Ursaring
The Hibernator Pokemon

Etymology – “Ursa” meaning bear, and “Ring” for the ring on its belly.
Ursaring evolve from Teddiursa at level 30.
“Ursaring are tall, bear-like Pokémon that stand at about 5′11″ (1.8m). Ursaring have brown fur covering their bodies, except for their black-nosed muzzles, ear insides, and the paw pads on their feet and a ring on their stomachs, which are all a light tan. The fur on Ursaring’s shoulders is shaggier compared to the rest of the fur on Ursaring’s body, to the extent that they resemble epaulettes. They usually stand on their short, three-clawed back feet and seem to be mostly bipedal, using their long, clawed forelegs to climb trees or collect food. As in their pre-evolution, they have small, puffy tails.” Quoted from Bulbapedia.
Okay, Ursaring. You’re a normal type with almost a generic moveset. Why should I use you in competitive play in the NU/UU environment? Well, let’s take a look at what this former teddy bear
HP: 90
Attack: 130
Defense: 75
Sp. Attack: 75
Sp. Defense: 75
Speed: 55
Well, you’ve got amazing Attack. 130? That’s a lot of power! You’ve got decent health, while average Sp Atk, Sp Def, and Def, while your Speed is pitiful. You Attack may look intriguing to use, but the Speed makes me iffy about that choice. Looking at your moveset, you’ve got moves to hit all three of your resists (Steel, Rock, and Ghost), but nothing for your Fighting weakness. Well, show us what you got, you big, mean, cuddly teddy bear!
Guts/Quick Feet: Wow. Ursaring, you get both of these notorious abilities? Wow. For those who don’t know, when Ursaring is inflicted with status, either its Attack will raise (Guts) or its Speed will raise (Quick Feet). I can smell the Toxic Orbs and Flame Orbs nearby.
Earthquake: Ah yes, Earthquake. 100 base Ground attack with no drawback. Of course Ursaring gets it with his 130 Attack stat. Mind you, should he be statused while holding a Choice Band, and that EQ’s going to make Grass and Bug types think twice about switching in.
Close Combat: Another excellent attack Ursaring gets to eliminate his Rock and Steel type enemies. Also allows him to slap the likes of Glalie, Glaceon, and Weavile in the face!
Façade: With his two abilities making it so you want to get Ursaring poisoned, you could always run Façade and wreck things up with your large, burly bear.
There really isn’t anything else worth mentioning about Ursaring. He gets the elemental punches, which are good for coverage, but there low base power kind of sucks. Well, if you need a powerful monster to let loose on your opponent (especially if they’re running a Trick Room team) then Ursaring is your new best friend!
