"I smile and laugh, but deep down I'm a broken spirit...."

Ayame struggled down the hallway with luggage in one hand and a backpack in the other. She was ready for a new life. A new life at a new school. It would be a completely different experience for her. Even though she knew she would become home sick after some time. Ayame's heart wanted to stay back home with her father. But her mind told her to try something new and grow up. Make new friends. A smile started forming on the end of her lips as she thought about her new life experience here. Hopefully people will like me. Ayame thought as she came to a sudden stop in front of the dorm she was assigned to. She examined her dorm information for a brief moment before looking up at the door leading to her new room. "This is it." Ayame says with a sigh of relief as she dropped her backpack onto the ground to fish for the key in her skirt pocket. She quickly retrieved it and stared at the key in front of herself for a moment before sticking it into the lock and turning it. The door opened silently. No screech. No shoving to open it. Nothing. It glided open smoothly.

Ayame smiled before grabbing hold of her backpack and dragging it inside. Her eyes widened and sparkled at the sight of her beautiful living room. "This is unbelievable." She says in awe as she drops her luggage by the door and starts exploring her home. From the kitchen then to the bathroom and the study room, everything was perfect. Everything seemed brand new. Ayame raced around the dorm till she came across a deep chocolate colored bedroom. "I think this will fit me better then the other bedroom." She says with a more calmed tone as she walks around her new room. She was a lot more relaxed now. Even though she did still have a tiny urge of excitement left. Ayame let out a long sigh as she belly flopped onto her comfy king sized bed. "....I wish you could see this mom." She whispered to herself.

A bad person? No. A twisted sense of fun? Possibly. That 'sense of fun' is what got him landed here. A small smirk came to the face of Augustus Frost. He wasn't necessarily looking forward to schooling, but remembering the events that landed him here were enough to bring a smile to his face. August had gone through the motions once before in a normal high school. Simply stated, it didn't work out too well.

Generally at a moment like this, he'd be pepped up and excited. This time was slightly different. With all his possessions cramped into good sized bag slung over his bad, he made his way to the dorm with a contemplated expression taking over his face. He bit his lower lip, holding onto the knob of the front door to the dorm he was directed to. Hesitantly, he thought about what he was getting himself into. He could always just run away, and not deal with any responsibility.
"What are you thinking, this will be cool." He said under his breath. A smile was brought back to his face. There was no running away. Time to take on responsibility and make the best of it. His navy colored eyes regained their shine almost immediately as an idea popped into his head. August silently entered the room. The door was already unlocked. A good sign. He set his bag down at the door and shut his eyes sensing someone in the other room.

August made his way through the gorgeous living room, more focused on meeting the lucky dorm mate instead of observing his new home. He arrived at Ayame's door. A girl? Alright. He could live with that. Hopefully she wouldn't try to do his nails or something to that affect. Just the idea made him shutter. Then again, he might actually enjoy it. Well, it was time to make a new acquaintance. With a wide smile plastered on his face, August pushed her door open.
"Why good morning sunshine! Don't you look comfortable." He announced, not taking into mind that she might be busy in thought. He proudly stood at her doorway. "The name's August." He added. He wasn't sure if that was normal for a greeting. He didn't care if it was normal.

"I smile and laugh, but deep down I'm a broken spirit...."

Ayame's heart skipped a beat as she cocked her head towards the sound of a strangers voice. For a moment their she thought she would have to go kung-foo on someone. But when she realized it was a guy, her nerves calmed down shortly after. "Geez...." She whispered to herself as she got up off her bed and walked towards her new guest. "I'm guessing your my roommate?" She asked, though she was pretty positive what his answer would be so she blew the question aside. "I'm Ayame." She said with a small smile as her arm extended forward. "Nice to meet you August."

Ayame could tell by her new roommates entrance that he wasn't a shy guy. Not a loner. Nor a loser. First glance you would think hes a loner. But once this guy opens his mouth your opinions about him completely change. August seemed more like an outgoing guy. Maybe even a class clown. Well, at least I'm not stuck with some preppy annoying girl. Ayame thought to herself as she stopped focusing her attention on August.

August smiled, finding her reaction to his bold greeting funny. Well, one thing was certain, she was not a spaz. First impressions were essential. So far, so good. He almost sighed in relief once he got a full view of her. Thank God she wasn't one of those stereotypes or one of those uptight girls. His thought process was spinning about as he wondered what he should say next. Names... check. What came next? After a quick glance to the floor, he noticed her hand. Oh! He shook her hand before looking up to get a good look at the face of his new roomie. She seemed genuine. He couldn't complain. With a small nod he said, "Hello Ayame."

At this point he wasn't sure what to expect or what kind of impression to make. Augustus subconsciously put his fingers near his face while thinking. He was at a loss for how he wanted to be viewed as.
"Your roommate? Nah, I'm just the neighborhood weirdo." He teased with a partial smile. Hopefully she had a good sense of humor or that sarcasm might get him in trouble."I am guessing you want this room, so I can take the other? Unless you wanted both. I am perfectly content with a couch or a floor." he shrugged, glancing back over the living room. This was probably the most fancy housing style he'd ever get to stay in. For school being a punishment, it seemed more like a gift at this point.

"I smile and laugh, but deep down I'm a broken spirit...."

Ayame stared at him with a raised eyebrow. She wasn't sure if it was a joke or not till she realized his smile afterwords. What a relief. She thought to herself as she laughed nervously. Even though it was a late response. She knew that she probably already looked like a fool to her new roommate. I should have just saved the laugh.

Ayame rested both hands on her hips as she looked at him questioningly "Couch or floor?" She chuckled slightly at his suggestion. "It's two bedrooms you know. I don't need that much room." Ayame removed her hands from her hips as she walked passed August and into the hallway. Her long chocolate hair flowing behind her. She pointed to the room directly next to hers. "That ones yours. I don't know your style but hopefully it fits you." She says with a slight smile.

Chills suddenly started to form on Ayame's arms. It wasn't the cold. It's normal temperature in here. She had this feeling before. And it wasn't a surprise to her that she felt it here. The strong feeling pulled her attention out the window. But Ayame didn't dare to go check out the window. She knew what was out there and she knew it could wait. Not only that but she didn't want to be labeled as a 'weirdo' by August. Spirits already. She sighed to herself.

"Some of the girl's I've encountered throughout my years need that much space. Don't ask how or why; they just did. I guess you're one of the good girls." August smiled, not sure if that was a compliment or not. It certainly was not an insult. As directed, he went over to the doorway of his new room. It only took a glimpse to know the room satisfied his requirements: bed, ceiling, clean windows. He liked it. This was certainly way more than he had expected. "My style?" He questioned, not sure of that himself. "I suppose my style is anything simple. The simpler the better, that way I can add my own wow-factors as time goes on." He glanced back at her after figuring out what his style was.

Augustus could sense there was something different about this girl. Something unique that didn't quite meet the eye. He wasn't sure what, but then again, this was their first meeting. He'd have plenty of opportunity to get to know her. He observed her quietly for a second.
"Is it cold in here or something?" He asked, cocking his head to the side. Due to the type of institution this was, maybe she was some type of immortal creature. August's eyes wandered around the room as he wondered about the possibilities.

At that moment, August decided he was not going to reveal his true nature to her. Was he ashamed of what he was? No. He just decided it would be best and more fun to keep everyone guessing. With a smug smile, he asked,
"So what brings you to this fine schooling facility?" August made his way to his bag of possessions and tossed it into his room. That was the extent of unpacking he intended to do for now. He went and took a seat in the living room area. It was so open and modern. His gaze fell upon Ayame. Questions galore started barraging his mind. He female roommate. What would that have in store for him? Better hygiene? Girlie parties? Drama? In short, he had been avoiding girls in order to avoid things like that.

"I smile and laugh, but deep down I'm a broken spirit...."

August's compliment brought her back to reality. It was probably one of the few best compliments that she had gotten. Even though he most likely intended it not to be one. "Cold? No. It's probably just me adjusting to things. You know, takes time." Ayame said nervously as she scratched the back of her head. That was probably the lamest excuse she had ever used but it worked. For now.

Ayame turned to follow her new roommate. She hoped that he wasn't the type to get bothered easily. Or the type that gets annoyed so simply since she did tend to be the curious type with questions. She plopped down onto the sofa a short distance away from August and glanced around the room. Still getting adjusted to her new living style. She puffed out some air as she listened to his question. She really didn't want to tell him her whole story. Maybe half would work. "My father got a job around here. And he figured this was the most decent school in the area. So here I am." Ayame says with a half smile as she rests her back on the sofa and sinks in. "What about yourself?"

August laughed lightly, figuring there was a bit more behind the term 'adjusting'. He wasn't one to pry unless playing around though. He simply smiled and replied, "Yeah, it is a bit difficult. I could get used to living in a place like this. I've never really been in this type of an accommodation." He remarked, using such words to avoid flat out saying he was a vagabond. That wasn't truly the truth though. He had managed his way in the past into palaces and mansions, but those visits were short term. This appeared to be a long term stay.

August nodded at her answer. It was fair enough. He was a bit surprised when she turned the question around to him. His jaw shifted as he thought of a suitable answer. He really didn't care if she knew about his reasons for being there. It wasn't like he did anything really bad. He cleared his throat,
"Well, I suppose you could say I got in trouble with the law and the law decided I needed to be roped down. It was just some issues with being at the wrong place at the wrong time and participating in activities that I didn't think were against the law. I didn't do anything criminal like. Just my passport was fraud, and I thought the riot was a mash-pit. But it's okay, it ended me here." He laughed lightly, figuring his explanation was innocent and dumbed down enough. Now that he thought about it, there really was nothing wrong with what he was doing. Oh well. It was a new start now, and he wasn't going to hide the fun facts about him from his roommate... Well, except his species of course.
