Hello all!
So, the piece-of-crap hair straightener I've had since I was 13 finally croaked, so I'm thrilled to finally get a new one! My late hair straightener was a $25 Conair straightener that took about 5 tries on one lock of hair to get it to be slightly straighter.
So, I decided to ask you guys what straighteners you would recommend. My hair type is thick, soft, and dark, if that helps. It's also kinda short.
Thanks a lot!

I don't straighten my hair as often as I used to, but mine is a Studio35 straightener, I think I got it for 79$ at Walgreens.
Its a pretty good straightener, although the design is more of a rectangle shape, so if you wanted to make curls with it they wouldn't really work out (that, and it's a straightener... not a curler.. heehee :3) It's got heat settings from 275-400
I wonder what everyone else uses :0!

Do you use straightening products as well? They make all the difference in the world for me: without them I can't even get my t3 straightener to work right (not that I straighten my hair often: I like it curly).

I use Paul Mitchell ProTools straightener, the Ion Smooth one I think it works really well. I have really thick hair that wont straighten very well, and this straightener can make it superr straight biggrin Plus it leaves your hair looking really smooth 3nodding I got mine off of ebay for around $100

I use a Chi flatiron I use to use a really cheap one and when I switched I noticed a world of a difference. It makes it really straight and shinny also you can curl with it really easily. I also have thick (really really really thick) hair, dark and short. I used it to curl my hair for prom 3nodding I got mine from the jc penneys salon with a 25$ coupon. Normally they are like 90 something I got it for like 60 with the coupon and my discount (I used to work there) So without the discount I guess it would be around 70 something. I would also like to try a paul mitchell one at the visible changes where I get my hair done that is the flat iron they use and it works crazy good. Idk how much it cost tho because i have never priced it.

I use a Remington, I think it's called Richard Marin Professional.
It's one inch and round on the top and bottom so curling is pretty easy.
You can set the heat (on an led screen) and it blinks until it reaches the temp you want and stays solid. Automatic shut off after an hour or so, which is what my forgetful butt needs.
It's been through a lot of moving and several trips and plenty of drops and hasn't let me down yet.
It was about 40-60 dollars and I don't remember if I got it at WalMart or Target.
I'm so tempted to get one of those "wet-to-straight" flat irons. That would take out a million hours of time in the morning hahaha.

I use my Jibere porcelain flat iron. You can get it from Sally's.
It works amazing. Gets hot real quick and does well with straightening my hair.
