The Sevii Islands DESCRIPTION: Former home of the Kanto Battle Tower, the chain of islands have long been deserted since the opening of the Battle Frontier in Johto. Some say you can see Hoenn from some of the islands if you try hard enough...however, that's just a rumor. LOCATION: A few hundred clicks west of Kanto. It's only reachable by plane or boat. PEOPLE: The Sevii Islands are one of the few areas in the Pokemon World free of people. Currently the only people allowed to access it are those with high enough security access (such as Professors, archaeologists and other researchers) or those that are able to break the blockade. RESOURCES/EVENTS/PLACES OF INTEREST: There are seven islands, where's the fun of me telling you where everything is? MYTH/LORE: There are rumors that these islands contain never before seen Pokemon; Pokemon that haven't even been discovered in the Unova region. If you're not into that type of stuff you could always loot the abandoned buildings. Rumor has it there used to be a Rocket base somewhere on the island, and that prehistoric Pokemon roam the caves and skies of this untouched land . . .

Bill PokeManiac Extraordinaire! "Have you tried turning it off and on again?" "This was a triumph . . ." Bill hummed a few notes under his breath as he tapped away at the laptop, various windows with various important titles battling for his attention. "I'm making a note here, huge success . . ." Another few notes, and some more tapping, this time with noticeable results - the large databanks to Bill's left, solid walls of circuitry and silicon, thrummed into life, various screens around the room in which Bill was working blinking on. The Pokemaniac grinned as he pushed himself away from the desk, laptop still perched on his legs as the swivel chair trundled towards the primary interface. "It's hard to overstate my satisfaction . . ."

Jackson Vakarian Goldenrod City Gym LeaderWater-Type"It never rains, but it pours." Several hours later, Jackson's back finally began to kill him, and he was forced to sit up, the board covering his secret compartment lifting on its hinge as he did so. He wasn't old by any stretch of the imagination, but the size of the compartments was hardly osteopath-friendly. "OK, I don't care if we get caught anymore - I need to stand up." He clambered up on to his feet, rolling his shoulders and stretching - these Islands had better be worth it. He looked to the other compartments, wondering if the others had had as much trouble as he had - he tapped the cover of the one nearest to him with his boot, hoping to grab the attention of whoever had decided to settle down in it.

~ Mina Caulfield ~ Researcher=Team Rocket "Have you met Kanra? He's really amazing." "He knows everything. He's never wrong." "I'm sure he has the answer." "If he told you to go jump off a bridge and die, would you?" "Mmmm, probably... yeah." ||== Mina could barely move inside the cramped compartment. She'd had to return her Manectric to allow herself room inside, but even then there wasn't much space to spare. She wondered how Jackson and Khan ever fit themselves inside their own pods. After waiting for some time- she hadn't really paid attention to how long it had been since they hid themselves- she was startled by a loud crash on the door of the compartment she waited in. She even jumped a little. It was probably Jackson, but whoever it was, it probably meant that it was safe to come out now. Slowly stretching, easing her body out of the cramped position she had left it in, Mina opened the hatch, ducking as she stepped out and into the hold- which for some reason looked more spacious than it had earlier. "Thanks for waking me, I suppose, are in order..." She murmured, half to herself, half to Jackson, as she stood up completely, releasing her Manectric, Freyr, again. Freyr, at least, seemed glad enough to be able to accompany her master again. Dogs were so loyal. Standing quietly, Mina and Freyr simply waited for Khan to retrieve them.

“ Isn't battling trainers why we became frontier brains? ” “ No, battling pokemon is why we became frontier brains. Battling trainers is what makes us miserable. ”
"Well, these compartments seem a little bit smaller than I remembered..." Khan mumbled as he got out, stretching his back a bit before standing up. "Well Hans, give me a status report.." The older smuggler turned around in his seat and sighed a bit, but he then proceeded to give Khan his "status" report. "Annoying a** Tentacruel decided that our ship shouldn't be here so it tried to latch on. A few sonic charges showed that thing we weren't to be messed with. I avoided all perimeter, secondary, and we're just about past the primary blockade patrols. In a few minutes, we'll be scott-free." Hans smiled as he returned to piloting the Gray Manta, suddenly the radio started up, a voice, however garbled, could be heard.
"Hello? What's going on? Who is this?"
Hans looking somewhat confounded. He clenched his teeth and shrugged; he looked at Khan who made some gestures at him, some were friendly, some were not. Hans returned some of the gestures before responding.
"Uhh...everything's fine. We ran into a rogue school of Goldeen. Real nasty little things if you know what I mean. But we're all fine now. Yeah, we're all fine, thank you. How are you?"
"We're sending a patrol over, give us your coordinates."
Again Hans and Khan silently communicated to one another. Hans looked somewhat worried, Khan shrugged, unsure of what to do. After a few more seconds, Hans responded to the voice on the other end of the radio.
"Uhhh...Negative. Negative. Our fuel tank has sprung a leak. Really dangerous right now. Give us a few minutes to patch it up, will you?"
"Who is this? What's your operating number?"
"Uhhh..."
Khan flipped out his revolver and shot the radio. Twice.
"Boring conversation, anyways. Hans, punch it. We got a few minutes before they'll be all over us. Stop your complaining, I'll pay for the damages."

Jackson Vakarian Goldenrod City Gym LeaderWater-Type"It never rains, but it pours." Jackson quirked an eyebrow at Mina's response, mumbling under his breath as he walked over to their two compatriots, "Wonderful girl. Either I'm going to kill her or I'm beginning to like her." He reached them just in time to see Khan shoot the radio, and he suddenly realized that Khan might not have as good a plan as the Water-typer had thought - recalling the Tower Tycoon's detailing of the patrols, the Gym Leader stormed above deck, the cold air a sharp contrast - just as the searchlights and shapes in the water contrasted to the scene he'd like to have been seeing right about now. He stepped back, towards the stairs, turning slightly so that Khan would be able to hear him. "At the risk of sounding redundant, Fedora . . . it's a trap!"

~ Mina Caulfield ~ Researcher=Team Rocket "Have you met Kanra? He's really amazing." "He knows everything. He's never wrong." "I'm sure he has the answer." "If he told you to go jump off a bridge and die, would you?" "Mmmm, probably... yeah." ||== 'Kill,' huh? Perhaps Jackson did recognize her after all... At any rate, Mina and Freyr followed after Khan into the cockpit where they found Hans carefully piloting the craft. Everything, so far, seemed fine- only a simple pokemon had gotten in the way, and pokemon were easily dealt with. Everything seemed fine- at lest until they picked up a radio transmission from one of the patrol boats. After a short exchange between the two of them, Khan got fed up with the voice coming out of the radio, pulled out a revolver, and shot it. Mina had to admit, it was pretty cool. There weren't many people who she knew happened to carry firearms. Freyr barked at the noise- evidently her more sensitive ears didn't like the sound of a gun going off so close by. Jackson quickly made his way to the back of the boat, looking outside behind them at the patrols that were chasing them. Mina knew Khan had turned down her suggestion before, but she starting to think that a couple boats being struck by lightning and sinking might be attributed to stormy weather. She wasn't really used to sneaking. Whenever Kanra wanted something, there wasn't much that could stand in his way, so having to run from the patrols... was an odd feeling, to say the least. She didn't plan on being caught, but now that she thought about it, it would be a good way to get back to Johto... If she was arrested, they would have to transport her back to Johto, where Kanra would no doubt be awaiting her return. ...But that was only if they were caught. She would've preferred to be able to return with Khan then return with the police. "So," She turned to Khan, who still stood in the cockpit, "What's the plan now?"

“ Isn't battling trainers why we became frontier brains? ” “ No, battling pokemon is why we became frontier brains. Battling trainers is what makes us miserable. ”
"A trap..? Great, looks like someone tipped them off we were coming." Khan shot a glance to Mina that said something along the lines of "Is Kanra behind this?" "Alright Hans, engage the boat's Ballast Propulsion system, also fill the ballast tanks to full to give us a lower profile." The ship shook as Khan gave the orders. He could feel that the Hydro Cannons from the Blastoises were getting closer. Looks like the patrol ships were gaining on them. Using the security desk, Khan was able to get a good look of who was tailing them. Seemed to be there were two patrol boats following them, one from their 7 and the other from their 5. Radar indicated several more coming from the 9 and 3 positions. "Stay sharp, we got two more coming from our 5 and 6. I thought you said this could outrun them, Hans. I thought you said this was fast." Khan said somewhat frustrated. Then again, the ship used to belong to him so he probably shouldn't have been talking.
"Watch your mouth, buddy, or you'll find yourself swimming home. Once the BPS is engaged we can outrun them. I know a few maneuvers. We'll lose 'em!"
As Hans said this the boat rocked again as another Hydro Cannon was fired. It was closer this time, water from the explosion sprayed across the deck, spilling across the windows.
"Yee-haw, here's where the fun begins!"
"Damnit, Hans, engage the BPS!"
"The tanks are still filling up, why don't you kids be useful and main the weapons or something?"
"How long till the damn tanks fill up?"
"5 minutes tops!"
"At the rate they're gaining we won't make it past two!"
"Traveling through the open seas ain't like dusting crops, boy! Without precise calculations we could go right through a reef, or bounce too close to a whirlpool and that'd end your trip real quick, wouldn't it? "
"Arceus Damnit, Hans. You better make sure we get to the island in once piece!"
Khan the proceeded to slide his chair over the security desk. The hull of the boat was shaking from each successively closer attack. Typing frantically, Khan activated the weapon systems. Over the PA system he said, "Jackson, Mina, get topside. There should be a two laser markers up there. Use them to mark the ships, the Pneumatic Cannon should do the rest."
Khan then typed a few more commands into the command prompt. He figured he would be needed downstairs, then again it could've been that part of him didn't want to get wet. Who knows.
Topside, on the deck of the Gray Manta, two giant air cannons revealed themselves. Each cannon operated interdependently of one another and were controlled by the security desk downstairs, but due to the poor visibility caused by the storm, the laser markers would be needed to help it make more accurate shots.

Jackson Vakarian Goldenrod City Gym LeaderWater-Type"It never rains, but it pours." Jackson was quick to release Tumbler out on the deck, immediately indicating the oncoming Blastoise in the water. "Take down as many as you can manage, then get back here. OK?" It was a sign of their bond that she didn't question him, only leaped over the side of the hydrofoil and thundered through the water towards the other Shellfish. In the time it took to see her off, though, more Hydro Cannons had been launched, and Jackson had to duck to avoid a veritable pillar of spray going off right next to the boat. He quickly made his way over to the laser marker, Spike coming across to stand at his side and mark targets. "GolGolDuck [I should point out that the odds of navigating a blockade like this are 3,710 to 1.]" Jackson pulled back the primer on the laser marker, gritting his teeth. "Never tell me the odds." [[ For John Barry! Skip past the first 30 seconds if you like. :3]]

“ Isn't battling trainers why we became frontier brains? ” “ No, battling pokemon is why we became frontier brains. Battling trainers is what makes us miserable. ”
The Gray Manta shot over the water as hydro cannons blasts pulverized its outer hull. The ship was made from military grade titanium alloy reinforced with an experimental mental only known as X22 to the world. Every few seconds, a beeping sound could be heard before the Pneumatic Cannons fired. While the air blasts were invisible to the naked eye, one could track their trajectory if they looked for the telltale signs of water being parted. The Gray Manta continued to exchange fire with the two, three, now four patrol boats. Each successive blast would rock the Gray Manta, but her design allowed her to just stay ahead of her pursuers. "Hans's is the BPS ready?" The smuggler gave a thumbs up to Khan, flipping a few switches before pressing the large ominously glowing button labeled "Ballast Propulsion System". Basically, what happened was that the ship would start to take up water in its ballast tanks, pressurize it, and shoot it out through special nozzles located on the aft of the ship. The propulsion provided by this system could, at most, bring the ship up to 120% of its top speed. "I hope you know what you're doing..." Khan whispered to Hans.
"Yeah, me too." The smuggler replied before slamming his finger against the button.
"Everyone, please report back below deck. We have activated the BPS. Unless you want to be swept off of your feet into the ocean, getting back under is highly recommended."
"I sure hope this thing works. I installed it after I got her from you."
"Do you mean to tell me that this thing might not work?"
"Er...no."
"God damnit, Hans."

Jackson Vakarian Goldenrod City Gym LeaderWater-Type"It never rains, but it pours." Jackson unfortunately didn't have enough time to pick Tumbler out from the shapes bashing at each other in the open water, and could only slam the laser marker into standby, satisfied that he'd done at least something to get them past the patrol boats - more than could be said of Mina, that much was for certain. He just had to hope his starter would make his way back to him once they reached dry land - if they reached dry land, he thought darkly to himself as he practically threw himself below decks, securing himself against the nearest thing nailed to the walls.

"If he told you to go jump off a bridge and die, would you?" "Mmmm, probably... yeah." ||== Mina wasn't much help in the commotion between the patrol boats and their own ship. She had gone to help Jackson, but the cannons didn't seem to be doing much good. She would've set some of her pokemon after the patrols, but didn't want to cause more trouble in case they didn't get away. Besides, Khan was probably working on their problem from belowdeck. Even though it worked automatically, it was more difficult for Mina to manually assist in operating the cannon (being in possession of a rather frail body.) Jackson much more easily handled the turret. Fortunately, it was soon that Khan recalled Jackson and Mina. As soon as they got the message, Mina and Freyr both hurried inside again. As they waited, Mina held on tight to the boat, and returned Freyr. She nonchalantly played with her Charon's (her Gyarados') pokeball in her free hand, in case she needed a Water-type pokemon to assist her.

“ Isn't battling trainers why we became frontier brains? ” “ No, battling pokemon is why we became frontier brains. Battling trainers is what makes us miserable. ”
The hydrofoil shot over the water's surface, quickly outrunning it's pursuers. Khan high-fived Hans as they did. It was an exhilarating feeling really. The Gray Manta was going so quickly that even the small whirlpools that were near the islands coasts couldn't stop them. The small water craft would simply skip over the top of them. However, their trip towards the coast was quickly interrupted by a large bump, the sound of shredding metal, and the sudden beeping of emergency systems. "Hans what the hell is going on?" The smuggler at first didn't have any answer, all he could do was scramble around from monitor to monitor, looking for where the damage was. As he did, the hydrofoil continued its course albeit it wasn't as smooth as it was before. Within seconds, the Gray Manta had beached herself on the shores of one of the Sevii Islands "Hans..." Khan growled.
"Okay, okay I think I figured out what happened. We hit a Corsola reef. While they didn't shred the hydrofoils, they did manage to put some nasty scratches on The Gray Manta and caused us to spin out of control till we hit these shores. A few of the primary systems are damaged, and I won't be able to take us back till they're fixed..." The smuggler noted grimly.
"God Damnit."
"Do you know how you used to say I was cocky?"
"Yeah."
"Well, you said you wanted to be around when I made a mistake, well, this could be it, man. "
"I take it back."

Jackson Vakarian Goldenrod City Gym LeaderWater-Type"It never rains, but it pours." It was lucky Jackson had taken Khan's warning seriously - he didn't doubt that if he hadn't been hanging on for dear life, he would've gone flying into something sharp and heavy. As it was, he contented himself with feeling his tendons straining to keep him put - a strain that turned out to be completely fruitless once the Gray Manta hit the Corsola reef and beached herself. The Gym Leader was thrown to the floor, only his arm shooting out to brace him against the floor stopping him from surely knocking himself unconsciouis. Cursing under his breath, he headed back above deck - he wanted to know what the hell had happened. "Tell me we just stopped here for some sightseeing."
