Not that I'm really into discussing the weather. . . but why not.
Personally, I think everyone's being total babies about it. It freakin' snows in winter people. Get a grip. I blame the Weather Channel for all the hysteria.

It's not that cold it gets like minus twenty here (sorry I use Celsius so my Fahrenheit might be off) I like the snow but around here it's just ice. emo

We didn't get called off school till at least -20 when I was your age. And, if you meant 10 inches, that's a joke. Even after we got 18 inches here I still had to drive to work. And it's not that bad a drive if you don't drive like an idiot. Doctor Manny It's not that cold it gets like minus twenty here (sorry I use Celsius so my Fahrenheit might be off) I like the snow but around here it's just ice. emo -20 C is -4 F. It routinely gets that cold in MI in the winter. School got called off one time when I was a kid because the temp hit -20 F. That would be -28 C.

I like snow when it gets me two days off school.
We don't get many snow days. Usually 1 or 2 a year.
School closes when the buses won't start, or the buses can't get on the roads. That's what our district goes by, anyways. >.>"

Hint: we got soft.

I used to wrestle all the time in middle school. We played dogde ball and chicken like every day. Though we had recess, and it was k-8, not normal middle school. (That was like, 3-4 years ago. I guess things have changed?)

We weren't allowed to have the snowball fights, but if we organized tackle football ourselves we could play (gym was flag football). We were allowed to play dodgeball in elementary school, they just stopped doing it later on to focus on more major sports. We had wrestling in high school. They didn't care about the bloody lips and noses, but they were concerned that the matches were taking too long. I'm still waiting for them to ban high school swimming class over concerns about drowning.

I know people wouldn't learn If you don't let the figure it out, let the kids fight at least then they learn to protect themselves.

The other thing schools panic about is administering medical attention. They want all kinds of releases signed just to do the most basic of things, like send you to a hospital if you get hurt. Most schools I know of won't even give you an aspirin if you have a headache. For schools, they've turned into big liability avoidance machines.
