♦What my life has been like up until this point: Up until she met her boyfriend, well, ex boyfriend now, Chou's life was just like any other high school girl's. However, because she trusted her ex so much, Chou began distancing herself from her family, as was what he encouraged. Only a few months after they started dating, she got pregnant. At this time, her family was falling apart. Her parents both remarried and neither set wanted a pregnant teenager. So they put her up in a small apartment, where she lives now. They pay her rent and put money into her account a few times a month but never really contact her.
Chou's ex boyfriend and father of her unborn child is no where to be found. He once said that he was going out of town to start his new life, get a job to support them. That was eight months ago. Now, only one month left in her pregnancy, Chou is facing the future as a single, teenage mom.♦

The sun hung From a string Looking down on On the world As it warms everything
♥xxxChou Kawanoxxx♥

Warm, delicate sunshine streamed through an open window and a cool morning breeze flowed through, making the sheer white curtains dance. The room was silent except for the steady sound of a clock and the ambient sound of life outside the small apartment house. A blond head was peeking out from underneath the blanket, oblivious to the going on around her. Suddenly, the shrill cry of an alarm clock broke the silence, making the figure beneath the covers stir. A hand shot out and smacked the annoying contraption quiet though soon enough the body of a high school girl was revealed as the blanket fell away. It also revealed a life growing inside her. She yawned, blinking to clear her eyes as she stared out the open window. Stretching to the ceiling, the girl slowly rose to her feet, though not without trouble from her rather large belly.
Bare feet padded to the bathroom, the door closing behind her though she emerged again a few minutes later, the sound of a toilet running in the background as she rubbed her eyes. She looked at the calender that had been posted up and sighed. Right, today was the opening ceremony. Though it was her second one, she still had to go. Her bare feet met cool hardwood as she waddled her way to the kitchen, pulling open the fridge. Looks like yesterdays dinner was going to be breakfast again. She opened a cupboard that creaked in protest and took out a few bottles of vitamins, running the water and soon putting a glass underneath it. Other than a few dishes in the dry rack and a couple other things, it hardly looked like she resided here. She set the timer on the microwave, swallowing a handful of vitamins. Her attention was drawn elsewhere as her phone rang. "Kawano residence." She answered out of habit. "Chou?" A female voice asked on the other end. A small smile came to the blond girl's lips. "Hi mom." She answered back.
Chou moved about her small apartment home, the phone held between her ear and her shoulder. She removed her food from the microwave, listening to the woman on the other end. "Yes, I've been taking my vitamins. I know you're busy, don't worry about me. I can take care of myself. Yes and the baby. Yes, I went to the bank yesterday and paid a few bills. I still have lots of money left. You don't have to." She said with a frown. She sat at her low table, on her cushion, beginning to eat her breakfast. "I know, Mom. You really don't have to make another deposit." Chou sighed lightly. "Okay then. I have to go and get ready for school. Yes, I'm still attending. Alright well I'll talk to you later then. Bye." The conversation ended with a high pitched 'beep' and her blue eyes stared at the screen. "At least she bothers to call." Chou said, placing a hand on her growing stomach. "Don't worry, little one. Everything will be fine." At least, she hoped everything would be fine. No, thinking like that wouldn't help anything or anyone. She pushed it out of her mind and got her feet, bringing her dishes to the sink.
Her feet padded against the wood floor again as she went back to her room, taking her school uniform from the closet. She folded up her futon and managed to put it away, though it was beginning to take more and more effort. Resting for a minute or two, Chou got to her feet again, picking up her modified school uniform that was hanging over the back of her desk chair. As she struggled to hook her bra, Chou frowned, looking at the size. With a sigh she shook her head, managing to get it on anyways. She had just bought a new one because her old ones were too small and now she needed more? Well, she shouldn't be surprised, what with being pregnant and everything. The blond girl glanced at the clock and gasped. Was that the real time? Her phone told her it was. "Oh man! I'm going to be so late!" She shouted, running about her home. Once she was fully dressed, she quickly put her shoes on, grabbed her bag, locked the door quickly and ran down the street. She got about a block and a half before she realized that she forgot her lunch. Though, after a quick glance at the time on her phone, Chou decided she didn't have enough time to retrieve it. Convenience store lunch it was. Again.
Huffing and puffing heavily, Chou held her pregnant belly as she ran, the school finally coming into sight. Just as she was approaching the gate, she heard the bell signaling that homeroom would be beginning soon..

The ammount of crap the average person goes through in life is amazing... Lizzy Something squirmed speaking softly and tugging at the man’s arm. He rolled over, pulling the toddler onto his back, where she continued to whine, pulling at his hair now. “Daddy. Daaddy!” She started to squeal. Avis sighed into the pillow, his silver eyes flickering open. He loved his girl, but she always was up before the sunrise. He shifted again and she climbed up, staring to jump on the bed. Since the bed was so big and she was so tiny, it didn’t do much but make her fall over and squeal. Avis sat up, running his fingers through his hair. “C’mere you rascal you.” He held out his arms to her, which she jumped into, squealing. He kissed her forehead, holding her tight to him, making her squirm and giggle. “Sometimes I wonder why you were named Elizabeth instead of something happier. Like Joyce or something.” “Lizzy!” She corrected him, wresting her way out of his arms and onto the floor. “Get dressed, Daddy!” She put her hands on her hips, giggling up at him. He stood up, putting his hands on his own hips, making the girl squeal and run out of the room. “Another day.” Avis sighed softly, pulling a shirt on over his blonde head. The first thing a person would ask if they looked in on his life was where was his wife? Nonexistant. Avis had never been married, nor would he probably ever be. Nobody wanted a worn out guy with a kid. They immediately thought the worst. But it wasn’t like that. Nobody gave him a chance to tell his side of the story, it was all stereotypes and worse-case-scenario. He never got a chance to explain that he saved Lizzy’s life. Avis sat down at the table, eating Fruit Loops with the two year old, their Parrot, Olli squawking in the corner. Since the house was rented, they weren’t allowed to have a dog. But for some reason, they were allowed to have a parrot. Avis would never understand the logic in that decision, but he went with it. Lizzy loved the bird, and frankly, so did Avis. Avis got dressed and drove Lizzy to day care. He hated being away from her for so long each day, he felt like he was missing out on her life, but apparently schools didn’t appreciate it when you brought in your toddler. No, he wasn’t a teacher. He was a janitor. He cleaned up spitballs, vomit, and scraped gum off of the bottom of desks for a living. That was certainly his ideal job. But it was all he could find at short notice. And, though he was always looking, nobody seemed to want to hire him. So he was stuck with a bunch of highschool students. ...But poeple like me go through all that in a week.

♥xxxChou Kawanoxxx♥

Chou was staying back after school to get some extra work and help so it was quite late when she was leaving school. The blond girl sighed, rubbing her very large stomach as she stood at the entrance to the school, just watching the sun slowly set. She didn't want to go back home, back to the empty apartment she was renting. It was so quiet there, though it wouldn't be for long she thought as a foot kicked her side a bit painfully. When she looked up again, the blond girl saw a familiar face and smiled. "Avis!" She called, waving and walking over to him with a smile. "Working late again today? How Lizzy doing?"

The ammount of crap the average person goes through in life is amazing... Lizzy Avis yawned, leaning on the broom and surveying. He had gotten quite good at lcleaning on auto pilot. And even though he still had twenty minutes left in his shift, everything was in ship-shape. Avis smiled, proud of his work. He smiled wider, though, when a familliar girl called his name. "Heya Chou." He smiled at her, noticing her ever growing belly. He did some quick mental calculations. One month left. "Yeah. They roped me into it. I hate it, but then again Lizzy is getting a bit too big for some of her clothes. And someone has to work." He shrugged nonchalantly. "She's doing good. Quitet he ball of energy. She's up before me every day. My little human alarm clock." His words were joking but affectionate. "So how are you and Baby X doing?" He nodded, leaning the broom on the wall and rolling up his sleeves. ...But poeple like me go through all that in a week.

The sun hung From a string Looking down on On the world As it warms everything ♥xxxChou Kawanoxxx♥ Chou smiled, giggling a little when he commented on his adorable little girl being his own human alarm clock. It was obvious that he was joking though it was also glaringly obvious that he loved and adored said little girl. She remembered his comment about hating the work and she couldn't help but agree, lightly flipping one of her blond ponytails over her shoulder again out of sheer habit. At his question, the blond girl with bright blue eyes sighed, unconsciously resting a hand on her large stomach.
"Really active lately and doesn't want to let me get sleep. It's kind of uncomfortable but, well ... Hey! How about letting me come over tonight and make you guys dinner? I always make too much at home anyways." She suddenly suggested, changing the subject from herself. She didn't want to let on about how scared she was. Chou was going to have to raise this baby by herself, graduate from high school and, somehow, get a job and attend college on the scholarship she had already received. The girl didn't have a support system. It was just her. The ammount of crap the average person goes through in life is amazing... Lizzy "You sure you don't have too much homework?" He teased lightly, opening the supply closet and putting in the broom, closing it and pulling his work shirt up over his head. He always wore a black T-shirt underneath it. He stretched, his tattoo happy to get a little bit of sun. "Sure. If you want to. I'm always open to more company." Avis nodded. "I'm always ready to break from Mac and cheese and little cut up hot dogs." Avis could cook if he really put his mind into it, but often he was so tired. But Lizzy didn't complain, she was a good sport. She got good meals on weekends, as well. So it was all okay in her mind. He patted her belly, grinning. "Are you like Buddah now?" He teased softly. "Is rubbing your belly good luck?" Avis continued down the hall, going a bit slow as to not make Chou have to rush-waddle. He didn't mind. "Because you could be the luckiest girl in the world for another month." ...But poeple like me go through all that in a week.

The sun hung From a string Looking down on On the world As it warms everything ♥xxxChou Kawanoxxx♥ Chou smiled at him, laughing a bit, following him as he opened the supply closet and putting the broom he had been using away. She had to admit, Avis was spectacularly handsome. The girl only wished that she could find someone like him that would be accepting of what her life was soon going to be like. It wouldn't be long before her world revolved around feeding times, babysitters and diapers. Lots and lots of diapers. While she had been lost in thought, the blond's usual chipper smile had faded to a frown though when the man spoke again, she plastered it back on. "Well, I'll make you a meal you'll never be able to forget and I'll be sure to make a lot of it so you can do whatever you like with it."
At the pat on her belly, Chou blushed a bit, realizing she had been rubbing it absently. "Well, my body is a temple at the moment." She replied a bit cheekily in response to his soft teasing. She followed him down the hall, thankful that he wasn't moving as fast as the girl knew he could be. Being huge didn't exactly help with mobility. The blond girl laughed at his question. "I wish it was good luck." "If giving this huge thing a rub was good luck, well, things would be different is all I can really say." Yeah, it was only another month until she would be ready, physically at least, and could go into labor at any given moment. Despite that fact, Chou would be attending school right up until her due date; she didn't have a choice in the matter. It was either attend until she couldn't possibly attend anymore or fall behind.
"You're really lucky, Avis," The blond girl began, her big blue eyes looking up at him as she smiled, "Lizzy is such a great kid. She doesn't hardly complain and is just a ray of sunshine. Plus, you're too old for high school now." She added, teasing him a bit. The ammount of crap the average person goes through in life is amazing... Lizzy Avis caught the girl's frown before she spoke. He was great at preciving the underlying emotions in people. And Chou was no different. She was always in a hurry to please, dispite her feelings. A sweet girl, but she needed to speak up more, in his eyes. "Luck somes in mysterious ways." Avis shrugged. "If I had been lucky in my eyes two years ago. I wouldn't have my beautiful Lizzy. And I wouldn't be here to help you out now." He reached in his pocket, pulling out his keys. they had made it to the parking lot, and his car was close to the enterance. "It's all a matter of perspective in the long run. If your family had been different. Woudl you still be the woman you've grown up to be?" He asked her, not really expectang an answer. Avis unlockedt he car and climbed into the driver's side, clocking his seatbelt in and starting the vehical. "Sorry it's a bit cramped and messy." He grabbed a bag from the passenger's seat and tossed it into the Car Seat in the backseat, even though Lizzy would have to sit there later. He chuckled. "Too old for high school, eh? I was twenty. My girlfriend was still in high school. Seventeen." He shrugged. "She didn't handle being pregnant as well as you, let me tell you." Avis shook his head. But it didn't really bother him much any more. sometimes thinkign about her made him angry, others sad. But right now it was just something that had happened, nothing more. He had made sacrifices like Chou was going to have to make, though many wouldn't believe it. But he didn't bring it up. He flicked on the radio, soft jazz coming out of the sterio. ...But poeple like me go through all that in a week.

The sun hung From a string Looking down on On the world As it warms everything ♥xxxChou Kawanoxxx♥ Chou listened to him talk and nodded a few times. He was right and she knew it though she thought that his situation and hers were a little different. He was an adult then and now while she was a teenager now and would be by the time her child was Lizzy's age. He was right, at least mostly. When they stopped at the char, the blond girl couldn't help but giggle. He was pretty cute when he was flustered and a bit embarrassed. "It's okay, really."
"That's right, you were twenty and out of high school already." She stated. After a moment, though, she sighed and looked to him. Her attention was drawn elsewhere though as her seat belt stopped moving suddenly. Her beautiful blue eyes blinked as the realization that the belt was as far extended as it would go and it still wouldn't stretch over her large belly. With a sigh, she braced herself and leaned back as far as she could go, tucking the belt beneath her round stomach. Chou relaxed again with a heavy sigh, a pink tint coming to her cheeks when she looked over and Avis was looking at her strangely, a smirk on his lips. "W-what? It won't stretch over my stomach." She explained, flushing with embarrassment. The blond sighed once again, sitting back though she seemed to perk up at the music.
Soon, they arrived at Avis' humble abode, a rather nice house that was well maintained though it was obvious that it needed a woman's touch. The girl managed to squirm her way out of the vehicle though she, however much to her annoyance, required Avis' help to get out of the car. Once she was on her feet, her blue eyes looked down at the hyper little girl that was the spitting image of her father. Chou giggled and followed the pair into the house that was a tad on the messy side though the high school girl didn't mind a lick. She enlisted the help of the sweet, adorable little Lizzy, giving her the task of mixing the dry ingredients. "I hope you like Parmesan Chicken."
A little while later, Chou was getting Lizzy to help her set the table, only giving her plastic cups only as not to risk breaking anything. She also let the little girl have some cutlery, the plastic ones that were reserved for said little girl. The blond girl flipped her hair over her shoulder as she leaned down to open the oven and retrieve the chicken that had been baking for the last half hour. She had also lightly steamed some carrots and warmed up some corn to go with it. The meal was large enough that the two could eat it for a week or turn it into something else. She poured a cup of coffee for Avis, enjoying playing the role of 'wife'. It wasn't often that she felt like she was making a difference so Chou was soaking this up as much as she could. Once Lizzy had some juice in a sippy cup, Avis had his coffee just the way he liked it, the blond girl, wearing an apron as not to dirty her school uniform, sat down at her seat at the table with a glass of juice in hand. "Well, eat up. I hope you like it."

The ammount of crap the average person goes through in life is amazing... Lizzy Avis turned quickly when Chou explained that she couldn't get the seatbelt over her stomach. He hadn't realized he had been sort of staring at her. He was remembering. Remembering when Heather's stomach was like that, pregnant with Lizzy. He had had to help her get it all the way out and buckle it for her, chuckling. Back when things hadn't fallen apart compleatly. He quickly pulled out of the parking lot. Avis didn't complain, just smiled softly when he had to help Chou out of the car. Again, remembering all the times. All this remembering made him a bit sad, though sometimes it made him angry. The life he had left behind. When he changed his name and left with Lizzy. He always wondered what happened to Heather. But other times he didn't want to know at all. He leaned on the wall, arms folded, watching the duo make dinner. Lizzy was so entusiastic, wanting to help with everything. And Chou did so well with her. He doubted she would have any problem at all with her own child, though it was obvious she was nervous now. Who wouldn't be, though. That brought on another onslaught of memories, and he had to turn away, resorting to cleaning. He picked up toys, put laundry into the washer, anything to keep his mind busy. Usually the house was a mess until saturday, when he actually had a day to breath, so it was a nice change of pace. He would be able to relax more on Saturday, now. Avis smiled at the meal. "If it tastes as good as it looks, I'm sure I'll enjoy it." He smiled softly at the girl. But he didn't actually eat it until cutting it up for Lizzy, who had been banging on the plate with the fork, trying to imitate what he did. "There." He siled at the girl, ruffling her hair. He took a bite of the food, smiling. "Fantastic." He told Chou. "You should be a cook or something." He told her. "Or you could just cook for me." He joked. ...But poeple like me go through all that in a week. ((Naw it's okay. Nope. I don't mind. I was going to make her pretty much like that, anyhow.))

The sun hung From a string Looking down on On the world As it warms everything ♥xxxChou Kawanoxxx♥ Chou blushed, rather deeply, at the compliment. The red color rising up to tint her ears before rushing down to disappear beneath the shirt of her school uniform. The girl had never considered herself good enough to go pro though she had always been interested in that line of work. "I'd ... like that ..." She said quietly and hurriedly, washing down the words with a gulp of juice and then proceeding to stuff her face so she wouldn't say any more embarrassing things.
While it was true that Chou thought of Avis a friend, it was also true that she had a tiny bit of a crush on him as well. He always seemed to be honest with himself and with other people. Though she always told herself that someone like him would never take an interest in someone like her. If she was lucky then he'd consider her a friend. The blond girl couldn't believe she had said something like that and she wanted to hurry and draw his attention from what she had said to something else but what? "You know, you do so well with Lizzy."

The ammount of crap the average person goes through in life is amazing... Lizzy It made Avis chuckle as Chou got so embarrssed by his comment. He hadn't meant to embarrass the girl so much, but he had a part of him that always liked to make people embarrssed. Though sometimes he got too excited with it and made people angry, he always meant it in the kindest way possible. He continued eating and making sure Lizzy didn't throw her food until Chou spoke again. "Oh?" He shrugged nonchalantly. "thanks, I suppose. I m,ean, you just get used to having a toddler in your house. You can't help but get along with them when they're the only person you get to talk to some days." He leaned back in his chair. "Though, you never do get to see her when she's a little devil child. When she's tired and refuses to sleep." He laughed. "Am not!" Lizzy said defiantly. "Daddy be mean!" She complained, reachign over and pulling on Chou's arm. "Bad daddy!" Avis rolled his eyes, reaching over and tickling the girl. "See what I mean?" He asked jokingly. ...But poeple like me go through all that in a week.

The sun hung From a string Looking down on On the world As it warms everything ♥xxxChou Kawanoxxx♥ Realizing that Avis hadn't got the full meaning behind her words, Chou sighed in relief though part of her felt disappointed that he hadn't fully understood her quiet statement. Teenagers in general were conflicted most of the time but this girl, got a double dose; being pregnant and conflicted. She sighed slightly though giggled at Lizzy's reaction to her father's words. The blond girl's face lit up, leaning over to the little girl a bit. "Well you know what? Daddy's really old, too!" Giggling once again, gently smoothing down the girl's hair.
It wasn't like Chou didn't want to become a mother, it was just that she wished she didn't have to do it alone. Her smile vanished and she closed her bright blue eyes, her lips pursing into a line. A hand went to her stomach instantly though she smiled at the little girl who looked concerned. The blond girl smoothed the other, smaller blond girl's hair down, smiling once more though it was strained and a bit forced. "I'm okay, Lizzy, the baby just kicked. I think it wanted to join in with our fun." That's what she said though the pain had been sharper then any kick she had felt before. It was much sharper and it lasted longer then anything the baby within her had done before. In fact, it was still resonating within her. Her body was still tense, the hand that was grasping her own plastic cup of juice still tight around it, squeezing it hard. After a few minutes, though, the pain vanished just as quickly as it came and Chou relaxed once again. "And I'm sure your daddy's just joking, sweetie. Besides, I'm positive that he becomes cranky daddy when he's tired, too." The ammount of crap the average person goes through in life is amazing... Lizzy Avis rolled his eyes, finishing his meal and going over and putting his plate and empty coffee cup into the sink before sitting back at the table. He frowned abit as Chou's mouth went into a strained line and her hand whent to her stomach, her other hand strangling her cup. The baby wasn't really supposed to be very active during the eighth month, he thought, but he didn't say anything. If Cou was having problems, she should speak up. Lizzy giggled. "Oh yeah!" "Lizzy. I think Ollie wants his food. You said you'd take care ofhim. If you're done eating, you can go take care of that. Ollie likes to eat, too." Lizzy squrmed out of her booster seat. "Okay daddy." She scampered off through the living room. Avis picked up her plate and finished off the bits left behind before standing to put that one in the sink, as well. "Do you need to be home by a certian time, do your homework or something?" He asked. He didn't want to sound like he was pushing her out. But if she had other things to do.
