A shriek escaped the mouth of a child ,hiding between some boulders, as he saw his own blood. The shriek carried through out the valley and was answered with a low growl. He knew he was found. He tried to burrow deeper into the ground, but his fingers hurt too much and his fingernails were cracked and bleeding. His hands were numb, and his legs ached. He was running from the creature for hours, and thought the rocks would offer protection and security. It now knew where he was, and was coming. He heard tree and tree being pushed down, then ground shook with every step. The creature stood as tall as a tree, with long claws, and no eyes. It was grey and black, and looked like a giant blob will legs and arms. The claws dripped with blood. It opened it's jaws to let out another growl, it's fangs were huge and the tips were stained red. The eyeless creature advanced towards the boy's hiding place. The boy shivered, and tried to keep from screaming. He began to feel squished, the free space of the small area was vanishing. The creature was pushing in the rock, hoping to smash the boy. It let out small, low growls. The boy tried to stay silent, and slowly crawl out from the rocks before it was too late. He finally escaped out from the rocks, and found a stick. The creature noticed him and began to slowly move closer and closer. The boy held the stick firmly in his hand, but his feet were shaking. He shouted at himself to move, but his legs kept shaking. He then took a small step, then another, then the steps began to become easier. He was now racing at the creature, the formless face looked down at him. It's mouth was wide open, and it's many fangs dripped with saliva. The boy leaped at it, and lunged the stick into it. It roared and backed up, and the boy fell back. He looked at the stick, it wasn't damage, and no blood was on the stick, but the creature was spilling blood. He saw there was an arrow in it now, the arrow was spinning still, as if it was trying to drill through it. It roared as the arrow penetrated deeper and deeper into it. The boy heard footsteps behind him and looked to see a girl in her twenties. She had long brown hair and wore leather armor. The armor's color and design was strange. It was various colors, all in a swirl that looked almost as if it was moving. Her eyes were focused on the boy. In her hand was a long bow, and in the other, an arrow was slowly manifested. Wind swirled around her hand and slowly began to harden into the shaft, then the tip sharpened. She placed it on the bow and pulled back. This time she aimed at the creature's head. She released the arrow, and the boy couldn't even keep track of it as it flew through the air. Before he could turn his head, he heard a loud roar from the creature. He looked to see the arrow drilling through it's head. The creature shook and spun, trying to remove the arrow. The ground was covered in puddles of pitch black blood from the creature. It began to slowly down and eventually fell over. The boy was still sitting on the ground when the girl offered him her hand. She helped him up, but he couldn't take his eyes off the creature. Though it fell over, it was still breathing. "Hello there, are you alright?" Asked the girl. "I think so..." Mumbled the boy, he tried to ignore his bleeding hands. She looked at him with an odd look on her face. "So what about your hands?" "They'll heal." Said the boy as he tucked his bloody hands into his pockets. He looked down. "Thank you." "No problem. After all, I'm the hero of justice!" Said the girl, as she placed her hands on their sides and let out an annoying laugh. "Umm, okay." Said the boy, he began to feel a little weird about being near her. "So what's your name?" Asked the girl. "Mine's Yuki." "I'm Korosu." Said the boy. Yuki grinned and placed her hand on his head. "So Korosu, where's your village? I'll escort you!" "I can find my way back-" "It's my duty to help you back to your village!" Interrupted Yuki. Korosu had an odd look on his face, then sighed. "Okay, my village is nearby. We just have to follow this trail." "Lead the way, Korosu! I'll protect you along the way!" "A-Alright." The two slowly walked down the path.Yuki examined the damaged trees. The creature behind them stopped breathing shortly after they passed it. The path was covered in twigs and huge footsteps marked the trail. The trees began to slowly grow smaller as they neared the village, and once they reached the village gates, it was mostly shrubs that surrounded it. The gate door was trashed, the gate itself was in poor condition as well. Inside the gate was a small village made up of about ten or fifteen houses. The houses were barely standing, and covered in moss. The ground was littered with broken steel, a woman ran out from her house to greet them. She hugged Korosu and went on about how much she missed him and how she was forever it debt to Yuki. Yuki shyly blushed and grinned. "My pleasure!" She scratched her head as she looked around the village. "Um, why is your village a dump?" She stopped and thought for a bit. "No offense." "It's because of those damned bandits." Said the woman, she refused to let go of Korosu. "They attack and attack, at first they came to the money and food, then it became a sport for them..." She trailed offed, and Yuki gripped her bow tightly. She let it become a shiny dust and blow away with the wind. "Where are they now?" "Oh, you don't have to help. You can't take them all on." "Oh yah?" She grinned, "I can defeat anything. A group of bandits would be but a small feat for the great hero of justice, Yuki!" Exclaimed Yuki, as she raised her fist in the air and took a pose. "If you insist..." The woman pointed down a path and warned her of every member. She told her about the weapons they carried and the strange ability one has. Yuki nodded and smiled to the sun. It was a cool day, and she walked down the path. "Ah! Why must life be like this!?" Exclaimed a man as he scrapped dog crap off his boot. He wore ragged clothing, and had black hair that almost went down to his eyes. He sighed and put his boot back on. He heard laughter in the distance and a scream. He ran towards the source of the noise. The trail was covered in twigs, so the people already knew he was coming. He stepped in front of the small camp. Several man lied around and a small group of people were cowering from them. The men laughed and poked at them with their weapons, they shouted to be let free and were on abused more. The other men looked at the man who stood at the camp entrance. "Hey idiots!" Exclaimed the man, which managed to catch all of their attention. "My name's Kyodo, and I'm wondering what your doing." One of the captured prisoners of the camp opened his mouth, but was pushed over before he could saw anything. "Just having a little fun." Said a man that sat in the middle of the camp. "I see." Kyodo stretched as he walked into their camp. A small tent was close-by and he kicked it. The wooden frame snapped and it fell over. All the men rose and picked up their weapons. "What the hell was that for?!" Exclaimed the men. "Because I don't agree with your idea of fun. Now you are all going to stop terrorizing that group over there, or I'm going to have to kill you." Said Kyodo with a slight shrug. "It's your choice." The man in the middle was shaking, he turned to one of his men. "Get Gieche." Said the man, the other nodded and ran off. "Calling for back-up? Does that mean you intend to die?" Asked Kyodo as he lifted the broken wooden frames with his feet. "Die? We intend to win!" Exclaimed the man, as he shouted an order to everyone. They all charged in and Kyodo grinned. "Looks like I get to have a little fun." One tossed a sickle at him, he caught it and threw it back. The blade pierced into the man's head. Another charged at him from behind with a mace. He swung the mace downward, but Kyodo caught it with one hand. He stepped back the grab the man's arm and flipped him into a tree. Another ran at him with a sword, but Kyodo caught the sword with the palms of his hands. He pulled the sword up, and heaved the man off the ground and into the air. Kyodo leaned back and kicked upward, he kicked the man far into the air, and he fell onto another man that carried a dagger. The big man in the center stood up, and wore bracers on his fists. "Well well, looks like it's my turn." He ran in, and Kyodo dodged the punch. Kyodo slid behind him and punched his back. The man almost fell over, but sprung back at Kyodo. Kyodo ducked and caught the man's arms. He began to squeeze them, then kicked the man back into a tree. He didn't move and Kyodo sighed. He looked over to the people that were trapped, and he went to help them, but was stopped by a small flame that erupted from the ground. Kyodo stepped back, and Gieche walked out from behind the trees. "She warned me about a wizard that traveled with the bandits, his name was Gieche..." Mumbled Yuki to herself. "Apparently he was a general for a kingdom, before he traded his status for money, and became scum. It's my duty as the hero of justice to stop him! No matter how strong he is!" More fire erupted from the ground at Kyodo, but he easily evaded. He dodged by ducking from one of the fires. He then noticed in front of him was Gieche. Geiche held out his hand, and shards of ice fired at Kyodo. There was a quick silver flash and the ice was destroyed. In front of Kyodo was a large sword, the silver energy swirled around Kyodo's fist as he stood up and grabbed the hilt of his sword. The silver energy went from his fist, down the hilt and swirled around the blade. Kyodo pulled his sword from the ground and pointed it at Gieche, who was too stunned to move. "H-How?" "I'm a sword master!" Said Kyodo with a laugh. "And I can create swords from anything, even from nothing." Gieche backed up, but before he could get away, Kyodo lunged his sword through Gieche's chest. Geiche let out a small sighed as he fell to the ground. Kyodo pulled the sword out from the carcass, and it turned into silver dust. He walked over to the people that were captured. "The great Kyodo is here to rescue you all. Come with me and let's get you to your village!" Exclaimed Kyodo, as he took a pose. "I'm the hero!" Yuki slowed down as she neared the camp and saw Kyodo standing there. "He must be one of the bandits...I have to attack!" She jumped through the gaps in the trees, and blue energy swirled around her and manifested into a bow. An arrow swirled in the air, and she launched it at Kyodo. Kyodo quickly ducked and saw Yuki standing in a tree. "Another bandit, eh?" Kyodo held out his hand, and his sword formed in his hand. He pointed it at Yuki. "Come on at me!" "Your taunting won't work, bandit!" Exclaimed Yuki, as she fired another arrow. Kyodo sliced through the arrow, but scratched his head. "Wait, what?" "I'm the hero of justice! I'll put an end to your evil ways!" Exclaimed Yuki, as she jumped at him with another arrow ready. She fired it and Kyodo barely dodged it. "Ha! I'm the hero! I'm rescuing these people!" Exclaimed Kyodo. "No, you dirty bandit! Your tricks won't work on me"! Yuki ran in at him and punched at him. He caught the punch with his spare head and gripped it tightly. Before they could do anything, an old man held a stick between them. "Stop this at once, this man is not a bandit, he saved us." Said the old man to Yuki. "And you, young man." He turned to Kyodo. "She was not traveling with the bandits, so she is not a bandit." The two were silent, then Yuki blushed when she realized Kyodo was still holding her hand. She slipped her hand out from his grip and turned away. "Fine, well, let's head to the village." "I'm leading the way." Said Kyodo. "What makes you think you can handle leading them?!" Exclaimed Yuki. "I rescued them! I should lead the way!" Shouted Kyodo back at her. "But a gentleman should let a lady go first! And I'm the hero of justice, I must lead the way!" "I am a gentleman!" Shouted Kyodo. "Whatever you say, sword man." Said Yuki. Kyodo sighed, "my name is Kyodo, not sword man." Yuki rolled her eyes and sighed as well. "Well, my name is Yuki." "I didn't ask." Mumbled Kyodo as he scratched his ear. "I was being polite!" The two argued as they competed for trying to lead the group back to the village. After a lot of yelling, they were finally back to the village. The captured villagers ran in and were greeted by the others. They all smiled and embraced each other. Kyodo and Yuki stopped their arguing, and smiled as they watched. "Well, you tried to help them, so I guess your not bad." Said Kyodo. "And you did rescue them, so your not too bad either..." Mumbled Yuki. Kyodo sighed and sat against the gate. "So do you live in this village?" Asked Kyodo. Yuki shrugged and sat beside him. "Nope, I was just wandering through." "Traveling then?" "Don't know, just exploring." Said Yuki. "I see, if you have no actual plans, your welcome to travel with me." Said Kyodo. "Me? Travel with you? A man and woman....No! You pervert!" Exclaimed Yuki, as she jumped up. "Pervert? I didn't do anything!" "Not yet, but you will probably try something if I did travel with you!" "I'm a gentleman! I would never do such a thing!" "Oh yah? I don't believe you, pervert Kyodo!" "I'm innocent, I tell you! I would never do anything!" "Hmph." Yuki crossed her arms and looked away. "I'll be on my way then, good bye pervert." "I'm not a-" He sighed. "Nevermind, see yah." She waved to him as she left the village, the villagers waved good bye to her. Kyodo rolled his eyes as he pushed himself up. He yawned, and scratched his head. He went down a different path. The sun was beginning to set.

A small group of men walked along the stone road of a city. The sun was gone and a crescent moon looked down upon them. It was the city of Shagaku, the once noble and prosperous city has fallen and became a home to the scum of the land. The group of men smiled at the destroyed homes and the small fires that were burning. People hid from the group, they cowered in any place they could. The group was amused by the attempt, and laughed. They were making their way to a half crumbled castle. The top half was gone, and the lower half was filled with cracks and holes. Once the group reached the remains, they slowly opened the door, and walked in with their heads down. "They fear us now." Said the man with a grin. At the far end of the room, there was a woman sitting in a golden throne. "Excellent, have you obtained anything valuable?" Asked the woman. She was in the shadows, and couldn't be seen well. "Jewels and money." Said another man. "So Caline, are we going to move to the next city? We've trashed this one up too much." The woman rose and walked out from the shadows. She had red hair and it rested on her shoulders. She wore black leather armor, and had two knives sheathed behind her. "Soon." Said the woman, now known as Caline. She grinned as she walked closer. "I want you to gather everyone we brought, and tell them to come to the castle. We still need to discuss what we should do with the king and queen." Caline snickered, "we can't keep them in that little dungeon down stairs for too long, can we?" Yuki stomped down the dirt road. "That pervert! Wanting to travel with me! Who knows what he would of done!" She stopped and began kicking a tree. "But now I have to travel alone again!" She sighed, and rubbed her head. "I guess I'll ask him about his offer next time we meet..." She looked into the sky and stared at the moon. "It's hard to aim my arrows in the dark...Would be nice to have some protection..." She started walking again and mumbled to herself. The farther she went down the road, the more burned and knocked over trees she saw. In the distance, she saw a destroyed wall. "Someone knocked down the wall to Shagaku?" She began to slow down and walked slowly. "Where's that Kyodo when you need him?" Kyodo yawned as he slowly walked down the dirt road. His head was bobbing and he had trouble keeping his eyes open. "I need to find an inn or something..." Mumbled Kyodo sleepily. "I think Shagaku is close by, let's see what I can find there..." He yawned and walked along the road. He noticed a lot of footprints on the ground. "Someone must be using this road a lot.." Mumbled Kyodo. He looked behind him then in front, and to the side. "These look kind of fresh, the person has to be close..." He yawned again and kept walking. He then saw a figure leaning against a tree in the distance. The figure was still and was in the shadow of the tree. "Hey!" Shouted Kyodo to the figure. "You know any good inns to stay at?" Asked Kyodo as he got closer. The figure turned out to be a man in his twenties. He wore a dark cloak, and had dark green hair that covered his eyes. He turned and stared at Kyodo blankly. "What are you doing here?" Asked the man after a few minutes. "Looking for an inn, so do you know any good ones?" "Are you with the Dengen clan?" Asked the man. "The what clan?" Kyodo scratched his head. "Never heard of them." "So your only a traveler?" "I guess." "I see." The man stretched. "I must get moving, good luck finding an inn." "Wait, are you heading to Shagaku?" Asked Kyodo. "To what's left of it." Said the man. "I'm here to kill the Dengen clan and restore peace to the city." "Wait what?!" Kyodo was more awake now. "Something happened in Shagaku?" "Yes, I was informed by Master that Shagaku was in need of assistance, so I'm heading there now." "Master?" "Yes." "..." Kyodo sighed. "Well, if I help, I'm bound to get a discount at an inn." Said Kyodo with a grin. "Mind if I come along?" The man stared at him again for several minutes. The man then shrugged, "if you want." "Alright! Let's go!" Kyodo's energy was back and he was ready to sprint. "So what's your name?" "Tandaku." Answered the man. "And you are?" "I'm the great Kyodo!" Exclaimed Kyodo. "Well then, Tandaku, let's get to the city and attack!" Tandaku nodded, and started running, and Kyodo followed. They ran down the dirt path, and eventually reached the destroyed walls. They carefully stepped over the rocks and concrete and made it inside the city. Tandaku stopped Kyodo from walking forward, and ordered him to stay low. They both sat and watched men in black leather armor walk down the road. They were all heading towards the castle in the center of the city. "They are going to the castle, that means..." Tandaku trailed off. "We must hurry, Kyodo, are you ready to fight them?" "Of course." Said Kyodo. "We may be up against an army, Master didn't send me any help, so it will be only us fighting them." "Sounds good to me, more of a challenge." Said Kyodo with a grin. His hand glowed silver and soon a large silver sword was in his hand. Tandaku watched it form, and seemed to say something to himself. So he's one of 'them'. Master will be pleased with the news. Tandaku jumped up and ran in. Kyodo followed and they attacked the small group. They quickly killed them without effort. Kyodo stabbed them and slashed them, while Tandaku fired a beam of green and blue at them, causing them to catch of fire, though the fire was made up of several colors, and burned faster. The fire also gave off more heat. Kyodo grinned and ran through the flames to the castle. Men surrounded the castle and charged in at him. The ground shook and rocky pillars grew rapidly from the ground and separated the army. Tandaku nodded to Kyodo as he charged in at one half, and Kyodo attacked the other. He easily sliced through them and the weapons seemed dull. He easily kicked through one of the shields of the men. He made it deeper and deeper into the crowd of enemies and reached a man with a giant hammer. He grinned and slammed it down at Kyodo. Kyodo rolled to the side, and slashed at him. The man managed to evade it and slammed his hammer at Kyodo. Kyodo blocked and his sword cracked. Some of the chips of steel went into his arm. He shook it off and ran back in. Tandaku gracefully moved his hands, men were engulfed in flames and some in ice. Spears of stone blasted from the ground into them. Another large man with an axe charged in at him. Tandaku rose a stone wall to block the axe, and then spikes quickly grew out from the stone wall, piercing through and kill the man. The others backed away from Tandaku as he made his way into the castle. "What's all this commotion?" Asked Yuki to herself when she walked down the empty streets of Shagaku. In front of her was what looked like a riot. She then noticed all the men were focusing on just killing one person. She watched the man swing his sword to block off a larger man and many others. "Is it..." She got closer. "Kyodo!?" She grinned and blue energy swirled around her to form a bow. An arrow manifested in the air. "Looks like I get to help me out." Kyodo pushed back men that ran at him while he tried to block all the rapid hammer attacks. He grabbed one man by his sword and tossed him at the larger man. The hammer smacked the man back at Kyodo, and he dodged. There were blades coming in at him from all sides. His arms began to glow. "Looks like I'll have to-" Suddenly the larger man fell over, an arrow was in his skull. "What?!" He turned around to see Yuki. "Hello pervert." Said Yuki with a grin.

Tandaku slowly walked in the castle and stood in front of Caline. "Hello, Master has sent me to kill you." Said Tandaku as he raised his hand. "Your master is an idiot then." Said Caline and she began to laugh. "Your going to need more then one person to kill me!" She punched Tandaku back then she unsheathed both her knives. She took a stance, and moved slowly towards Tandaku. He punched the ground, and stone spears launched out from the castle floor. She grinned and slashed through them. "Magic, eh?" She snickered. "Such a cowardly art will never hurt me." She slashed at him, but he evaded and struck the air with his palm. A blast of wind suddenly hit Caline and sent her flying across the room. She stabbed her knives into the wall when she hit it, and used them to stay on the wall. She looked down at Tandaku. "A move used only to post pone your death, you may want to some magic that will do some damage!" She launched herself off the way, and dived at him. He pushed down in the air, and she stopped in mid-air, then sent hurdling into the stone floor. She got up, and wiped some blood off her face. "Your going to say it was a cheap trick, aren't you?" Said Tandaku with a smirk. Caline gritted her teeth. "Come at me." Caline charged, but Tandaku evaded her knives and placed his hand on her back. Fire erupted from his hand and she screamed as she jumped away. She fell to the ground and rolled to put out of the fire. She looked angrily at Tandaku. "Die!" She ran back to a chest beside the thrown chair. She opened it up to reveal hundreds of knives. "Haha!" She laughed as she picked up knives and held them between each finger. She then tossed them at Tandaku. He rose both hands and fire came roaring out from the palms of his hands. The knives didn't melt and passed through. He ducked but one knife pierced his arm. She began to throw more and more, knives flew through the air towards him. He ran and jumped and ducked, anything he could think of to dodge them. One flew faster then the others towards his face and he couldn't dodge it. There was then a slight ringing noise, the sound of metal hitting metal. He opened his eyes to see the knife on the ground, and an arrow beside it. Yuki and Kyodo stood at the castle entrance with their weapons ready. Yuki held out her hand and another arrow began to form in the air, then landed in her hand. Another with that ability? Yuki now aimed her arrow at the shocked Caline. Caline stood and tried to back away, but she now stood against a stone wall. Yuki fired arrow after arrow, and Caline blocked whichever ones she could. Kyodo dashed in, and lunged his sword at her. She jumped to the side, and Kyodo's sword pierced through the stone wall like butter, and he pulled it out quickly and continued trying to stab her. Caline blocked with her knives, and grinned. "Reinforcements aren't going to-" An arrow fired and pierced through her arm. The arrow pierced her arm to the wall, and she lost feeling in her arm. Another arrow went through her leg, then the other leg. Then her other arm was hit. She was pinned to the wall, she screamed out in pain as blood poured from the wounds. Kyodo was shocked by Yuki's accuracy. "Damn you! Damn you all!" Shouted Caline. She cursed them again, then her eyelids grew heavy and she lost consciousness. Kyodo turned to Tandaku, who was walking towards Caline. "Do we kill her?" Asked Kyodo, as his sword turned to silver dust. Yuki's bow turned into blue dust and blew away. The arrows didn't disappear. "Leave that to me." Said Tandaku. He turned to Kyodo and Yuki. "Thank you for what you have done." "No problem!" Said Kyodo. "It was for justice!" Exclaimed Yuki. "So can we find an inn?" Asked Kyodo. "What do you think?" Asked Yuki in an annoyed tone. "The town is destroyed, there probably isn't a single standing inn." "Eh?!" Kyodo sighed, "then I guess I'll look for one somewhere else." He yawned."See yah around, Yuki and Tandaku." He turned around but Yuki grabbed the back of his shirt to stop him. "Wait, Kyodo..." Yuki looked away, trying to keep from getting red. "Hm?" Kyodo turned around. "That offer...Remember when you offered to let me travel with you?" "Yep, so you changed your mind?" Asked Kyodo. "Yes..." "Then welcome aboard!" Exclaimed Kyodo as he placed his hand on her shoulder. "Don't touch me your perv!" Shouted Yuki as she stepped back. "Eh?" "I'm only traveling with you for some protection and someone to talk to! Nothing more!" "Alright?" "Good, since you understand, let's get going." The two waved to Tandaku as they left the castle. "Master is going to be pleased..." Said Tandaku with a grin. "I've stopped the spread of her evil and found something more..." Tandaku sighed as he left the body on the wall, and walked over to an odd looking wall. "This looks fake.." Mumbled Tandaku. He pushed it, and it appeared to be a door. It opened inward to reveal the king and queen tied up in a dark room. They both looked at Tandaku, and tried to move. Their mouths were covered. "Hello, your majesty and highness." Said Tandaku as he walked in and untied them. "Thank you, young man!" Exclaimed the queen. She had long golden hair and looked to be in her thirties. She wore a dirty white dress. "We are in your debt." Said the king. He had a short beard and short brown hair. He wore a tattered royal cloak. He looked to be the same age as the queen. "I have come here to rescue you in the name of my Master, Lord Shussan." Said Tandaku. "Ah, he was smart to of sent you then." Said the king. "Tell him we prepare to repay him for his kindness once we fix up our city." "I'll tell him." Said Tandaku. "I'll be taking her then." Tandaku looked over to Caline. "Yes." "She was a high ranking member of the Dengen clan, so prepare for another conflict in the future. They won't let this go too easily." Said Tandaku. "Lord Shussan said he will send several guards to help defend you from attack." "We are grateful." Said the king. "Then I must be off, take care of yourselves." Said Tandaku as he walked over to Caline. He removed the arrows, and she twitched in pain. She fell over and he caught her. He held the bloody body and soon a dark green and blue energy came up from the ground and surrounded him and her. The energy closed in on itself, and they were gone.

Tandaku appeared outside a kingdom with a burst of light. He still held Caline as he walked down the stone path into the wide castle. Inside the castle was knights and mages of all ages. They talked and walked alongside each other. The walls were a thick stone. Gold and black tapestry hung on the walls. One of the tapestry, there was a small emblem. The emblem showed a sword stabbing a fire. The fire was black and the sword golden. He was greeted by several guards, and he made his way upstairs. The stairs spiraled up the seemingly endless tower. He finally reached the top and walked to the large metal doors. The hall at the top of the castle was different then the other floors. The walls and floor was completely black, golden swords and shields hung on the walls. They let off a light glow of gold. Tandaku knocked on the door with his free hand. "Who is it?" Asked a voice from behind the door. It was bold and loud, the booming sound of the voice even startled Tandaku. "It's me, Tandaku. I have retrieved the girl, and I have something interesting to report." Said Tandaku. "Excellent, you may enter." Tandaku pushed the doors open and walked into the room. It was brightly lit by white fires all along the walls. A man sat on the floor at the end of the room, he grinned at Tandaku when he entered. The man had dark green hair that barely reached his eyes. He wore a light steel set of armor. "Master Shussan, what happened to the chair?" The man, known as Shussan, laughed. "It broke again." "How?" Asked Tandaku in an annoyed tone. "...Who knows." Said Shussan with a grin as he stood up. "So this is the one causing Shagaku so much trouble?" "Yes." "You may transfer her to the dungeon." Said Shussan. Tandaku nodded, and then Caline's image began to flicker and soon she was gone. "So, you said you had something interesting to tell me?" "Yes, while on my way to Caline, I met a man by the name of Kyodo, and he had ability to summon swords." Said Tandaku. Shussan's grin disappeared. "I also met a woman who could create arrows from thin air, I believe her name was Yuki." "Do you know where they are now?" Asked Shussan. "No, they left before I could ask." He scratched his head, "so we count them as allies or enemies?" "You will see them as nothing more then pests. Ignore them and do not attempt to help." Shussan sighed, "though their powers were given to them by our enemies, they themselves are not. So don't go out of your way to attack them either." "Understood." "And how has the hunt been?" Asked Shussan. "I don't know, Yari is still looking for it." Said Tandaku. "The creature was reported to be huge, and somewhat like a giant moving blob with limbs. How can she not see it?" "Master Shussan, you know she doesn't always listen to well. She may be looking for something else." Shussan's eye twitched. "She's an idiot...but I'll put my faith in her. Allow her to search as long as she needs." "Alright." "Well, your dismissed Tandaku. I'll assign you another mission in a few days. Enjoy yourself." "I will." Then Tandaku left and Shussan sat back down. Shussan looked around the room and scratched his head. "...I miss my chair." The sun was beginning to rise, and neither Yuki nor Kyodo got any sleep. "You know you could of slept, I'm willing to carry you." Said Kyodo as he scratched his head and looked away. "I can't sleep knowing a pervert is awake." Said Yuki. "...Too tired to argue..." Mumbled Kyodo. "So do you know where we are going?" Asked Yuki. "Nope, just looking for the next town..." A girl, looking to be in her twenties, hopped from tree to tree, she kept looking around. She had long light blue hair and wore loose purple clothing. A sheathed katana hung on her back, the scabbard was completely black and the hilt was blue. "Master told me to find the giant blob like creature, but I don't see it anywhere!" Exclaimed the girl. She stopped on one of the trees when she spotted Kyodo and Yuki. "Maybe they know..."

The girl jumped down from the trees at Kyodo and Yuki. "Eh?" Kyodo quickly created a sword, and Yuki's bow already had a glowing arrow in it. She aimed at the mysterious girl as she landed. Kyodo pointed the tip of his blade towards her. "Who are you?" The girl snickered and sighed. They can create weapons like that? That must mean... "Put your weapons away, I only came to talk." Kyodo and Yuki looked at each other and nodded. Their weapons faded away and the girl yawned. "I'm Yari, I've wondered if either of you saw a giant monster." "...A monster?" Asked Kyodo. "Was it like a giant blob?" Asked Yuki. "You saw it?" Yari smiled and got excited. "Yep, and I killed it too." Said Yuki with a shrug. "..." Yari was silent for a moment. "So it's gone...?" "Yah." "...What will I tell Master then!?" Exclaimed Yari. "Master?" Kyodo scratched his head. "Do you happen to know Tandaku?" "Tandaku? Of course I know him, he's Master's right hand man." Yari paused. "Wait, how do you know him?" "We helped him capture some girl in Shagaku." "Then your allies!" Exclaimed Yari. "I guess so?" "Good, then you and your lover can help me find something even better to bring back to Master." "If it involves finding a place to-" Kyodo paused. "We aren't lovers!" Shouted Kyodo and Yuki at once. "Oh, you usually don't see too many man and woman 'friends' traveling together." Said Yari. She felt killing intent coming from Yuki. "Umm, well, so you'll help?" Kyodo turned to Yuki, but Yuki looked away. "Yuki, think we should help?" "Sure, whatever!" Exclaimed Yuki. "I guess we'll help." Said Kyodo. "Excellent! Master was saying that he thinks the Dengen clan's base is around here. He's been hunting them and the gods for a long time." "The gods?" Yari covered her mouth. "Wasn't supposed to say that!" Exclaimed Yari. "Umm, I meant dogs! Dogs!" Shussan scratched his head in his throne room. "Why do I have the urge to hit Yari?" "Um, alright." Said Kyodo. "Lead the way. We're tired though, so don't expect us to be a full strength." "It's alright, us three should be enough." Yari began to walked ahead, and the two followed her. Yuki was silent the whole time. Why would she accuse me of being Kyodo's lover?! I would never love that pervert! Yuki stomped when she walked, and Kyodo felt a little scared around her. He increased his pace to walk beside Yari. "So your Master hates the Dengen clan?" Asked Kyodo. "Yes, he's been working on tracking them." "Why?" Asked Kyodo. "I know they aren't a very good clan, and they don't have the best motives, but it's not a big clan. It hardly seems worth it to try and track them." "Master didn't tell us why he hates them. He only told us they did something unforgivable." "Unforgivable?" "Mhm." Yari nodded, and sighed. "So what's your name?" Asked Yari. "Kyodo." Answered Kyodo. "And I'm Yari!" Said Yari. "...You already told me." "I did?" Yari scratched her head and seemed to be in deep thought. ...She's not that bright.... Shussan sat in his throne and his head began to bob. "So tired..." He lied down on the floor and let out a loud sigh. "I guess I could take a quick nap...As long as I don't have the same dream again."

The sun was slowly setting, but the fires blazed brightly to replace it. The screams of the murdered echoed through out the village and the forest. A boy, looking to be only ten years old, heard the screaming while he was playing in the woods. He realized where it was coming from, and rushed to the village. He carried a stick in his hand, and he jumped over the rocks and moss on the ground. He ran to the village gates, only to see them burned and destroyed. The village was destroyed, people in strange clothing walked among the village. Dead villagers littered the ground, some were still alive and being beat. The boy couldn't make his legs move. He wanted to run in to help his village, but it felt as if his legs were glued to the ground. His hand trembled, he was terrified. Then he saw someone he recognized, he saw his mom and sister being dragged out from their house. His father fought with a spear, but was quickly outnumbered. The boy's trembling stopped as he ran in. "Stop!" Exclaimed the boy as he charged at the group. He bashed the stick on the head of one of the people and they collapsed. He saw his dad pierce the spear through their chests. He turned his attention to helping his sister and mother. He ran at them, but was then kicked in the stomach. "Shussan!" Exclaimed the mother as the boy fell over. He held his stomach and looked up at a tall man with blood red hair. He wore a cloak and carried two swords on his back. He had a terrifying grin, and on his cloak was a symbol. The symbol showed he was the leader of the Dengen clan. "Trying to be a hero, kid?" Asked the man with a wicked laugh. He kicked the boy back again, who was Shussan. Shussan flew in the air and slammed against the rock walls of the home. "No!" The father ran through the group to the leader of the Dengen clan. He lunged his spear at him, but the leader's image vanished. He appeared behind the father. The father stood shocked, then fell over. The two swords were in his back. "Noo!!" Exclaimed the mother. The daughter couldn't speak, she couldn't see through her tears at what happened. Shussan looked up as the man ripped his swords out from his father's body. Shussan opened his mouth, but nothing came out. He was trembling, but he forced himself up. His stick was broken and lied on the ground a few feet away from him. He took one slow step at a time towards the man. "Master Banzo!" Shouted a Dengen clan member. "We have their goods, can we leave the women and children?" "Take them or kill them." Said the clan leader, now known as Banzo. "It's your choice." The member was quiet, and turned back to the others. "Kill them." "Stop it! Don't!" Exclaimed Shussan, his legs became faster and he charged at Banzo. "I won't let you!" He threw a punch at Banzo, but was blocked by the dull side of his blade. Shussan withdrew his bruised hand, and looked up at Banzo. "Your going to keep trying, kid?" Asked Banzo with a grin. "Your brave, so I'll give you a reward." Banzo kicked Shussan in the stomach again and he fell over. Banzo slammed his foot down on his chest. "I'll kill you quickly as a reward." Banzo began to dig his foot into his fest, and Shussan gritted his teeth. He saw his mother get stabbed. Tears rolled down his face. Do you want power? Banzo lifted his foot and drove it back into Shussan. Shussan let out a cry in pain. Do you want to kill them? The Dengen members began to close in on his sister. Do you want to save the remaining member of your family, boy? Through Shussan's cries in pain and tears, he shouted as loudly as he could, it made the Dengen members look over at Shussan. "Let me protect her! She's the only family I have left"! Exclaimed Shussan. Shussan then found himself in a strange glowing room. There was nothing in it except for several human figures' silhouettes that surrounded him. "So do you accept our powers?" Shussan wiped away his tears, and looked at them with angry eyes. "Yes!" "Very well, use our gift well, boy." Said one of the glowing figures. He grinned, and held out his hand. A glowing golden orb rested on his palm. "It is the orb of the gods. It will give you the power to seek." Said the man, his grin grew. Shussan walked forward and grabbed the orb. The Dengen clan members backed up. Banzo removed his foot as he took a few steps back. Shussan was glowing gold, he then stood up. The gold aura surrounding him dispersed and them went inside of him. The glow was gone and he stood there, he showed no emotion now, and he looked down. Then a golden sword flew from out of no where into one of the men's chest that surrounded his sister. Then arrows plunged into the hearts of the those. Shussan looked up at Banzo. "I will not forgive you..." Muttered Shussan. "Not for as long as I live!" His feet glowed gold and he appeared above Banzo. He held out his fist and arrows appeared in the arrow and swirled around his hand. He fired five at once at Banzo. Banzo's blades moved like a blur and destroyed the five arrows. He jumped back as Shussan landed. His emotion was back, and tears poured down his face. His eyes showed only pure hatred. He held out both hands, and golden swords formed in the air and fell into his hands. He disappeared then appeared behind Banzo. Banzo turned around quickly to block the two golden blades. Shussan grinned as he rose his foot and kicked Banzo in the stomach. Banzo flew back and crashed through a stone wall of a house. When the dust cleared, he already saw Shussan running at him. Banzo gritted his teeth and picked up his swords. He jumped at Shussan but was blocked by a rock wall that sprung up from the ground. The wall turned to dirt, only to reveal a blaze of fire rushing towards him. Banzo quickly ducked, and the roaring flames shot over him. Shussan stood above him and stabbed both his swords down. Banzo rolled to the side to evade it, and jumped up. He slashed his swords at Shussan, but Shussan blocked both. Shussan withdrew his blades then attacked. His swords sliced through one of Banzo's swords. Banzo took a step back, and dropped the broken sword. He kicked it while it fell and broken sharp edge of the blade flew at Shussan. It turned to ash when it got close to Shussan, and fell to the ground. Shussan walked towards Banzo, Banzo took a step back. Shussan jumped and lunged both swords at him. Banzo ducked and punched Shussan's chin. Shussan was pushed into the air. He held both swords tightly and pointed the blades downward as he fell back towards Banzo. Banzo stepped back, and Shussan's blades pierced the ground and were stuck. Banzo kicked the side of Shussan's head and he flew back. The sword disappeared in a gold dust. Shussan held a golden spear now and charged in. He lunged the spear forward, and a gust of wind followed. Banzo was pushed back, then Shussan pulled his hand back, and the wind pushed Banzo in. Shussan rose his spear into the air and slashed down with it. Banzo shouted in pain as the spear struck him. He felt it slice through his shoulder, cutting through his bones like nothing. Banzo fell to the ground and rolled. His left arm lied on the ground by Shussan's feet. Banzo held his sword in his remaining arm and pushed himself up. Blood poured out from his shoulder. He only grinned at Shussan. "It's been fun kid, but now I have to kill you!" Exclaimed Banzo as he image flickered. He appeared above Shussan, he slashed his blade downward in an attempt to slice Shussan's head in two. Shussan blocked and a gust of wind shot Banzo high into the air. As he fell, Shussan pulled back his spear and lunged it upward at Banzo. Banzo quickly pushed the tip of the spear away with his sword and landed on his side. Banzo screamed in pain as his arm socket hit the rocky ground and the pebbles stabbed into the open flesh and dirt rubbed into the wound. He got up and coughed up blood. "You bunch of cowards!" Shouted Banzo into the air. "Come out here and help-" Shussan was in front of Banzo and lunged his sword forward. Banzo evaded by leaning to the side. After a few moments, Dengen members come rushing out from the woods and behind the houses. They all carried weapons and attacked at Shussan all at once. Shussan evaded the blades and blocked others. Shussan rose his hand to face a group. Arrows then emerged from the palm of his hand and rushed into the group. The arrows drilled through their chests and heads as they fell over. The arrow flew out from their body. Shussan waved his arm to the side, and the arrows changed course and went through another group. Shussan stomped the ground and a ripple of earth hit another group. More and more rushed in, and Shussan was getting tired. He saw his terrified sister sitting down, watching it all. He gritted his teeth as he fought back at the Dengen members. He was showered in their blood, but he still fought. He then got slashed in the back. He almost fell over but regained his balance. He spun around to stab his sword through the stomach of the man that slashed him. The wound on his back was pouring out blood and Shussan was slowing down. He saw Banzo laughing at him from a distance. Shussan shouted something and stomped his foot on the ground. His swords disappeared, and the controlled arrows vanished. Gold dust swirled around Shussan. "I hate your laughing face!" Shouted Shussan. "I'm going to kill you all for what you've done!" Shussan was then surrounded by a golden sphere. The Dengen members backed up and began to ran. Shussan was surprised and felt the inside of the sphere. He couldn't get out. The sphere expanded and everything that got inside it instantly turned to ash. "No! Stop!" Exclaimed Shussan as he barraged the sphere with slashes. "Stop expanding! What if she gets hit!?" Shussan's face was covered with his tears as he now punched the sphere. The houses turned to ash, and the members turned to ash as they were hit too. Banzo vanished, he escaped. Shussan fell to his knees as he saw it expand towards his sister. "Stop! No!" He stared up to the dark sky. "Take the power back! Stop this!" Exclaimed Shussan. There was no response. It grew closer and closer to his sister. "Please! Stop!!!" Shussan then fell over, the power and strain was too much. He passed out with tears in his eyes. He then woke up early in the morning. He looked around at the piles of ash that surrounded him. Tears rushed down his face when he saw a pile of ash with a necklace in it. It was his sister's necklace. One said to be blessed by the gods themselves. It didn't save her. Only the amulet remained on her pile of ash. Shussan punched the ground, and the tears wouldn't stop. "Damn it Damn it!" He began to curse the Dengen and the gods. "They...They gave me a power they knew I couldn't handle!" Shouted Shussan through his tears. "It was a game to them! My family and this village, it was all a game to them!!!" Shussan shouted more curses as he punched the ground harder, and left a small crater from his punch. He held out his hand. Gold dust flowed from no where to form a sword. He pointed the tip at his chest. "I..." He stopped, and let the gold sword return back to dust. He stood up, "I must live on..." Said Shussan, as he wiped more tears from his face. "I must get revenge for them! I won't let this go..I won't let this happen again...I'll kill them...I'll kill those damned Dengens....I'll kill the damned gods!" Shouted Shussan to the sky. He still couldn't stop crying though. He walked over to the ashes of his sister, and picked up the amulet. "I won't let this go unpunished...I swear it....On my father, my mother, my sister...My village." He gripped the amulet tightly. "I swear to bring down the evil of this world, including Dengens and the gods...I'll stop all the killing. I'll create light!" Exclaimed Shussan to the sky. He placed the amulet around his neck slowly, and wiped the tears from his eyes again. He walked into the woods, leaving the ash of his friends and loved ones behind. "Master?" Asked Tandaku. He stood above Shussan, who was sleeping and snoring loudly. Shussan yawned and sat up. "Ma-" Tandaku stopped. He saw a lone tear slide down Shussan's cheek. Shussan wiped the tear and stood up. "What is it?" "Are you okay?" Asked Tandaku. "Yes, I'm fine, now what is it?" Asked Shussan. "Gisho is here with some news." Said Tandaku. Shussan sighed and sat on the ground. "Alright, send her in." Tandaku walked back to the door, he opened it. As he walked out, Gisho passed by him into the room. "Hello Master Shussan." "Hello." Replied Shussan. "Master Shussan, I found something remarkable." "And what would that be?" Asked Shussan with a yawn. "The Elemental Gems."

"Elemental Gems?" Shussan stretched and yawned. He closed his eyes and sighed. "That means the games begun." "The game?" Gisho scratched her head. She ran her fingers through her long, silver hair. "The game of the gods. They send down these gems to use, to increase our power, they want to see us kill each other over them." Said Shussan. "So where are they?" "They seem to be scattered but several are said to be held in Tochi." Said Gisho with a smirk. "So we should send some of our stronger members there right away." "What's the rush?" Asked Shussan. "We protect the peace, we can't raid an innocent city for them." Gisho grinned, "who said anything about taking them?" Shussan looked up at her with a confused expression. "Soon, the Dengen clan will hear about it. They will come in large numbers to take them. We could wait for them there and finally wipe them out." Shussan was silent, he stood up and stretched again. Gisho noticed a terrifying grin on Shussan's face. "Yes...I can finally avenge them." "You can?" "Of course." Shussan's grin turned more normal and he faced Gisho. "I'm going to Tochi on my own." "Are we there yet?" Asked Yuki as she followed Kyodo and Yari. "Soon." Said Yari. "You said that when I asked before too." Mumbled Kyodo. "Well, now it's sooner!" Shouted Yari. Kyodo scratched his head and slowed down to walk beside Yuki. "You think she's strong?" Asked Kyodo to Yuki with a low whisper. "I don't know, why do you ask?" "We are going to take on the Dengen clan. You know how powerful that girl was back in Shagaku." "Her name was Caline." Said Yari. "Looks like she heard you." Said Yuki with a grin. "Meh." The group continued on the trail, after another hour, they came to a stop. Kyodo and Yuki still didn't get any sleep, but their tiredness disappeared. They all crouched behind a bush, they watched a camp of almost a hundred people. They moved back and forth, caring creates to wagons. The Dengen crest was on the back of their clothing. "Master." Said a man, as he entered a small tent. He wore a hood that covered his face, and a black cloak. "What is it, Hoshin?" Asked a man sitting on a wooden chair in the tent. He had a grin on his face with a sword sheathed on his back. His left arm was gone, only his shoulder was there. His right arm was scarred, but still there. "The packing will be finished within a hour, then we can set out for Tochi." Said the man, now known as Hoshin. "Excellent." Said the man as he stood up from his wooden. "Only problem is that I detect something." Said the man. "Hm?" "Tell everyone to be on alert, we are being watched." Said the man with a grin. "Hopefully they will be fun to kill." "So can we attack?" Asked Kyodo. "Shhh!" Replied Yari. "We have to wait." "For what?" Asked Yuki, the bow and arrows were already in her hands. "...I don't know, but it just doesn't seem good to strike." "Well, now is a good as time as ever." Said Kyodo. Silver dust swirled around the air to form a large sword. He caught it in his hand and grinned. "Shall we?" "We should wait!" Exclaimed Yari. "I don't see anyone who looks to be a leader." Said Yuki. "Don't ignore me!" Exclaimed Yari, this time she lost control of her voice and shouted it. Everyone in the camp looked at them. Yari's eye twitched. "This is your fault." Said Yari, as she backed up. The clan members dropped their things and ran at them with swords and hammers. Kyodo jumped from the bush and lunged his sword through one of the hammers and into the skull of a clan member. He fell over dead and Kyodo jumped at another. Yuki ran from the push and fired arrows rapidly into the crowd. The man and Hoshin heard the noise. "Looks like they showed themselves. Guess they aren't cowards." Said the man. Shussan walked out from the kingdom. The outside of the kingdom looked old, and the entire kingdom was in a huge forest. Trees towered over the huge kingdom. Shussan look a few steps, then his image vanished. Gisho watched from a window. "So reckless, but that's what I like about our leader." Shussan reappeared on a dirt trail. "Damn, could only make it to Shagaku from there. Far, but not exactly far enough." Said Shussan with a sigh. "My feet hurt..." He looked around, he heard the sound of blades clashing in the distance. "Now what's going on over there?" Yari had her katana drawn and ready. She sliced through several people that ran at her. Kyodo spotted a tent, and ran for it. He had his sword high, but then Hoshin appeared from the tent and kicked him back. Kyodo flew in the air for several seconds before he hit the ground. Hoshin ran at him and punched towards him. Kyodo rolled to the side and the Hoshin's fist struck the ground. The ground shook and a small crack was left. Kyodo grinned. "Strong, but not as strong as Yuki or me." Said Kyodo. The clan members were falling fast, Yuki spotted Kyodo and Hoshin. Hoshin now had metal bracers and swung punches at Kyodo. Kyodo was dodging them, but he looked to be growing tired. Yuki felt tired too, but she refused to stop. She saw Yari slice through the enemies easily. "I guess I can leave the rest to her, I think Kyodo needs my help." Yuki fired arrows at Hoshin, but he punched the arrows and they fell to the ground. Hoshin ducked as Kyodo swung his sword at him. Hoshin slammed his elbow into Kyodo, Kyodo took a step back. Yuki ran in and fired more arrows. Hoshin blocked the arrows and ran at Yuki. Yuki dodged a punch, but was being pushed back. Kyodo regained his balance and ran to help Yuki. Hoshin turned around and kicked at Kyodo. Kyodo grabbed his foot and tossed him to the side. Yuki and Kyodo charged at him, but he was already back up. This time he charged at Yari, her back was turned as she fought off other clan members. Kyodo clenched his fists as his arm began to glow. She heard footsteps and looked to see Hoshin in front of her and his fists pulled back to attack. She flinched, but the punch didn't hit her. Before he could punch her, a sword fell from the sky, silver dust swirled around it as it stabbed into the ground and he punched the sword instead. Kyodo ran and kicked Hoshin in the side. He took a step back and Yuki fired an arrow into his leg. Yari blushed and looked away "Thanks, idiot." "Idiot?!" Exclaimed Kyodo. "Yes, idiot! It's your fault we started fighting early, you couldn't be patient!" "If we were patient, we might of ran into their leader!" "So? It's still your fault." Mumbled Yari. "You two done yet?" Asked Yuki with a bored tone. Yari and Kyodo looked to see Hoshin on the ground with several arrows in his back. "He was pretty easy without you being in the way, Kyodo." Said Yuki with a grin. "Why is everyone blaming me?!" Yari giggled as she sliced through the last enemy. "Because it's fun, and it is your fault that all this happened." "It's not my fault! Your the one who shouted!" Kyodo and Yari returned to their arguing, and Yuki sighed. She heard something and looked over to the tent. A man with one arm emerged out from the flaps. "Oh, it seems everyone got themselves killed." Said the man with a shrug. "That's too bad." Kyodo and Yari stopped their arguing when he appeared. Everyone was silent, but Yari was shaking. "A-A man with one arm." Said Yari. "The one sword sheathed on his back...." Yari gripped her katana tightly. "It's him, the leader of the Dengen clan, Banzo." "So you know who I am? That's great." Said Banzo with a laugh. "Looks like I get to skip the introductions." He then appeared in front of Yuki and kicked her back. Kyodo ran in and slashed at Banzo. Banzo stepped to the side and kicked the flat side of the sword and it flew out from Kyodo's hand and it landed somewhere deep in the woods. Kyodo tried to create another, but was punched before he could. He was punched in the stomach and fell to his knees. Banzo grinned as he kicked the speechless Kyodo into a tree, he landed beside Yuki. Her head was bleeding, and Kyodo soon passed out. "What? Out already?" Exclaimed Banzo with a laugh. "Guess I should of expected that, no one has enough energy to fight the entire clan, no one has that much stamina." He grinned as he walked towards Yari. "So your the last one?" Yari took a step back. She remembered when Shussan told the kingdom and all it's members about him. About his power. He could disappear and reappear as he pleases and has incredible power. She held her katana with both hands and tried to stop shaking. "And the last one's a coward. How pathetic." Said Banzo, but then his grin grew. "But I've always liked the screams of a coward more anyway." Yari took another step back. Banzo began to laugh as he walked closer towards her, and she would take another step. "Come on, don't be afraid." Said Banzo. "I only have one arm, you have the advantage!" Shouted Banzo. "Haha, come on and attack!" A huge gash suddenly appeared on Banzo. He took a step back, blood dripped from his chest. Yari and Banzo were both shocked. A man in the sky grinned down at Banzo. He landed in front of him, and Banzo appeared even more shocked. "Remember me?" Asked Shussan.

Banzo jumped back. He held where his arm used to be, it was now covered in bandages. The look in Shussan's eyes brought the memories flooding back into Banzo's mind. "Your that brat." Said Banzo as he stood more upright. He looked a little more calm now. "Looks like I get my revenge today." Said Shussan. "Revenge? Ha! You blame their deaths on me?" Asked Banzo with a wicked grin on his face. "It was your fault, you killed them!" Exclaimed Banzo with a terrifying laugh. "You were too weak! You couldn't save your parents, and your murdered your own-" Banzo was punched in the face by Shussan. Banzo flew back into a tree, he saw Shussan filled with anger. Shussan took a step forward, everything around them turned to ash. Trees were uprooted from the ground and swirled around the air by powerful winds. The earth trembled violently, icy footsteps were left behind with each step Shussan took. He suddenly appeared in front of Banzo and picked him up by the neck. Shussan stared in Banzo's eyes for a few seconds. "You will never mention that again." Said Shussan, then a small grin grew on his face. "In matter of fact, you'll never be mentioning anything again." Said Shussan, as his grip tightened on Banzo's neck. Banzo grabbed Shussan's arm and tried to squeeze it. Banzo then did a powerful kick to Shussan's stomach. His grip lightened, and Banzo escaped the grip. Shussan still grinned and rubbed his stomach. "Is that all?" Banzo unsheathed his sword and ran towards Shussan. Shussan grabbed the blade with his bare hand, and crushed it. The metal and steel shards fell to the ground. Shussan drew back his fist and punched Banzo again. Banzo flew back and crashed into the ground. He skidded across the rocky terrain, cuts and gashes appeared all over his body. He tried to push himself up, but Shussan was already above him and kicked down on his back. Banzo shouted in pain, and Shussan kicked him off the ground into a tree. Banzo was covered in blood as he watched Shussan get closer and closer. Banzo's grin was gone, it was replaced by a look of complete fear. Yari watched in amazement, he realized Shussan was doing all this with little easy. She then remembered Kyodo and Yuki, and ran to their limb bodies. They lied under the tree, their were bleeding and their breathing was loud and slow. Shussan rose his hand, and a ball of pure darkness began to form in the palm of his hand. "Looks like this is it." A little girl watched all this from behind a tree. She had tears streaming from her eyes, she looked to be only ten. She let out a cry and ran forward. Shussan watched her run as fast as she could to get in front of Banzo. "Stop!" Exclaimed the girl, her legs were shaking. "Move." Said Shussan. "This man is nothing but evil. Hatred in a human form. He must be punished." "Please!" Shouted the girl as more tears streamed down from her face. "Daddy isn't bad! Don't hurt him! He's the only family I have left"! Exclaimed the girl. Shussan froze for a minute. He remembered himself trying to defend his family. He remembers using the same line. He began to shake, and the orb faltered in his hand and soon vanished in a poof of smoke. Shussan was beginning to shake. He realized he was becoming like Banzo. "Damn it..." Mumbled Shussan as he turned his back on the girl and Banzo. "I carry out justice." Said Shussan, and the girl looked up at him. "Thank you." Said Shussan in an almost whisper, then he walked over to Yari. "Are you alright?" "I'm fine." Said Yari, she was sitting beside Kyodo and Yuki. "Can you heal them?" Asked Yari. "Who are they?" Asked Shussan, he felt something strange about them. "Kyodo and Yuki." Said Yari as she stared with a concerned look at the two. Shussan appeared shocked, he remembered Tandaku mentioning them. They used the power of the gods. He gritted his teeth. "How did they get hurt?" Asked Shussan. "They helped me attack the Dengen clan, because Yuki already killed the Dark Beast. They offered to help me with this task." Said Yari. "They helped? And the girl slayed the Dark Beast?" Shussan stared at them in silence for a moment. He sighed and scratched his head. "Damn, I guess I owe them then, don't I?" He grinned and cracked his knuckles. "Step aside Yari, I'll heal them." "Really?!" "Yes, even though they have the powers from the gods, they themselves aren't evil. They helped fight the Dengen clan, so they can't be bad." Said Shussan with a bored tone. "So I got no choice but to help them." Yari smiled and nodded, then took a step back. Shussan held out his hand, the palm of his hand faced the two. It began to glow gold, and gold dust swirled around them. The wounds began to close, and heal. Their breathing returned to normal. Yari breathed a sigh of relief. The gold dust soon disappeared and his hand stopped glowing. Shussan yawned, "it's been a long day, let's head back." Said Shussan. "Sure, but one question." "Alright?" "Why did you come in the first place?" Asked Yari. Shussan stopped and began to think. "Well...Well I...." His eye twitched. "I can't remember." "You can't remember? Asked Yari with a giggle. "Don't laugh at your leader!" Shouted Shussan as he turned away. "Everyone has their faults." "Whatever you say." Said Yari with a shrug. Shussan coughed, "well, let's get going before they wake up. I don't feel like getting my identity revealed to them yet." Said Shussan. "Why?" "I want to seem like a cool, mysterious leader to them, someone that may or may not lend a hand every once and awhile." Said Shussan with a grin. "You plan to help them?" "I must, not only do I owe them, but..." He trailed off. "You know the rest, they will need to choose a side soon, and I want them as allies, not enemies." Ahh, I see." "Well, let's get going." Said Shussan as he stretched. He began to walk down the trail and Yari followed. She turned back and smiled the two. "Bye, Kyodo." "Hey Yari." Said Shussan. "Hm?" "Think I would look cool in a cape?" "...No, master."

The little girl cried at the wounded Banzo's side. He weakly smiled at her and patted her heard. "Thanks." Said Banzo weakly. "Why did he attack you? Why did they attack camp?" Asked the girl through her tears. "Because I did some bad things long ago." Said Banzo, he tried to push himself up but couldn't. "Like what?" "..." Banzo was silent. "It's all in the past now." Said Banzo with a small smile. "But what if they come back?" "They won't, don't worry." Said Banzo. "But what if different people come back? What if they're angry at you too?" Banzo sighed, "are you that worried?" Asked Banzo. "Yes." Answered the girl as she wiped some tears away. "Then how about I stop all this? "How?" "I"ll turn a new leaf." Said Banzo with a grin. "I'll defend, and you'll never have to see something like this again." Said Banzo, he noticed she was staring at the blood that was pouring out from the wound on his chest. "Swear?" Asked the girl. Banzo smiled and gave her a thumbs up. "I swear, I'll protect those who need it. I swear it on your mother's grave." Said Banzo as his smile faded away. "Okay..." She knelt beside Banzo, but he finally worked up the strength to stand. He lowered his hand to the girl, and she grabbed it. "Let's find a place to rest." After a few hours, Yuki's eyes opened and she slowly sat up. She yawned and looked around. She saw Kyodo sleeping beside her. She rubbed her head and looked around. "Where did he go?" Asked Yuki. She sighed when she saw no one else beside Kyodo and lied back down under the tree. "I'll just try to get some more sleep then..." Then a grin grew on her face. "Or even better..." She turned to Kyodo. "I'll catch him in the act. I'll prove he's a pervert." She closed her eyes and snickered. "He'll try something with me, and I'll hit him as hard as I can!" She grinned and let the grin fade away and pretended to sleep. She waited about ten minutes, then Kyodo sprang up from the ground. "Yuki!" He looked around, then saw her lying on the ground beside him. He knelt down beside her and felt her head. "The bleeding stopped, that's good." He breathed a sigh of relief. "I'm glad your okay." Said Kyodo in a whisper. He was worried? She then felt something heavy land on her and opened her eyes. She saw Kyodo lying on her, he passed out again. "He was acting cool, then he falls asleep." Yuki just shakes her head. She pushed him off back onto the ground. "Idiot..." Mumbled Yuki. "But thanks for worrying." "No problem." Said Kyodo. "...Eh?!" Yuki jumped up. "You were awake!?" "I remember being up, then everything went dark, then I felt something stab my back." Said Kyodo as he sat up and felt behind him. There was a sharp rock there. "How'd I land on that?" Yuki looked away. "Who knows, well, let's get back to that adventure of yours." Said Yuki as she stretched. "Where we heading?" Kyodo scratched his head as he stood up. "Where we heading? You aren't at all curious why we were healed and Yari's gone?" Yuki shrugged, "if we were healed, then someone must of came and helped, and Yari's body isn't anywhere nearby, so she must be okay too." Said Yuki. "Or they could of taken her body." "Shut up! My logic makes more sense!" Said Yuki. "So come on, where are we going to next?" "Well, there's Haruka nearby." Said Kyodo. "Haruka? Isn't that near Tochi?" Asked Yuki. "I think so." "I loved Tochi last time I went! Let's go and take a quick stop at Haruka, then off to Tochi!" Exclaimed Yuki. Kyodo scratched his head and joined in with her cheer. "Alright! Onwards! To Haruka and Tochi!" They both let out another cheer and went down the dirt path and began on their way. "It's such a great city!" Exclaimed Yari as she looked around. Towers of wood and stone pierced the sky, and the ground was paved in flat, smooth stones. Horses were in stables, and people traveled along the streets. Open stands filled with weapons, armor, and strange objects littered the sidewalks. The tall buildings seemed to not be shops, or they weren't advertising too well. Yari had a big smile on her face as her head turned right and left to look at everything. "Master Shussan, why are we here anyway?" She looked over to him and he looked depressed. She felt a depressing aura around him. "Master?" "....I....I still can't remember why I wanted to come here..." Mumbled Shussan while looking at the ground. "I should be able to remember something like that!" "Cheer up, it'll come back to you, don't worry. And it mustn't of been important if you forgot!" "That's the problem! I know it was important!" Yari sighed. Gisho sat in the large kingdom with gold and black around the walls. "Hehe, I bet he forgot why he went there!" Gisho began to laugh to herself. "He always forgets things like that." She laughed and sighed. "But I'm sure he'll remember, he just has to wait for Banzo." Shussan was hitting his head as he walked. Yari was beginning to get embarrassed by him. "Um, I'm sure some sleep will help! It's beginning to get late, let's find an inn!" "...I don't like inns." Mumbled Shussan. "Don't be stubborn! We're staying at an inn! The old castle of yours smells!" Exclaimed Yari as she grabbed Shussan's wrist and dragged him to an inn. Yari opened the door and was greeted by one of the workers. "Hello, are you looking for a-" The worker saw Shussan, and felt a chill from seeing his depression."Is he alright?" "He's fine, he just needs some sleep!" Said Yari. "Can't...Remember...." "Alright...How many nights?" "Just one." Said Yari as she reached into her pocket and pulled out gold pieces and placed them on the counter. "Is this enough?" "Looks like it." Said the worker with a grin as he swiped the money off the counter. "Your room is A1, have a nice night." "Alright, thanks!" She dragged the depressed Shussan up the stairs and into the room. Shussan sat down on the ground and yawned, then was soon asleep. "Already?" Yari laughed and walked out to the edge of the room to the window and looked out. The sun was setting in the distance and she just smiled. "I wonder how that idiot Kyodo is doing..." "I remember!" Exclaimed Shussan, Yari shrieked and almost fell out the window. "Don't shout like that!" Exclaimed Yari."Damn, almost fell out!" "I'll let your disrespect slide this once." Said Shussan as he stood up. "I came here to guard the Elemental Gems and finally get revenge on Banzo." He sighed and sat back down. "But thanks to his daughter, I've realized my error." Said Shussan. "I guess her shout woke me up from the illusion I lived in. My revenge..." He sighed. "Well, once I stopped pondering about that, I remember why I came!" He laughed and scratched his head. "So, if you find revenge bad, what about the gods?" Asked Yari. "...I don't know, I know that they still need punishment." Said Shussan with a sigh. "I won't let them get away with that, not without some form of revenge. I can't let it go." Yari yawned. "Alright, well, since you remember, your not going to be depressed and embarrassing right?" Asked Yari. "Embarrassing? I'm anything but that!" "Well, that answers that." Said Yari with a grin. "If your better now, let's explore! I want to see how they light this big city up when it's night!" "I heard it was only second to Shagaku." Said Shussan. "But sadly Shagaku is being rebuilt, so we can't see it." Shussan grinned and stood up. "So these lights better be good." "Alright!" Yari ran out the door. "Come on!" Shouted Yari from behind the door as she raced down the hall to get outside. "She's like a little kid!" Exclaimed Shussan as he rubbed his head. "I'm coming!" Shouted Shussan back as he got up and walked out the door.

"That was fun." Said a girl with long brown hair as she held the arm of another boy. She wore regular cloth clothing, and carried a sword at her side. "It was, we should go back tomorrow." Said the boy with short black hair. He wore the same kind of cloth clothing, and he carried a sword at his side too. They both looked to be around sixteen years old. "Benkei, do you hear something?" Asked the girl. The boy, now known as Benkei, looked around. "Not really." Answered Benkei. "I thought I heard something..." "Don't worry, Soyen." Said Benkei as he gave her a thumbs up. "I'll protect you if anything happens." The girl, Soyen, smiled and walked closer beside him. "So are we almost there?" Asked Soyen after a few minutes of silence. "I think so, Haruka is said to be a great laid-back place." Said Benkei with a grin. "I hope so, the crowded city life of Tochi got boring. Just hiking through here was fun." Said Soyen. "Yah!" In Haruka village, screaming villagers were silenced, while others managed to sneak away. Three shadowy figures stood in the middle of the village. They looked just like a human's shadow, but with gleaming white claws and sharp teeth. They all had pitch black eye sockets. "The gems aren't here." Said one. "Then we must search another town." "Which?" "Any, let's all split up, while find it eventually." They all nodded, and ran down three separate paths. "We should be getting close." Said Benkei. "Awesome!" Exclaimed Soyen. "I can't wait-" She paused and pointed forward. "What is that?" Benkei looked to see a shadowy figure race down the dirt road towards them. Benkei grabbed the hilt of his sword when he saw the shadow bear it's claws. "Looks like it's an enemy." Said Benkei. Soyen gripped the hilt of her sword. "I guess we can have some fun." Kyodo and Yuki walked down the dirt road in silence. "Why are you so quiet, Yuki?" Asked Kyodo. "I'm not quiet, I just don't feel like talking." Said Yuki. She couldn't stop thinking about what Kyodo said, and how concerned he was for her. She began to blush then shook her head to stop the memories. "So are we getting close?" "I think so." Said Kyodo, then he stopped. He saw a shadowy figure racing towards them. "What is that?" Asked Yuki. Kyodo gritted his teeth as a sword fell into his hands. "Kill it." Said Kyodo. "What? We don't even know if it's-" "I already know what it is." Said Kyodo, his voice began to fill with anger. "...Alright." Said Yuki as a bow appeared in her hands and an arrow formed in the air. "The stands are still out?" Asked Yari. "Of course, the sun isn't even down yet." Said Shussan. "Well, it needs to hurry! I want to see the lights!" Exclaimed Yari. "Patience." Mumbled Shussan, they both stopped when they heard a crowd of people scream and run towards them. They saw a dead guard on the ground. His once gleaming white armor was now red, and a shadowy figure stood above the corpse. "Well, it looks like he's making his move." Said Shussan. "So we get to kill it?" "Yes, we get to kill it." "Yay!" Benkei and Soyen slashed at the shadow when it got close enough, but it jumped over them. It landed behind them and slashed it's claws at them. They both jumped to avoid the hit, and swiftly turned around to attack. It was already above them. Benkei blocked with his sword as Soyen lunged forward. Her sword pierced through it's chest and it hissed as it jumped back. The seemingly fatal wound healed as soon as it reached the ground. "What the hell is this thing?!" Exclaimed Benkei. It ran forward at them again, and Benkei slashed at it. It evaded, and went towards Soyen. She blocked but was pushed back. Benkei ran forward to hit the shadow away from her. He swung his sword, but it jumped back. "Are you okay?" Asked Benkei. "I'm fine." Said Soyen. "Let's continue this." They both ran in at the shadow. It snickered and laughed as it dodged every blow and struck back with more power. It moved with incredible speed that they could barely match with their eyes. It then appeared behind Benkei and slashed. "Benkei!" She pushed him, and her arm was slashed. "Soyen!" He slashed at the shadow, but it ducked and hit Soyen back. Then attacked Benkei. Soyen rolled on the ground and held her bleeding arm. The wound was glowing a strange color, and more blood seemed to come out the brighter it glowed. "Hehehe..." The shadow laughed and kicked Benkei, then ran at Soyen. It lunged it's claws towards her. Benkei caught it by the wrist before it could land the hit. Benkei coughed up blood as he tightened his group on the shadow. "I...I won't let you lay a finger on her anymore!" Exclaimed Benkei as he slashed down on it's arm. It took a few steps back as it's arm regenerated. Soyen blushed as she pushed herself up. "Please, let me protect you." Said Benkei. She then punched him in the shoulder. "Hey!" "I know you want to play the hero, but don't. We entered this fight together, and we are going to finish it together." Said Soyen as she clenched in pain from the wound. It was glowing brighter. "...Alright." Said Benkei. The shadow's arm has already regenerated and was running back at them. "You ready?" Asked Benkei. "Yep." They both attacked it, but the shadow blocked and evaded. It was guard it's head the most. Soyen grinned through the pain when she noticed this. She began to wait for the chance to strike as Benkei blocked the hits. She began to cut at it, but it blocked. Benkei managed to slash it's arm off again. Soyen took a quick step forward, then slashed. The shadow's head rolled off, and landed beside it's hissing and burning arm. The shadow began to hiss and smoke came out from it. It slowly faded away into the light. Benkei and Soyen both stood there for a second. "We did it." Said Benkei with a thumbs up. "Told yah." Said Soyen, the glowing stopped, but she still lost a lot of blood. Her eye sight began to get blurring and then everything went black. The last thing she heard before she lost consciousness was, "Soyen!" Kyodo slashed at the shadow, and it ducked. Yuki fired arrows at it, and the arrows hit, but had no effect. "What is this thing!?" Exclaimed Yuki. "Just aim for it's head." Said Kyodo as he took another slash at it. It ducked and slashed at Kyodo. He blocked and pushed the shadow back. Yuki fired more arrows, this time at it's head. It looked to be scared and ducked. Kyodo appeared above it and slashed downward. He slashed through it's head and body. The two halves burned and let out smoke as they fell and faded away. "So the head was it's weakness? Kyodo, how did you know?" Asked Yuki. She noticed Kyodo looked to be in deep thought. "I just happened to guess right, that's all." Said Kyodo. "Let's find Haruka." Said Kyodo. "...Don't lie to me." Said Yuki with a sigh. "How come you know it's weakness? Have you fought one before?" Kyodo was silent. "Once, it was several years ago." Said Kyodo. As he gripped his sword tighter, the sword turned to silver dust and faded away. "Is that all your going to say?" Asked Yuki. "Yep." Answered Kyodo. "...Fine." Mumbled Yuki. "When you want, you can tell me the entire story." "Someday." Said Kyodo. His grin returned and he sighed. "Let's head to Haruka!" In Tochi, the shadow slowly faded away. It's head was gone, and the body was in pieces all around the area. "Aww! Master Shussan, you didn't let me fight!" Exclaimed Yari. "You'll get your chance sometime." Said Shussan as he cracked his knuckles. "It's good to know we protected the innocent." Yari sighed and turned around when she heard running. Knights in white armor were running to them. "We had reports of a shadow"! Exclaimed one of the knights. "It's dead. Don't worry." Said Shussan. "Dead? Did you kill it?" Asked the knight. "Yes, so you can send your army back to wherever you all came from." "He seems suspicious." Said one of the knights. "He does." Said another. "Sir, may we ask you to come with us for questioning?" Asked one of the knights as he reached for his sword. Shussan shrugged, "sure." He turned to Yari. "Be good, and wait for me out here. I'll be back." "I want to come too!" Exclaimed Yari. "I always wanted to see another castle." "Fine, just don't say anything that will get you killed." Said Shussan as the knights lead him away. "Aye aye!" She ran after him.

Shussan and Yari were lead to the large towering kingdom that casts shadows over the other nearby houses and stands. A bright blue flame shined at the tip of the kingdom's highest tower, and shined the blue light all over the city. A man with curly black hair sighed as his hands stopped glowing and returned to normal. He looked to be around eighteen. He wore royal clothing and looked up at the blue fire, his creation. He smiled with satisfaction, and walked proudly down the swirling steps that lead him down to the main hall that led into and out of the kingdom. He saw several knights walking down the hall, two people were between them. The man recognized the man immediately. "Shussan!" Shouted the man from the stairs as he jumped from the final steps and landed on the ground. Shussan heard him and grinned as he turned his head to greet the young man. "Long time no see, Moku." Said Shussan. The knights all seemed startled. "Do you know me, Sir Moku?" Asked one of the knights. "Yes, he's an old friend of my older brother." "Of Tandaku?" "Yes, now free him." Said Moku coldly. "We cannot, Sir Moku! We captured him due to-" "You have my word as head-mage of the magic division that he is not any kind of criminal or enemy." Said Moku, his voice turned more cold. The knights all glanced at each other and nodded to Moku, then walked off. Yari stuck her tongue out at them as they left, and snickered. "Head-mage, aye?" Asked Shussan. "Looks like you managed to replace your brother." "Not yet." Said Moku with a sigh. "How is he anyway?" "He's my right hand man, about equal to Gisho." Said Shussan. "So he's become stronger?" "Yes." "That's good, a rival needs to be strong." Said Moku. "So why are you here?" Asked Moku. "Well, we came visiting, and happened to run into a shadow-" "A shadow? Does that mean-" "Yes." Interrupted Shussan, he looked a little angry by getting interrupted by Moku. "The Dark Lord is back, and making his move." Shussan grinned. "The offer is still open, you can join us if you'd like." "No thanks, I'm not a fan of large groups, I only stay at the kingdom to protect the weak of this town." Said Moku. He scratched his head, "I'm not into war and all that." "...Alright." Mumbled Shussan, he then heard someone yelling and he looked back to see a man, looking to be sixteen, running down the hall shouting for a healer. In his arms was a girl, she looked to be sixteen, blood was running down her arm. He shoved past the knights that were in his way as he raced down the hall. Shussan grinned when he saw the look in the man's eyes. "Who's that?" Asked Shussan. "He's Benkei." Said Moku, his voice sounded different now. "And it seems something happened to Soyen." Moku then took off after Benkei. Yari watched them and turned to Shussan. "Are you going to help them? She looks like she lost a lot of blood, and the wound doesn't look normal." Said Yari. Shussan sighed, and nodded. "Yep, so come on, let's follow them." Shussan and Yari walked down the hall and followed the trail of tripping blood that stained the stone floors that were once pure white. The walls were filled with paintings and magic torches that glowed different colors. They made it down to the room with the door hanging half-broken on it. "She was slashed by this shadow thing!" Exclaimed Benkei. "The bleeding won't stop, even after the weird glowing stopped!" Shussan examined both Soyen and Benkei as he walked in. "So you were attacked by a shadow?" Asked Shussan. "I guess so, it wasn't human." Said Benkei with a slight glance at the new person, then returned to watched Soyen. "Well, I'll heal her." Said Shussan as he cracked his knuckles. "Healing magic?" Asked Moku. "What else did you learn in those five years?!" "Many things." Said Shussan with a grin as he held out his hand. His hand glowed and the bleeding stopped, then wound began to heal. Benkei smiled and sighed. He turned to Shussan. "I'm in your debt." Said Benkei as he held onto Soyen's hand. "Ha, no problem at all." Said Shussan. "Now Moku, let's finish our discussion." Moku glanced at Soyen and Benkei, and nodded to Shussan. They both left the room. Other healers were shocked at the healing magic of Shussan. They soon calmed themselves and walked to Benkei. "The wound is healed, but she still needs rest." Said one. "Alright, I'll stay here with her." The healers glanced at each other and nodded to Benkei. They walked away back to their other patients, and returned to their healing. "So who's Benkei? And that Soyen girl?" Asked Shussan. "They both lead the fighting divisions of the kingdom." Said Moku. "Ahh, then they are powerful." Said Shussan with a grin. "Your going to recruit them?" Asked Yari. "Yep." Said Shussan. "Recruit them? Doubt it, they like to travel, I don't know why they are even sticking around the kingdom." Said Moku. "Well, I'll persuade them...Somehow."

Kyodo and Yuki walked down the dirt road in silence. Kyodo had a strange, soulless look in his eyes as he walked. He would constantly sigh and drift from the path, then he quickly readjust himself. Yuki watched him in concern. She knew something was bothering him, but he refused to tell her. She merely sighed and kept walking, trying to think of an elaborate plan to trick him into telling her. She couldn't think of anything. The two neared Haruka, Yuki smiled slightly when she realized this. If we're close to Haruka, that means Tochi should be nearby soon. At least the festivities there should cheer Kyodo up a bit... She started to shake her head. Why am I so concerned about an idiot who won't let me help!? She just sighed and looked up at the darkening sky. The clouds moved in and the sun was almost gone. She saw a bright light in the distance, it shined above the trees. It was a giant blue flame, she realized it was the Tochi's Kingdom Flame. She smiled at it, and knew they were getting close. They then came to a stop when they entered the ruined village of Haruka. Kyodo's eye twitched as he looked around the destroyed homes. "Can't we ever find a normal village?!" Exclaimed Kyodo to the sky. Yuki chuckled at him. "Looks like your a little more alive now." "Pfft, some old memories aren't going to keep me down." Said Kyodo. "Do you think it was the shadow that did this?" Yuki examined the damages. "I think so, there are claw marks." Kyodo sighed, "then there's nothing we can do, I don't see anyone. Hopefully they escaped the shadow's rampage." He looked towards a dirt road that lead north. "This leads to Tochi, right?" "Yes!" Exclaimed Yuki when she spotted the trail. She smiled and ran onto the little road and waved to Kyodo. "Come on, I want to see the lights!" "Alright!" Shouted Kyodo as he ran to join her. Shussan and Yari walked down the hall of the kingdom, Moku returned to attending his duties. "How do you plan on persuading them?" Asked Yari. Shussan sighed and scratched his head. "Who knows, I was thinking of something, but we can't force them. We'll have to let them join us on their own." "On their own? How?" Shussan grinned, "we'll have them run into some people from our guild, and hopefully they'll think it's pretty cool and hope to join." "..." "What?" "Your plan's stupid." "Eh?! I think it'll work!" Exclaimed Shussan. "Whatever you say." Said Yari, she looked out a window as they passed. She saw different colored flames glow through the growing darkness. "Let's go see the lights!" "Why?" "Because I want to see them!" Exclaimed Yari, she then got a sly grin. "Or did you only want to see them with Gisho?" Shussan's face turned red. "N-no! I can see them with anyone! Let's go see them! Now!" Shussan stomped down the hall to the gate that led into the city. Yari snickered as she followed him. Gisho yawned at the black and gold castle deep in the forest. "Eh? Could of swore someone just used my name for something..." She sighed and relaxed in her chair. "Hehe, Shussan didn't even look around for his chair." Said Gisho with a grin. The moon was now high up in the sky, it shined down on the city. Inside the infirmary, Soyen was beginning to wake up. She yawned and looked around. Her hand felt warm so she looked to see Benkei sitting in a wooden chair beside her bed. His hand was wrapped around hers. Benkei was snoring lightly, he looked to be mumbling something in his sleep. Soyen smiled and lied her head back down on the pillow. "I guess I could stay like this for a little longer..." She tightened her grip on his hand, and closed her eyes. In one of the higher rooms of the castle, Moku sneaked down the halls to a room that was guarded by two guards. "I'm Moku, head-mage of the magic division. I wish to enter." The guards both glanced at each other. "Oh, is that Moku?!" Exclaimed a woman's voice from behind the door. "Let him in!" The guards sighed and stepped to the side, and Moku entered. A woman with dirt blonde hair sat on a large bed. She looked to be around his age, and wore royal clothing. Her eyes were focused on him and she smiled. "Moku!" She jumped from the bed, her royalty aura disappearing and hugged Moku. "I missed you." "I missed you too." Said Moku as he hugged her back. "How's it been?" "Boring." Said the girl as she looked away. "Boring until you came, anyway." He glanced away to hide his reddening face. "Well, it's hard to meet. You know I came from the street." Said Moku. "Well, royalty and noble status mean nothing when compared to love!" Said the girl. "But Princess Eshun-" "I told you royalty doesn't matter, so call me Eshun." Said the girl, now known as Eshun. "Well, Eshun, we've been doing this for almost a year. Soon we'll get caught, and you know what they will do to you." Said Moku. "Do to me? Worry about what they'll do to you." Said Eshun. "But I won't let them." Said Eshun with a grin. "So when are you going to be a hero?" Asked Eshun. Moku sighed, "as soon as the occasion comes. When my rank becomes higher and my name known, maybe we could get married." Eshun smiled, "well, we can't do that in this boring city." Said Eshun with a grin. "We have to sneak out." "But Eshun, it'll be dangerous." "I'll have you to protect me, so I have nothing to worry about." Said Eshun. "Because I want to get married too!" She sat on her bed. Moku sat beside her. "A princess sneaking out of a castle will be hard." Said Moku. "We'll ask some people to help us. Benkei and Soyen were pretty adventurous right? We can go with them, they'll have to agree to help!" Moku sighed, "but how will that help you sneak out?" "We'll just walk out one night, but more people will be better. It'll not only make you a hero, but a good leader." Said Eshun with a grin. "...You got this all planned out, don't you?" "Yep!" Eshun smiled and wrapped her arms around his. "I've got nothing to do when you aren't here." Moku tried to hide his blushing face again. "I'll ask them tomorrow." Said Moku. "Alright!" "This place is huge!" Exclaimed Yuki as she ran into the city. Kyodo looked around. "It is! Let's get something to eat!" "There are all these lights, and you think only about food?!" "Well, we haven't eaten in days!" Yuki rubbed stomach. "I guess your right..." She grinned, "then let's get something to eat!" She grabbed Kyodo wrist and began to run to a restaurant. They both entered and came out two hours later. "You ate too much!" Exclaimed Yuki. "Pfft, you ate as much as me!" Said Kyodo. "Well, we'll have to work it off then." Said Yuki with a sly grin. "Let's explore the town!" "But we just ate-" "We're exploring the town." Said Yuki in a stern tone. "...Fine." The two walked around the city streets. The stands were still up and small lanterns with different colors hung beside the stands. Other larger lanterns hung from buildings and poles. As they walked, then heard someone yell out their names. They turned behind them to see Yari in the distance, waving at them. "Yari!" Exclaimed Kyodo and Yuki at the same time.

"Hey Kyodo and Yuki!" Exclaimed Yari as she ran over to them. Yari looked somewhat confused when she looked around her to see Shussan gone. She sighed and shrugged it off. "Yari, what happened before?" Asked Kyodo. "What do you mean?" "When we were fighting that Banzo guy, Yuki and I were out cold, and when we woke up, our wounds were gone, and both you and Banzo disappeared!" "Aww, you were worried about me?" Asked Yari in an innocent tone, with a sly grin. "Hehe, I can't tell you." Said Yari proudly. "Why not?" Asked Yuki. "I just can't, so let's talk about something else." Mumbled Yari. "So are you two here on a date?" "No!" Exclaimed both Yuki and Kyodo at once. "Then you won't mind me tagging along?" Asked Yari. "Sure." Said Kyodo. "I guess..." Mumbled Yuki. "You jealous that you're not the only one with Kyodo?" Asked Yari. Her sly grin began to show itself again. "O-Of course not!" Exclaimed Yuki, she then stomped off. "You guys coming or not?" Yari and Kyodo nodded and followed her as they walked down the crowded street. The stalls were beginning to close, and half-asleep citizens wobbled down the street. Shussan watched them from a distance. "Maybe I should show myself, then once I gain their trust, I can invite them to join me"! Exclaimed Shussan to himself. "Just because they have powers given to them by the gods doesn't mean they will side with them!" He snickered and advanced towards them. He was stopped by a strange man. The man looked to be way older then he was, and hold a long, white beard. The beard was all that could be seen of his face, the rest was hidden by the hood. The man had a cane that had a picture of a dragon spiraling up it. The man's hand had scales growing from it. "Hey there, Shussan." Said the old man. His long cloak covered his entire body. His voice was low and raspy. "How-" Shussan inspected the man a little more. He then noticed the scales on his hand. "Why are you here? I thought you never left the guild." "Hehe, well, I believe you know why." Said the man. "The Dark Lord is rising, his minions are spreading out. Some are even lead by stronger shadows." "That doesn't explain why you here, it actually makes it harder to understand why you here." Said Shussan. "If the shadows are getting stronger, then you should be at your guild defending them." "Yes, but our guild is strong. They can handle things without me while I searched for you." "For me?" "Yes, that power of yours..." The man paused. He sounded a little angry when he spoke now. "We need your power to help." "Oh?" A grin began to grow on Shussan's face. "I thought you would never work with me and my group." Said Shussan. "We can make an exception just once. We are sending small teams out to search the area. Several spots have been found that could have some clues to where the Dark Lord may be at, and..." He trailed off. "Hm?" "It's beginning." Said the man. "His darkness is spreading, it's beginning to take effect on nature itself." "I guess he's stronger now then?" Asked Shussan. "Yes, much stronger." Shussan sighed, his grin was gone. "Is he stronger then me?" The man was silent. "I think so." "Then I guess I'll need to get stronger, won't I?" Shussan grinned. "I heard about the Elemental Gems. I think I'll go get some." "Your going to steal from the kingdom? They have several in their possession." "You forget old man, we protect the justice. I wouldn't steal, I'll go find my own." "Justice you say? So is your revenge justice too?" Asked the old man. Shussan was silent for a moment. "I don't know anymore." The old man then appeared startled. "Did something happen?" "I was just reminded of when I was little, and something inside me seemed to change." Said Shussan. "I hate the gods, what they've done is..." He trailed off. "Well, I'll be going then. I have several members of my guild helping to rebuild Shagaku. When they finish, I'll send them to your guild to help." Said Shussan. "Ah, thank you." Said the old man. "Having the Senshi group on our side will help greatly." "We would of become allies anyway, if what you said is true, we're going to need all the power we can get to bring down the Dark Lord." Shussan grinned. "But there is a condition." The old man seemed to just nod. "I believe I know, you'll want help to open a portal to the gods, won't you?" Asked the old man. "Exactly. If I use all my power to open it, I won't be strong enough to take them down." Said Shussan. "So your guild and mine will work together to open it, then I'll enter. You'll have to keep it open until I return, that's why I require your power." The old man sighed. "Fine, when the time comes for your revenge, we will help with the portal." The old man seemed to stretch. "Well, I have another task to accomplish, so I must be off." Said the old man. His image began to flicker and soon he was gone. "Such a weird guy." Said Shussan, he then looked around. His eye twitched. "I lost track of them!" A man sat in the shadows of an old, dead tree. The man was in a pitch black cloak, he snickered under the tree. His arms were crossed, he appeared relaxed. "So the old geezer made a friend." Said the man slowly to himself in a cold tone. He looked up to reveal his face. It was mostly hidden in the darkness, just his white teeth showed his menacing grin. Beside him was a black scabbard with a black sword inside it. He snickered and stood up, he picked the black sword up. He stretched and walked down the grassy field to a large hole. Guards stood outside it, and when he came closer, they bowed. "Welcome back, Dark Lord."

The man, the Dark Lord, grinned at the guards as he passed by. He went down the dark hole, and followed the stairs into the narrow hall that went on for several minutes. After the long walk, he came to a large open area. With shadows walking back and forth, doors on every wall, and guards that eyed each person carefully. The walls were made of stone and dirt, both the doors were tapestry of different colors. The Dark Lord walked calmly down the room. People would glance to look at him. There were some real people mixed in with the shadows, they seemed to be respected by the shadows. The Dark Lord passed by them all, and walked down to a dark room. He opened the door slowly and entered. He snapped and ring of fire swirled around his finger. It began to grow, then dispersed across the room, hitting each lantern and one by one lighting up the room. He sat down and relaxed. He breathed a long sigh when he heard a knock at his door. "You may enter." Said the Dark Lord after a moment. A woman entered the room. She wore black clothing, and carried a sickle on her pack. She had dark red hair that ran down her back. Her looked to be in her mid-twenties, and in her hand are papers. "What did you find, My Lord?" Asked the woman. "The old geezer from the Dragon guild has allied with Shussan and his Senshi guild." Said the Dark Lord with a weak shrug. "Looks like I'll be up against an army at the end of all this." "Those will misguided views will always try to stand before you." Said the woman. "But the true law of the world will break down upon them without mercy." "Yes, the true, old law of the world..." Said the Dark Lord. A grin grew on his face. "We'll bring it back." "Anything else?" Asked the woman. "Well, an interesting bunch has shown themselves. Two possess the power of the gods, and..." He paused. "Some teens show potential." He grinned. "And what's better, they haven't chosen a side yet." "Your going to try to bring them to our side?" "Yes, and maybe even him..." "Him?" "Shussan." "But-" "Hehe, he could join us." Said the Dark Lord. "His views are much like our own, a little twisted, but close." The Dark Lord yawned. "You know he wants to destroy the gods. We want to destroy them, our reasons different, yet the final result the same. He wants justice, we want justice. We merely have different ways of getting it." "But that's what's important. How you get it means everything." "Yes, which is why we could hide it..." He sighed, "you know what, this is too much work. Let's just see how this all plays out." "Yes, My Lord." Yari, Yuki and Kyodo talked as they walked down the less crowded road. "Caught yah!" Exclaimed Shussan when he caught up with the three. Yuki and Kyodo were confused, and Yari was shocked. "What are you doing here?!" Exclaimed Yari. "I felt like tagging along." Said Shussan. "We're all the same age, so why not enjoy some activities?" Kyodo glanced at Yuki, she shrugged. "We're okay with it." "Alright! So your going to be more social!" Exclaims Yari. "Shussan, walk closer! Your going to have good, normal conversations!" "Eh? My conversations aren't normal...?" Shussan scratched his head. "No, they aren't. We are going to-" "What are you two even talking about?" Asked Yuki. "Nothing." Said Shussan. "Nevermind." Said Yari with a sigh. "Though isn't it a bit late to be tagging along with us?" Asked Kyodo as a yawn escaped his mouth. "I'm getting tired, so I'll be heading to an inn soon." Said Kyodo. "Me too." Said Yuki, she then blushed. "B-but not the same room!" Yari laughed at Yuki. "What?" Asked Yuki. "Your such an idiot!" Laughed Yari. "What?! How?" "Because you don't understand your own-" She stopped herself. "Nevermind, let's just enjoy ourselves." "Alright, so we're all done arguing? Everyone's ready to continue?" Asked Kyodo. They all nodded, and everyone began walking again. Yuki walked close to Kyodo. What does she mean, what do I not understand? She looked over to Kyodo. Is it something to do with him? What was she- Yuki's face turned bright red. "Yari!" "Eh?" Yari looked over sleepily. "I know what you mean now, and I do understand my feelings!" She dragged Yari by the hand away from Kyodo. "Your implying that I like Kyodo or something!" "So you finally get it." Said Yari with a yawn. "Well, I don't!" "You don't, eh?" Yari grinned. "Then you wouldn't mind me hanging around him more?" "Huh?" Yuki's face flashed red. "I-I wouldn't mind it at all!" "Good then!" Said Yari with a grin. She ran over to the ground, and pretended to trip. She guided herself and fell on Kyodo. Kyodo fell on his back and she was on top. "Sorry." Said Yari. Kyodo's face was red. "It's okay." Said Kyodo shyly. "Um, be more careful when you walk next time?" Yari giggled as she got up. "Okay. Kyodo brushed himself off. "But what did you trip on?" Asked Kyodo as he tried to calm himself. "It's all flat here." "Who knows, but life's too short to wonder about those things. Come on, let's keep walking." "Alright." Said Kyodo with a shrug and a yawn. Yuki watched it all, and she found herself feeling angry and a little jealous. "Pft! I have no feelings for him, I'm just tired!" Exclaimed Yuki to herself as she ran to catch up with the group. Shussan watched them all talk and argue. He sighed, "so where we heading?" Asked Shussan. "Who knows." Said Kyodo. "I'm getting tired." Yari grinned. "Well, Shussan and I rented out a room, you two can stay with us." Said Yari. "You and Shussan?" Asked Yuki. "Yah." Said Yari as she glanced back to Shussan, hoping for him to make up a story. "Uh-uh, she's my sister!" Said Shussan. "We came to visit the area." "Oh." Yuki looked a little disappointed. "Well, I guess we could share a room." Said Kyodo. Yari smiled and Yuki frowned. "And like a gentleman, I'll let you two have the beds." Said Kyodo to Yuki and Yari. "Probably some perverted plan of yours." Said Yuki, half mumbling. "Eh? I wouldn't dare do anything perverted!" Said Kyodo. "Oh? Your just a pervert, waiting for your chance!" Said Yuki. "Geez, these two are like an old married couple." Said Shussan to Yari, who watched them argue. "Yah, they're pretty close." "I wouldn't do anything to you!" Said Kyodo. "How can I trust you, pervert? Asked Yuki with a grin, she seemed to like doing this. "Well, because I respect you a lot and wouldn't want to do anything to you that you wouldn't like." Mumbled Kyodo as he tried to hide his red face. Yuki instantly looked away, trying to hide her own face. "W-well, then. I guess I'll accept that excuse for tonight!" Said Yuki. "It's not an excuse!" Kyodo sighed, "never mind, so where's the inn?" Asked Kyodo. "It's on the other side of the city." Said Shussan. "I'll lead the way." Shussan began to walk, and they followed."You coming, Yari?" Asked Kyodo. Yari was standing behind them, rubbing her chin. "Yah, I'm coming, I was just thinking about something." Said Yari as she caught up with them. "Thinking about what?" Asked Kyodo. "About how both you and Yuki are idiots." Said Yari with a sly grin and a snicker.

The group made their way back to the inn. Yuki still shot death glances at Yari. Kyodo was just scratching his head and yawning. Yari snickered, and Shussan just walked behind them. "Well, make yourselves at home." Said Shussan when they all entered the large room. Two beds took up one third of the room, while the rest was filled with other things. A window let in the moonlight. Everyone settled down and rested. Soon, Yuki and Yari were snoring. Kyodo was slowly dozing off to sleep, but woke up when he heard talking outside. He slowly got up off the floor, and stretched. He rubbed the back of his head as he looked down from the window. He saw Shussan slashing the air with a sword. "I will not let it happen again!" Exclaimed Shussan as he practiced his strikes on the air. "I will never let it happen again! I will bring them down!" Shussan continued to slice the air, Kyodo watched and was confused. After several minutes, Kyodo decided to head outside to talk to Shussan. When the door opened, Shussan dashed and pointed the tip of his sword at Kyodo's neck. "Eh?!" "Oh, it's you." Said Shussan, he took a step back. "What are you doing out here?" Asked Kyodo with a yawn. "Training." Said Shussan as he regained his stance and began to practice again. "Oh, got someone you have to defeat?" "You could say that." Said Shussan. "I mostly want to protect those around me, I will not let anyone die due to my weakness." "Sounds pretty noble." Said Kyodo as he leaned against the wall, he tried to keep his head up. "Yes, but there is another goal of mine, one much more personal." Said Shussan in almost a whisper, his blade danced through the air. "Another? Like what?" Asked Kyodo. "To destroy the gods." Answered Shussan, he stopped slashing the air, and let the blade turn into golden dust and blow away. "That power-" "They gave me something they knew I couldn't control. My sister's death is their fault. I'm going to kill them. I'm going to end their damn game." Said Shussan, he stared Kyodo in the eyes. Kyodo looked surprised. "So your really planning to kill them...?" Asked Kyodo, his fists were clenched tightly, he looked like he was shaking. "Yes, what they've down is unforgivable." Said Shussan, he held out his hand to Kyodo. "You hold the same power, do you carry the same revenge as me? I would like to have you and Yuki on my side against them." Said Shussan. Kyodo's teeth gritted together. "I can't." Said Kyodo, he held out his hand, and a silver blade formed. "I won't let you kill them either." "Your going to stand by them!?" Exclaimed Shussan. "Don't you see? This is all a game to them! Our struggle, our pain, our death, all, but a laugh for them!" "This power they gave me...It allowed me to save myself and..." He trailed off. "I'm not going to stand by and let you kill them." Said Kyodo. "So you intend to kill me to save the gods?" Asked Shussan. "I'd like to see you try-" Kyodo let out a shout as he jumped at Shussan. Kyodo held his sword above his head and struck it down at Shussan. The blade shattered, Shussan's finger blocked and broke the sword. "Idiot." Said Shussan, Kyodo was looking down at the broken sword, the pieces turned to silver dust and disappeared. "You were given a chance to help better the world and blew it." He shrugged, "but let's keep the fighting out of this city for now." Kyodo calmed himself and sighed, "then while in here, we are allies, when we leave this city, we become enemies." "Sounds good." Said Shussan. "Hehe, I'll ask Yuki about joining me tomorrow too." Kyodo seemed shocked. "Good night, Kyodo." Said Shussan as he walked back into the inn. Kyodo stood outside the inn, the moon shined down on him. He clenched his fist. "I won't let you." Said Kyodo. The next day came, and everyone began to wake up. Kyodo mumbled something as he pushed himself off the floor. Yuki was already up, looking out the window. Kyodo stared at her for a bit, her hair shined in the sunlight. She had a slight smile on her face. Kyodo sighed and got up. He saw Shussan and Yari were already up. Shussan glared at Kyodo. "Well, Shussan and I decided we're going to head back this afternoon. So let's make this a good morning!" Said Yari cheerfully. "Already?" Yuki scratched her head. "Alright." "Then let's get moving." Said Kyodo as he walked out of the room past everyone. Shussan watched him leave. Yuki scratched her head. "Did something happen to him?" Yari shrugged and Shussan said nothing."Let's just follow him." Said Shussan, as he walked out and was followed by Yari and Yuki. The group walked in silence for a bit, Kyodo stayed near Yuki. She glanced worryingly at him at times. Yari noticed a grin on Shussan's face and immediately understood what happened. "You talked to him last night, didn't you?" Asked Yari. Shussan only nodded. "Hmm, that reminds me." Said Shussan after a minute. "Yuki, could I talk to you privately?" Asked Shussan innocently. "Hm? Oh sure-" Kyodo stuck his arm out to block her. "Kyodo?" "I won't let you have her." Said Kyodo to Shussan. "It's her choice, isn't it?" What are they talking about? I-Is Kyodo jealous? Yuki's face turned red. "W-Well, what's wrong? What's my choice?" Asked Yuki. "To join me." Said Shussan with a grin. People walked by, they didn't look or even glance at the group at all. They seemed like they were avoiding them. "Join you?" She glanced at Kyodo, she saw his fists were clenched. "Yes, join my guild, and help with a specific task." Said Shussan. Yari glanced at him. "I want your help in terminating the gods." Said Shussan. For a minute, the entire group was silent. Yari saw Kyodo's expression, and reached for the hilt of her katana. She withdrew her hand when Yuki spoke. "How could I work against them? They gave me these powers to protect the innocent, they are justice, and killing them would be injustice!" Exclaimed Yuki, she shyly glanced at Kyodo and blushed slightly. "Besides, Kyodo seems to be against it....and..." She paused to clear her throat. "I want to travel with Kyodo..." Yari just smiled and shook her head. Shussan sighed, "you know this makes us enemies then?" Asked Shussan. "Yep." Said Yuki. Again, there was silence. Kyodo let his arm drop and he calmed himself. He glanced at Yuki, she looked confident. He didn't want to look weak, not in front of her. He stood up tall. "So now you have our answers." Said Kyodo with a bold tone. "What will you do?" "Nothing." Said Shussan with a shrug. "Not until we all leave the city that is, and I'm not in the mood to fight." He glanced at Yari, she nodded. "We'll be leaving now, I hope you two have a nice day." Said Shussan with a grin. In a golden flame, Yari and Shussan disappeared, leaving Kyodo and Yuki alone. "Thanks." Said Kyodo. "Hm?" "Nothing!" Said Kyodo with a grin. "This place has gotten boring, how about we start our travels again?" Yuki smiled, "yah, sounds good." Benkei and Soyen walked down the palace halls. "Thank you for staying with me through the night." Said Soyen shyly. ".." Benkei blushed and turned his head. "I will stay with you every night and day." Mumbled Benkei through the embarrassment. Soyen blushed, "is that a proposal?!" Exclaimed Soyen excitedly. "EH?! N-No!" Exclaimed Benkei while he waved his arms. He sighed, "I'm happy how we are now, no marriage yet." "Pfft, fine." Said Soyen with a shrug. "So where to? You said we head someplace urgent to go." "We are going to the Princess's room, she has summoned us for some reason. She said Moku will be there too." "Oh, the secret lovers." Said Soyen with a snicker. I wonder what they have planned."
