Her eyes were closed and she muttered incomprehensible words in a rhythmic manner. She had to keep chanting, as she needed to watch over her ward, keeping them safe this day.
Nothing could break her concentration at this moment in time; she was practically in another plane of existence, in mind only of course. To her, the world had ceased to exist, the spirit world being her only existence now.
Deep in Gynne’s mind, she hovered gently in a sea of purple. Everything existed at once around her, though she chose to ignore it. Her attention was completely focussed on them. They were the important one at this time.
She hovered overhead and could see everything they did. There they were waking, here they were eating and here-
The world slowly faded into red, then, even more slowly, into black. Everything was swirling, swirling around her. She was falling, falling, falling...
Mongoose looked over Gynne’s body through his scope. The tiny bullet hole in the window framed where her head had been moments ago perfectly.
“I don’t see what’s so special about all these ones with the weird powers,” they said under their breath. “They seem pretty easy to find to me.”

A figure walked through a less travelled part of the cavernous lair. Here, the air began to smell of incense a little. Wrinkling their nose a little, the figure walked on.
They arrived at their destination. They stood before a full reconstruction of a Shinto-style shrine, every detail perfectly rendered. The figure climbed the stone steps, with one thing on their mind: LittleLadyPhoenix.
They ignored all the minor buildings, heading straight for the main hall. They went inside cautiously. There she was, kneeling in the centre of the room, a katana by her side.
“I’ve been expecting you,” she said, without opening her eyes. “Viper, isn’t it? Well then, I hope you’ve come prepared.”
Viper snarled and drew their own blade menacingly.
“You really think you stand a chance with me?” they said quietly.
“We will see,” was the reply.
LLP slowly got to her feet, picking the sword up as she went. Finally, she opened her eyes, levelling with her opponent.
Both figures were cloaked in the robes of the cult, making it difficult to tell anyone’s identity. LLP laughed softly.
“You will never stop us,” she said. “The Dark Ones will rise and when they do? You’re going to burn forever. Undying, but not without pain.”
The two squared off, taking a fighting stance. They circled slowly around the room, keeping eye contact at all time, Viper’s eyes shining beneath the dark of their robe from the small lanterns hanging.
Viper made a vicious swing; however, LLP parried it effortlessly. She made her own strike, Viper blocking in much the same way. The blades clashed together furiously, sparks flying in every direction.
Viper swung high and, when LLP raised her own sword to block the blow, they charged forward, knocking her to the ground. LLP jumped up, but Viper was above her.
They made a brutal downward strike, with LLP barely managing to block. She rolled to the side and jumped up, making a frenzied slash at Viper. Viper’s parry sent her blade flying from her hands, sliding across the ground as it landed.
Her eyes widened as Viper raised the blade upward, bringing it down toward her neck.
Steel collides with flesh,
A clash of metal is heard.
Broken blade hits floor.
A clash of metal is heard.
Broken blade hits floor.
Viper stared at the snapped sword in disbelief.
LLP laughed venomously.
“I told you before,” she cackled. “You will never stop us! I knew you’d come, so I had a Watcher look over me and keep me safe.”
Viper swore, however, there was nothing more they could do here. They fled.

Buzzkid24 had been having a crisis of faith ever since he came down here. Yeah, he wanted to save the Dark Ones, I mean, who could blame anyone for wanting to save a bunch of helpless demons, locked away for so long simply for existing?
But on the other hand, everything seemed so...well, evil. This couldn’t do. It wasn’t what he wanted. He just wanted to help something in need!
However, this, this was the last straw. He couldn’t stand for this.
“Buzz, you are to give your life essence unto the Dark Ones, so that they may live again!” the elder standing over him announced.
“It wasn’t funny five minutes ago and it isn’t funny now!” Buzz cried out. “Let me go now! Really, do you see me laughing? I’m not laughing!”
“No, child, this is no joke. I do not joke,” the elder replied, irritated.
“Let me go this instant!” Buzz shouted.
The elder, quite uncharacteristically, rolled his eyes. Without another word, he raised the sacrificial knife above his head.
“You will hear about this later! I’m not going to forgive this!” Buzz angrily exclaimed.
The knife dropped.

Meanwhile, in the sacrificial afterlife...
Hatmaster was floating idly. The cosmos flared behind him.
A billion universes were born and died with every passing moment.
A cold breeze carried Hattie toward a bright green light.
He surveyed all around him.
“Well, this sucks...” he sighed.
