Nothing Special
Once when I was very young,
I believed that I was pretty strong.
I learned that I couldn't be more wrong.
I feel oh so dumb.
I wonder if you feel the same way?
What can I say
when nothing is going right
Should I just give up the fight?
Must you always be my light?
Could I just lay with you and face my plight?
I wish I could be more like you
I wish I could be strong
I wish I could be smart
I wish I could say no
I wish I could keep fighting
I wish I were the beacon
Sadly, none of this is true of me
I cannot be who you want me to be
Do not listen to me
I am nothing special. How can I be,
when you no longer love me.

My tale of heartbreak
isn't great.
I hate it,
Once I loved him and in some ways I still do
He will always be mine. My boo (haha)
I don't know what to say
Perhaps ... I'm not okay.
Is that enough?

I know I'm not great. I'm not looking for positive reviews. I just wanted to share this. I'd like to consider myself a writer and most writers like to share their work mainly for the feeling that they get when their work touches someone else. I'm hoping some of these poems will touch you and maybe help you see a different side of me. A side that hasn't really been shown online before.
I'm aware that most of these poems are very emotional and I'm sorry if they bother you. Most poetry is written based on the emotions that the author is feeling when they are being written.
Warning: I accept criticism but do not criticize my ideas or opinions because I will get defensive.
