Just because she was small meant nothing to Midori. She wasn't exceptionally small -- her brother, Miyoko, was smaller than her by several inches -- but she was skinny and leggy, for a Dachshund. Pureblooded, but not show quality, not by far. Still, it didn't bother her. She bounced through life with a broad smile and wagging tail.
The little double-merle pranced through the park, enjoying the feel of winter's brisk chill on her face. With each small stride she took, the snow crunched underfoot and she glanced around with bi-colored eyes, spotting dogs of all shapes and sizes with their Masters. And where was her Master?...busy, of course!
Midori let out a squeal of happiness as she took off at a lope to stretch her legs, eager for agility-season.
