Imbolc was yesterday. I was wondering what people have to say about this holiday.
I personally did not perform any rite or ritual as I feel that it is too soon in the winter in Maine to welcome the coming of spring. When I can see buds on the trees for leaves then I will celebrate the coming of spring.

While the rest of the US is freezing, we've been chilly but clear- so it's starting to feel a little like spring. We had an impromptu feast and blessed candles.

I gave an offering of eggs to the Serpent of the Land and beat the ground a bit. Then I went on a walk to see what life was coming forth. Except for the birds and a few winter berries, not much. As usual on my walks I sang a bit of a song.
The trumpets are resounding, The drums are beating widely, Awake, O Land, Awake, Awake, O Land, in time.
Awake, awake, O Land. Awake, awake O Land Beneath my feet, Awake, awake O Land, Awake, awake in time.
And so on and so forth.
And it was nice and cloudy yesterday, and cloudy today so I am hoping for a short winter!

I couldn't do anything really as it was a big storm out there. Though I would like to do something. I do feel that the land spirits could use some cheer and refreshments.

It's not one of my holidays, I'm afraid, but just for the sake of conversation I'll join in. Over here it's still the same dark, cold, snowy winter that it was three weeks ago when I celebrated Midwinter. Spring is coming, sure, but it's not close enough for me to get happy yet. I'll give it a month or two more.

Looks like today's the accurate date for Lammas for me. I'll celebrate Frefaxi a bit later, when I feel it a little more. Maybe tomorrow, even.

With more snow coming on Tuesday I think I will do a ritual tomorrow after school. I feel that Frau Holle and her elves need merriment and honor at this time as there is no agriculture. While it is her blankets that create the snow, she is also the spring Maiden.
