind brush against his face. The village that he has arrived in is in the Central portion of Tohoku, and it has varying kinds of landscape around it.

The leaders of Tohoku had decided to import the Trainers from around the world into random locations in the region, making sure that any one area wouldn't get too crowded too quickly. They also made sure to inform the Trainers of what kinds of clothing they should bring, as they didn't want anyone to wear a T-shirt and shorts to an Arctic habitat.

On Kent's flight in, he would have seen a forest that spread in all directions away from the lake. In addition, he would notice that the forest melted into a marsh in the South. He heard talk on the flight about the area that he was headed to. To the West was a larger city. This place would likely have adequate shopping opportunities, a potential for work in order to raise money, and probably a Pokemon Gym.

Kent would have the option of checking out the freshwater lake for Pokemon, venturing out into the forest, heading to the marsh, going to the larger city, or heading off in a random direction to see what he could find.

Kent laughed at finally getting to the edge of the lake. Wow, the idea of so much fresh water just lying around was kind of intoxicating. On Cinnabar Island, the only real body of water to swim in was the ocean. Kent loved diving off the cliffs into the frothy salt water below. He shivered a little bit. It was colder over here, and given he'd lived on an island with a volcano, and hung around with a bunch of people with fire Pokemon, what was cool here was cold to him. But still, he wasn't going to pass up on the opportunity to take a swim in a lake.

"Come on out, Thoth. We're here." The Torchic poked his head out of his bag, looking around. Kent didn't like cooping pokemon up in their balls for that long unless necessary. Thoth hopped from his bag onto the ground and the bag quickly followed him. Kent stripped off his shirt and pants, along with his shoes, tossing them onto his bag. "Torchic..." "Just because you don't like water doesn't mean you have to spoil it for me." Kent grinned at Thoth.

He tested the water with his toe. Dang that was cold. Best thing to do was to get it over with. "YAAAAAHOOOOAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!" He screamed out, quickly sprinting into the water and submerging himself. He popped up, shivering uncontrollably. Very cold, maybe this was a bad idea. Thoth stood on the bank, watching Kent to make sure he was alright before pecking at the sand.

After hearing a bit of laugther and some splashes, a curious Pokemon was drawn towards Kent and Thoth. If one looked towards it, the only thing they would see would be a small blue ball floating in the water, which was actually the tip of its tail. The Pokemon was small, round, and as blue as the sea. It watched the Trainer for a few moments before swimming closer and then allowing its big ears and part of its upper body to surface. It looked at Kent and asked quite a serious question, one that wasn't intended to be taken lightly, "Marill?"

Kent didn't notice the floating blue ball at first though until it got closer. He looked at it curiously, wondering what it was. It looked like one of those bobs you attached to your fishing line so you knew where it was. Only upon looking around, he didn't notice anyone else nearby, so it just might be something someone had dropped in the lake. How rude of them, didn't they know not to litter? Well maybe it had been an accident. Kent was about to swim over to it to take it out of the water when other parts surfaced. Oooh, it was a pokemon.

He grinned sinking into the water so only his head was above the surface of the water, mimicking the pokemon. The Marill might not have meant for it to be intended lightly, but Kent didn't take things any other way. "Hey there, didn't realize you were here. Want to play?" It really wasn't a euphemism for battling. He was currently in the lake with nothing but his boxers on. His belt with his pokeballs on it were with his clothes and bag, on the lake's shore. By the time he managed to get out and get to them, the Marill would likely be gone. Thoth was currently looking at Kent and the Marill. He was concerned for Kent's safety, and not without good cause. He'd gotten himself into plenty of stupid situations.

((He's interested XD))

The Marril was a bit dismayed that it didn't have its pressing question answered by the weird pink creature in the water, but it became quite interested with what it had to say. The Pokemon bobbed up and down in the water like a buoy and happily cheered, "Marill, Marill!!!!" The Pokemon rubbed the side of its face with one of its stubby arms in contemplation. It then nearly leaped out of the water in excitement, clearly hatching a brilliant idea. After swimming a little closer to Kent, it lifted both of its hands to its eyes, covering them. Since ts body was so round, it was a wonder that the Pokemon could even manage to perform such a feat. With its eyes covered, it pretended to look around in the water. Having covered a bit of ground, the Marill then spoke aloud, noticeably elongating its speech a little, "Mahhhhrill." It then pointed to Kent and spoke quickly, "Maril!" The Pokemon repeated these steps. It looked around for a bit with its eyes covered and then spoke as if calling out to someone, "Mahhhhhrill" Then pointed to Kent again, indicating that he needed to say something, "Marill!"

Well, the Marill seemed friendly enough, which was good. He wasn't sure exactly how pokemon around the world acted, but the ones on Cinnabar Island could get quite testy. He watched the Marill's antics. It looked like it was trying to explain something to him, perhaps demonstrating a game? It would make sense given what he'd said. It looked vaguely familiar... "Uhhh, it's on the tip of my tongue, what was it?" He hadn't exactly been the type to play a lot of games as a child.

Marill Polo
The Marill wishes to play a game of Marco Polo, or in its case, Mahhhrill Marill. It will roll 1d10, which will represent how well it hides. Kent will need to cover his eyes and roll a Wisdom Check of 1d20. If his roll exceeds the DC that is set by Marill's roll, then he will find Marill, tag it, and win the round. If he fails, Marill wins the round. The first one to win three rounds wins the game! While Kent is searching, he may call out, "Mahhhrill?" and the Pokemon will respond to this.

The Marill was confident that it had explained its game quite in depth. It then watched Kent, expecting the Trainer to cover his eyes so that they could begin to play. The Pokemon was quite excited to finally have found a playmate. Most of its siblings and cousins had already evolved, so they were too boring and old to play with. This pink creature with hair seemed like it knew how to have a good time. Marill only hoped that its guess about the human was correct. If Kent decided to play the game and cover his eyes, Marill would swim around in the lake and find a good hiding spot.

Kent suddenly fit the pieces together. "Ahh, I get it, it's like Marco Polo. And I'm guessing I'm doing the seeking than." "Torchic." Which pretty much translated into 'Took you long enough.' Kent had been with Thoth long enough to get the general gist of it, and he stuck his tongue out at Thoth, grinning. "Well, not all of us can speak pokemon. I make do with what I can." Thoth just gave a low chirp. His trainer was so immature at times.

"Alright than, let's get this started." He covered his eyes with his hands so that the Marill could go hide. Despite his quirks, Kent could be a pretty perceptive fellow. Well, noticing the details anyway, not necessarily linking them all together. He wasn't sure exactly how long he was supposed to wait, so he began counting down slowly from forty. That should give the water pokemon plenty of time to hide somewhere in the lake. At the end of the count, he called out, "Maaaaaarilllllll."

"Marill!" Marill squeaked with excitement as Kent began to play the game with it. The round Pokemon was impressed with how quickly the Trainer managed to find his way around the lake with his eyes covered. It had been quite a long time since the blue water mouse had managed to have so much fun. Its family really had become quite dull as they grew older, leaving the younger Pokemon in the group to make up games to play by itself. Having someone to play a game with was quite a unique experience for the bobber-shaped rodent. Marill bobbed away to another hiding spot, aiming to make things a bit more difficult for Kent by sitting lower in the water. a smile spread across its face as it wondered if the Trainer would manage to find it.

"Hah!" Kent gave a short laugh as he tagged the Marill. While Kent might be pretty quick getting the lake, due to a mental picture he developed of what he had seen, he definitely wasn't that graceful. Walking through the water was rather difficult, and he was used to not being able to feel the floor of the body of water. So he probably looked rather ridiculous out there with eyes covered and losing his balance every so often. But still, this was fun. He was glad to know that not every encounter with a wild pokemon was going to result in violence. He gave the count again before going to search for the Marill a second time. "Maaaaarillllll" He called out.

The Pokemon had called back, "Marill!" Yet again, the Trainer managed to impress Marill with his skill at finding the blue ball Pokemon. The youngster was having quite a good time and didn't want it to end. Unfortunately, it seemed as though the Trainer was outclassing the Pokemon when it came to this game. To be honest, Marill didn't care who won or lost. It was glad that the Trainer was so good at the game. It did its very best to find a third hiding spot, hoping that it would fool the Trainer at least once. This had indeed been one of the best days that the Pokemon had managed to have in a while. It tried not to think about the end of the day and the end of fun, for it didn't even want to return to its boring family.

Kent was rather impressed with himself. It had taken him a while each time, but he had managed to find the Marill both times. This was definitely a good day. And who knew, he might even be able to catch a pokemon after this. He was having a good time with Marill and didn't want to have to hurt the pokemon in a battle. He counted down even slower, trying to give the Marill plenty of time to hide. He paused, giving him plenty of time to listen. "Ooooh, Maaaaarilllllll." He called out.

"Marill!" The Pokemon nearly jumped out of the water after Kent found it for a third time. It seemed as though this Trainer was quite skilled at games. The plump blue ball had managed to have quite a bit of fun playing with the Trainer. It had always been curious about humans before, but was always warned to stay away from them, for a majority of the humans thirsted for battle and Marill and its family were a fairly peaceful bunch. The fact that it had met a human with a kind heart made the Marill a very happy Pokemon. It swam over to Kent and give him a hug with its stubby arms before cheering, "Marill, Marill!!!!" This would basically translate to, 'I had a lot of fun!'
