Her meeting with leading members of neighboring fruit trees had ran a tad longer than she had expected and the sky over head was darkening quickly. A sigh escaped her lips as they still had a fair amount of distance to travel back home.
"the king should spend less time playing with his mares an more time attending his duties as leader." she commented. It was true she was queen of the holly tree and she did hold more than enough duties of her own as such but as of late it seemed she held more and more of the kings as well. This was indefinitely not to her liking even in the slightest especially when it meant walking home in the dark up the icy mountains alone.
Amore pipped in "not everyone is as dutiful as you my queen." her tone sweet and cheerful like the tinkling of tiny bells.
Isolde cast a glance at her hand maiden from the corner of her eye it was obvious Amore was exhausted from the days travels.

"I can't just leave you the king said not to for any reason." Amore protested gently.
"and I as queen tell you to fly ahead. Jack vaingold has no say over me or you when it concerns me." Isolde responded anger flared in her tone. There were only two things she confident stand one Jack Vaingold and two her orders being undermined. The combination of the two made her quite nearly livid.
Amore knowing she had messed up gave a slight bow and shot off into the growing darkness.
Isolde looked about the silence fell heavy on her ears save the crunching of snow beneath her ice blue hooves. It was more than welcome it reminded her of when she was only a foal. The snow sparkled as she did she was perfectly suited for these conditions so she took her time enjoying every moment.
An hour or so passed and she heard wing beats assuming they were that of silica coming to escort her she ignored the approach and ate some snow to quench her slight thirst.
"kind of late to be out misssss" came a hissing voice from behind her.
She snapped to attention and turned it was certainly not sillica but more rather . . .a horned winged . . .fanged black and red stallion. But perhaps what was worse than all that was the intent that lurked behind those blood red eyes.
She took a step back involuntarily he notes it with a grin and a languid lick of his fangs.
"whats the matter darlin." he growled giving his massive bat like wings an intimidating flap. He was clearly enjoying her fright
"stay back!" she shouted her voice shaking "I have guards coming!" she added "you touch me and you'll sighn your death warrant!"
He laughed "then I had better make it worth my while!" he said then lunged forward
She couldn't move she stood frozen in place like a fearful statue his fangs sank painfully into her white coat sending a spray of hot blood across the crisp clean snow.
