First off, there have been no major news concerning the new album. Sony is being sold, which has ben a key event that has stopped Ev from recording. News-wise, they are still writing according to Will Hunt

And anotherPersonally, i do not find it Ev's fault that the album has been pushed back. It is not their fault that Sony (the head of their publishing company) is being sold. As stated, they are writing, and i believe that is all they can currently do.
And yes, i believe the album will be published eventually. It may be 2012 or later (i highly doubt it will be released this year). It may be out this year, but personally i doubt it.
But if you think about it, this excess time only allows Ev to work on more songs which will be better. ;D
Rumor flies for a 16-track album.
